What's new

• A compact list view for the library. The flat "by video" list now has
  a grid/list toggle next to the thumbnail-size slider: list view shows each
  video as a dense row (thumbnail, title, platform/quality chips, labels,
  upload date, version/clip counts) instead of a card, with the same
  selection and "Add to queue" support as the grid. A second slider — discrete
  1/2/3 stops, replacing the thumbnail-size slider while list view is active
  — lets you choose how many columns of rows to show, defaulting to one.
• Platform label cleanup on the by-video list. The platform name no
  longer shows up twice on a card (once as its own chip, once again as plain
  text where a YouTube channel name would go) — that plain-text line is
  YouTube-channel-only now. The platform and quality/downloaded chips moved
  down to sit next to it, left-aligned, so the title gets the full width of
  the card instead of squeezing against them.
• Fixed the thumbnail sometimes showing as a generic placeholder when
  bulk-downloading videos already in your library (Library view → select
  some → Download selected) — it now carries over the video's own cached
  thumbnail instead of guessing a YouTube-only URL that didn't apply.

What's new

• Add videos from virtually any yt-dlp-supported site to your library, not
  just YouTube. SoundCloud, Dailymotion, archive.org, PeerTube, and the rest
  of the 1800+ sites yt-dlp supports
  can now be added to your permanent library the same way a YouTube video
  can — versioned, labelled, and organized by platform instead of by
  channel. "Add to library" is no longer greyed out for anything other than
  YouTube.
  • Every entry plays through the same full-featured player as your YouTube
    library — including audio-only sources (SoundCloud, Bandcamp, etc.),
    which now show their thumbnail/album art for the whole time they're
    playing instead of a blank black screen, and can still be clipped like
    any video.
  • Each entry shows a color-coded platform label (SoundCloud orange,
    Dailymotion blue, Vimeo cyan, Twitch purple, and so on) next to its
    title, both on its own page and on its card in the library grid, plus a
    new "Non-YouTube" filter to find them all at once.
  • A video's page now shows an "Extra data" section with whatever the
    source actually provides — uploader, upload date, license, categories,
    tags, and, for music platforms, track/artist/album/genre.
  • Embed metadata now works for these too, including music tags where
    available, and MP3-only sources get their MP3 option folded into
    "Convert to" instead of a separate, now-redundant Extract MP3 button.
• Volume controls in the mini player and queue panel. Both now have a
  volume button that opens a small popover with a vertical slider, so you
  can adjust background playback without needing the full player open.
• Clips now remember their exact start/end timestamps, and a new
  "Mark clip on original video" button jumps back to the source video with
  those same timestamps already marked — a quick way to re-clip or adjust
  an existing clip without hunting for where it was cut from.
• Fixed an audio/video sync bug when clipping. A fast clip could end up
  with its audio and video very slightly out of phase — hard to notice on
  most content, but obvious on anything music-driven. Clips that need it now
  get a quick, targeted re-encode of just the video stream (audio stays a
  lossless copy either way) to keep the two in sync.

What's new

• Play anything in the background, and queue up more. A new mini-player
  bar at the bottom of the app lets you keep listening (or watching) while
  you browse the library, start a download, or adjust Options — without
  losing your place. Add a video to the queue from a hover button on the
  player, the library grid, or a playlist's own entries; a "Play all" button
  queues an entire playlist back-to-back. Queued items play through
  automatically, with previous/next controls right in the mini bar.
  • Click the queue counter to open the full side panel: see everything
    queued, remove an item on hover, click a row to jump to it, or click a
    thumbnail to open that video's own page. It defaults to audio-only, with
    a toggle to switch to watching the video, and the panel itself is
    resizable.
  • Works for videos that need extra processing to play (like MKV
    downloads) too — the queue prepares them the same way the regular
    player already does, automatically.
  • Adding something that's already in the queue is now blocked with a
    quick heads-up instead of silently duplicating it.
• Playlist view improvements.
  • Search within an open playlist, not just across your saved playlists.
  • A playlist's thumbnail no longer gets stuck on a video that's since
    gone private or been deleted, and you can manually pick which video's
    thumbnail represents the playlist.
  • Refreshing a playlist now actually pulls in the full data for any newly
    found videos, not just their title and thumbnail.
• A small icon in the header now shows when cookies are loaded for
  sending to yt-dlp, with a quick way to clear them right from there.

What's new

• Player improvements.
  • Resume where you left off. Reopening a video you didn't finish now
    offers to pick up right where you paused, via a dismissible toast. A
    new Options setting controls when a position gets remembered at all —
    never, always, or only past a minimum length you choose (20 minutes by
    default), so a fresh install doesn't start tracking every short clip.
  • Loop a video, or loop just a clipped sequence. Right-click the
    player for a new context menu (with room for more playback options
    down the line) offering "Loop" for the whole video and "Loop
    sequence" to loop only between your clip markers, once both are set.
  • Clip markers and extraction are now millisecond-precise, not
    rounded to the nearest whole second — dragging a clip marker or
    setting one from the current playback position keeps the exact
    fraction of a second you picked, instead of losing it to rounding.
    Also fixed a bug that could cause an unnecessary, slower re-encode
    when clipping an audio-only file.
  • Double-click the time display for a millisecond-precision readout, useful alongside the new fine-grained clip markers.
    Double-click again to go back to the normal display.
• Downloads embed their metadata by default now. Title, channel, upload
  date, description, and cover art get written into the file automatically
  on every download — library and the plain Downloader tab alike. This was
  previously a manual "Embed metadata" button; it's now on by default and
  can be turned off in Options.
• Tag playlist entries, and filter playlists by tag the same way the
  library already lets you — including bulk-tagging several entries at
  once, and new "Downloaded"/"Not Downloaded" filters available in both the
  library and playlist tag filters.
• "Select all" for whatever's currently on screen — the flat video
  list, a channel's video grid, and a playlist's entry list all gained a
  header checkbox that selects (or clears) exactly the currently
  filtered/searched set, for use with the existing bulk actions.
• Fixed a bug where an MP3 download failure showed no error at all in
  the video view, silently reverting to the plain "Download MP3" button
  instead of telling you something went wrong.
• The sandboxed JS runtime yt-dlp uses to solve site challenges is now Deno instead of Node closing a gap where the previous approach could
  not fully block that runtime's network and environment-variable access.
  No user-facing change in behavior — this is a security hardening
  improvement under the hood.

• Added a theme selector. Options now has a "Theme" dropdown alongside
  the existing Light/Dark toggle: the original plain look ("Default MUI")
  or a new "SlothUI" theme matching the color scheme from SlothArchiver's
  own website. SlothUI (dark) is now the default look for a fresh install;
  existing installs keep whatever they already had.
• Cookie handling is clearer and safer. The warning explains what
  cookies are actually for (age-restricted or members-only content, not
  something to leave on for every download) and links to yt-dlp's own
  cookie usage guide. A new "Save across sessions" checkbox, off by
  default, controls whether a saved cookie (or cookies-from-browser choice)
  is kept the next time the app opens or cleared as soon as it closes --
  so an authenticated session can't accidentally outlive the run that
  created it. Existing saved cookies are unaffected by this change.
• Fixed a bug in the bulk-add queue where a retried download could show
  a generic "Download failed" message instead of the actual reason,
  once an earlier failure on the same item was still being displayed.

What's new

• Fixed a bug where downloading a very long video could get stuck looping
  forever. The step that joins the downloaded video and audio together
  doesn't report progress while it runs, and on a long enough recording that
  silence was being mistaken for a stalled connection — killing the merge
  partway through and restarting the whole download from scratch, repeatedly,
  with no way out short of force-quitting the app.
• The postprocessing step now shows a proper loading animation instead of a
  progress bar stuck at 50%, since that stage genuinely has no percentage
  to report — the old fixed value looked broken on anything that took more
  than a few seconds.
• Downloading a video over 3 hours long now shows a heads-up that the
  postprocessing step may take a while with no visible progress, so it's
  clear that's expected rather than a sign something's wrong.

What's new

• Split your library into separate sublibraries. Create as many as you
  want from the Library tab, switch between them, and pick which one a new
  download or bulk add lands in. Move any video — every saved version, its
  clips, and its channel's icon if needed — to a different sublibrary at any
  time, individually or several at once from the bulk-selection bar. This is
  the feature the DefaultLibrary groundwork from 0.26.2 was preparing for.
• Tag your videos, and filter the library by tag. Add one or more tags to
  a video from its detail view (next to its quality badge), or tag several
  videos at once from the bulk-selection bar. A filter icon next to the sort
  control lets you narrow the library down to videos carrying every tag you
  select, layered on top of your current search and sort.
• A video whose downloaded file goes missing — moved, renamed, or deleted
  outside the app — now recovers automatically where possible. Opening it
  triggers a quick check that repairs the stored file link if a matching
  file is found nearby; if nothing's found, a clear warning tells you to
  re-download it or locate it yourself instead of the player just failing
  silently.

What's new

• Library thumbnails and channel icons now scale with your window, not
  just a fixed size. Both grids used to cap out at a flat pixel size no
  matter how wide the window got, so a large monitor didn't actually show
  bigger thumbnails. They now grow with the window instead, and the
  thumbnail-size slider stays meaningful at any window width instead of
  losing effect once the window gets wide.
• Prep work for upcoming SubLibrary/tag support. New videos and
  playlists are now saved one level deeper on disk, inside a DefaultLibrary
  folder — internal groundwork for a future feature that lets you split your
  library into separate tagged sections. If you're upgrading from an earlier
  version, your existing library won't show up in the Library tab until you
  add something new to it — nothing is deleted, your files are exactly where
  they were, just outside where the app currently looks. A real migration
  path will ship before this becomes the default experience for everyone.
