This Preview turns Gala from a collection of themes into a persistent character layer with an explicit default IP, optional personas and isolated role workspaces.

Highlights

• GALA·群星 is the default IP — the whale and ten-character constellation now appear on first launch, in both galleries, on the splash screen, in the app icon and across the download site.
• Original really means original — “恢复原装” removes Gala characters, backdrops, branding and colours. The choice persists across restarts and is no longer conflated with the default Stars skin.
• Opt-in character personas — ten official characters can answer in their own speaking styles without changing tools, code, commands or factual requirements. The composer prompt follows the active persona; the feature remains off by default.
• Role workspaces — an optional hard-mode switch gives each IP an isolated managed profile, plugin roster and non-sensitive settings. Credentials, conversations and working directories remain shared, and every workspace switch is validated before restart.
• Persistent, readable stages — character artwork remains behind both the welcome view and active conversations. Theme-aware masking and frosted message cards improve text contrast without flattening each character's palette.
• Safer startup and rollback — the splash screen follows the last healthy appearance, profile preparation is lazy and deterministic, and failed workspace boots return to the last-known-good profile.

Migration notes

• Existing valid skin selections are preserved.
• A previously explicit active: null remains “original” after the skin store migrates to v2.
• A clean installation starts with GALA·群星.
• Role workspaces and character personas are both disabled until the user explicitly enables them.

macOS package correction — 2026-08-26

The macOS DMG and ZIP were replaced with bundles that are completely ad-hoc signed and pass strict deep code-signature verification. They still do not carry a Developer ID identity or Apple notarization ticket, so Gatekeeper approval remains necessary.

First launch

This public Preview is not Developer ID signed or notarized:

• macOS: open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway. On macOS 14 and earlier, right-clicking the app and choosing Open also works.
• Windows: in Microsoft Defender SmartScreen, choose More info → Run anyway.

Preview builds only notify you about GitHub Releases; they never download or execute an update automatically.

The first public Preview of a character-first desktop experience for DeepSeek Harness.

Highlights

• Gala character stage — the full ensemble and whale welcome you by default; switch to any of ten individual characters with her own palette, avatar, artwork and lines.
• A real desktop Host — Electron, Node and a pinned DeepSeek Harness runtime ship together for a zero-setup launch on macOS and Windows.
• Multimodal chat — image input and DeepSeek-V4 Flash Vision follow the bundled DeepSeek Harness 0.1.1 runtime.
• Plugin-compatible workflow — keep the upstream dsh plugin semantics, with a configured terminal available from the tray.
• Desktop essentials — system tray, profiles, bundled terminal and manual update checks.

Quick start

1. Install and open DeepSeek Harness Desktop Gala.
2. Go to Settings → Models and enter your DeepSeek API key. It remains in the local DSH credentials file.
3. Open Gala皮肤图鉴 from the sidebar and choose a character.
4. Start a conversation or drop in an image for multimodal chat.
