SolisWare Axion Notes v0.2 "Skylight"

This release expands Axion Notes beyond the desktop client with a new React web app, shared browser/Electron app logic, persistent browser local storage, refreshed settings, and the full rebrand from X-NoTES to Axion Notes.

Highlights

  • Rebranded the app from X-NoTES to Axion Notes
  • Added support for running Solisware Axion Notes as a React web app in the browser
  • Added persistent browser note & app settings storage using localStorage
  • Added a browser API layer that mirrors the Electron preload API for shared app code
  • Added Axion Notes app icons for desktop and web builds

  • Added Settings support for both desktop and web

Developer Experience

  • Added VS Code debug configurations for the Electron desktop app and React web app
  • Renamed the React toolbar to WebToolbar and limited it to the web app while Electron uses native desktop menus

Fixes

  • Fixed Delete All toolbar button hover flickering in the web app
  • Removed the version label from the web toolbar and moved it to About section in the new Settings window

Notes

This is still an early release. Because the app is not yet code-signed, macOS Gatekeeper or Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may show a warning when opening the downloaded app or installer.

The project has also moved forward under the Axion Notes name, with updated branding and icon assets across the desktop and web builds.
