Action Dock 1.2 — Shape, depth, and motion

A floating strip of glass that you can curl, bend, and tilt into your own workspace. Keep your favourite actions close, then pin the shape and angle that feel right.

Download Action Dock 1.2.0 for macOS

Requires macOS 26.4 or later. Universal app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs that support this macOS version.

Your dock, in another dimension

Actual app recording: rotating a glass ring in 3D, then opening an upright menu

Option-drag the grip to find your angle. Glass follows the perspective, icons lift above it, and the menus stay upright. Option-click toggles between flat and tilted. Each pin remembers its own view.

A curve of your own

A broad custom curve in tilted glass, with colourful raised icons and an upright Coding menu

Hold Command and drag an end to curl the dock, or drag the middle to bend it. Release to keep your shape. Add a little perspective and the same row of tools becomes a floating curve.

Start with a shape you like

Circle and Compact S docks shown at different 3D angles on a dark blue backdrop

Right-click the dotted grip for Horizontal, Vertical, Circle, or Compact S. Choose the starting layout for new docks in Settings → Behavior → Default Dock Layout. Existing pins retain their own layouts.

Motion that follows the curve

Glass slides along the path, followed by the icon ripple. Switch context and the next dock starts sliding in while the old one slides away. Menus open near the selected icon, with category labels placed consistently near the pin.

Reduce Motion uses short fades instead of path animations. Reduce Transparency and Increase Contrast remain supported. Existing preferences and pins carry forward; older saved docks open flat.

Also included since 1.0

  • Manually named menu contexts, alongside app and Desktop contexts.
  • A compact context list with a dedicated menu editor.
  • Run All and Run All in Category, with ordered execution and confirmation for more than eight actions.
  • Better submenu ordering when a horizontal dock opens upward.

Install or update

  1. Quit Action Dock if it is running.
  2. Download and extract Action-Dock-1.2.0-macOS.zip.
  3. Move Action Dock.app into Applications, replacing the previous app.
  4. Open it and retain or grant Accessibility access when prompted.

The app uses the project's established Apple Development signature and is not notarized. If macOS blocks opening, consult Apple’s instructions for opening an app you trust, including System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway when offered. This release does not require deleting preferences or existing pins.

The ZIP has an accompanying SHA-256 checksum file. Both architectures build successfully; unit tests and live UI verification were run on Apple silicon. Screenshots are actual app captures staged on clean backgrounds; menus are examples and can be customized.
