Sitecore Docker Examples Release #7 (Sitecore 10.5)

Overview

Updated the Docker Examples repository to Sitecore 10.5.0 on Windows LTSC2025, , including platform upgrades and default Solr authentication across all examples.This update applies to both the getting-started example and the custom-images examples across the XP0, XM1, and XP1 topologies.

Sitecore and Platform Upgrades

• Upgraded Sitecore container images to 10.5.0-ltsc2025.
• Updated the Sitecore package platform version to 10.5.0.
• Upgraded Sitecore PowerShell Extensions from 7.0 to 8.0.
• Updated Sitecore Identity Server to 9.0.7-ltsc2025.
• Upgraded Traefik to v3.7.5-windowsservercore-ltsc2025.
• Upgraded SQL Server container images to 2025-ltsc2025.
• Upgraded Solr to 10.0.0-ltsc2025.
• Updated the XConnect Collection Model dependency to 10.5.

Solr Authentication and Configuration

• Added support for Solr authentication using the following environment variables:

  • SOLR_ADMIN_USERNAME
  • SOLR_ADMIN_PASSWORD
  • SOLR_CONNECTION_USERNAME
  • SOLR_CONNECTION_PASSWORD

• Added Solr security bootstrap assets:

  • ApplySolrSecurity.ps1
  • security.json

• Added Docker Compose post_start configuration to automatically apply Solr security after container startup.

• Updated Solr health checks to support authenticated Solr endpoints.

• Updated Solr connection strings used by the solr-init services to support authenticated connections.

• Updated initialization scripts to generate and populate Solr administrator and connection credentials.

Breaking Changes

This release introduces changes that may require updates to existing environments.

• Docker Examples now target Windows LTSC2025 base images.
• Solr authentication is enabled by default.
• Solr administrative and application access now require valid credentials.
