Prism 1.1.0 is about two things: knowing whether a mod really works, and getting a game back to clean — including what other tools left behind.

Highlights

Reset injections

One button, on the game panel and the Injection page, brings a game back to how its platform installed it:

  1. every Prism install, with its ReShade.ini and Engine.ini settings;
  2. every original Prism had replaced;
  3. everything other tools left — other installers, OptiScaler, manual installs.

It shows the exact count first and acts only on the second click. Files that came from other tools are set aside, not deleted, and can be restored.

Deep clean — including what was there before Prism

Prism follows each tool's own rules instead of guessing:

Left behind What Prism does
X.original, empty — an installer created X X and the marker removed
X.original, not empty — the game's original, renamed original put back
an installer's file manifest every file and folder it lists removed
OptiScaler under any DLL name removed with its companions

Full list before anything happens, every file copied aside, whole pass undoable. Copy file list exports everything that differs from the original game, for a manual check.

Diagnostic: "it says it works, but nothing changes"

After each launch, Prism reads the game's ReShade.log and shows Working, Degraded or Failed, with the log line that proves it and a fix button. It also flags conflicts (two RenoDX DLSS add-ons, ReShade or OptiScaler loaded twice, leftovers from another installer) and outdated files.

Frame generation in games that don't have it

DirectX 12 games with DLSS, FSR 2+ or XeSS turned on:

  • OptiScaler · DLSS FG — NVIDIA's own DLSS Frame Generation, driven from the game's upscaler. ×2 on RTX 40, up to ×4 on RTX 50. NVIDIA's Streamline 2.14.1 files are checked against pinned SHA-256. Experimental — single-player games without anti-cheat.
  • OptiScaler · FSR FG — ×2 on any GPU.

One OptiScaler per game: a second path reuses the one already loaded.

Any game, any store

  • Add game (.exe) for anything the scan misses, and Change to pick a game's executable.
  • Games from Epic, GOG, Xbox, Ubisoft or added by hand get their official name and Steam AppID, so HDR mods are matched exactly as for Steam games. Identify corrects it by hand.

Updated

  • DLSS 5: RenoDX DLSS · ShortFuse is now the recommended path (DirectX 12 and 11).
  • DLSS SR / FG / RR 310.9.1 and Streamline 2.14.1 (was 310.8 / 2.13).
  • Release candidates from rhi-repo are never picked as "latest".

Fixed

  • A game folder added in Settings was split into sub-folders (Engine, Binaries…) instead of being one game.
  • OptiScaler frame generation wrote settings that don't exist in 0.9.4 and could stay off; it also claimed ×3/×4 where only ×2 is delivered.
  • OptiScaler forks: frame count one too high (×2 asked, ×3 set).
  • Reinstalling OptiScaler could load a second copy under another DLL name.
  • Removing frame generation left fakenvapi.dll behind.

Download

  • Prism-Setup-1.1.0.exe — installer, per user, no admin rights; updates itself afterwards.
  • Prism-1.1.0-win-x64.zip — portable.

Installed 1.0.x copies will offer the update on their own. Each file has a .sha256 next to it.

Note

Prism isn't code-signed yet. Right after a release, Windows Smart App Control may refuse to start a build it hasn't seen before; if that happens, keep 1.0.x for a few days or build from source. SmartScreen's "Windows protected your PC" is only a warning: More info → Run anyway, after checking the .sha256.
