v0.2.0
New
Weekly resets in the menu. Every account now shows when its weekly limit resets, for example week 36%, resets Sat 09:00.
Use up expiring weekly usage. A new toggle, off by default: Auto-switch to use up expiring weekly. Weekly usage you don't spend before the reset is gone. With this on, the switcher moves Claude to an account whose week resets within 24 hours with half or more still unused. It waits until no Claude Code chat has been active for 15 minutes, so it never cuts off a reply, and it stays on that account until the reset. The top of the menu says why it switched. All rules are in the README.
Projects come along. Chats inside a Claude Code project now stay in their project on every account. The switcher copies the projects between accounts, without the claude.ai project link of the other organization, and a project you deleted is not copied back. (#4)
Download
- Windows 10/11: claude-account-switcher-windows-amd64.exe
- macOS (universal): claude-account-switcher-macos
Updating: quit the switcher from its menu, replace the file, start it again. Your accounts and settings stay. If Start at login is on and you saved the new file somewhere else, turn it off and on once so it points to the new file.

v0.1.1
Fixes stale usage numbers.
The usage endpoint is rate-limited per account, and Claude polls it too. v0.1.0 checked the active account every minute and, once it got 429 Too Many Requests, kept showing old numbers without saying so.
- The active account is checked every two minutes, and every minute from 85%.
- Other accounts are checked every ten minutes.
- After a
429the switcher waits as long as the server asks (Retry-After), or backs off 2, 4, 8 minutes up to 30, and keeps the last numbers meanwhile. - Auto-switch only acts on numbers checked in the last 5 minutes (active account) or 15 minutes (the account it would switch to).
Replace the old binary with the new one. Saved sign-ins and settings in ~/.claude-account-switcher carry over.
v0.1.0
First release.
A tray tool that switches the Claude desktop app between your accounts in one click. It keeps every sign-in, so there is no email code after the first time, carries your Claude Code chats across, and shows live 5-hour and weekly usage for every account.

Each file has a .sha256 next to it. The builds are not code-signed; the README says how to get past the one-time SmartScreen or Gatekeeper warning.
Tested: Windows 11 with the Microsoft Store version of Claude. Adding a second account took 44 s including the email code, a switch takes 9 s.
Not yet tested on a real Mac. It builds and its tests pass on macOS in CI. Reports welcome.
