X-Men Legends II Native Port Release

Cross-platform native port of X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse (2005 PC release) using native subsystems and x86port runtime JIT.

Release Assets:

  • Linux x86-64 AppImage: X-Men-Legends-II-x86_64.AppImage
  • Desktop no-terminal setup flow with Browse dialog.
  • Automatically verifies legal PC install and stores path in OS user config.
  • macOS Apple Silicon (ARM64): X-Men-Legends-II-macos-arm64.zip
  • A self-contained X-Men Legends II.app: it carries SDL3, SDL3_image, FreeType, FFmpeg and its own Vulkan loader with MoltenVK, so nothing has to be installed first. Unzip it, move it to Applications and open it; the first launch asks for your PC installation with a Browse dialog and accepts a folder, its XMen2.exe, or a ZIP of either.
  • It is ad-hoc signed rather than notarised, so the first open needs right-click -> Open (or Open Anyway in System Settings -> Privacy & Security).
  • Android ARM64 (arm64-v8a): X-Men-Legends-II-arm64-v8a.apk
  • Storage Access Framework setup and touch controls. Signed with the project's long-lived key, so it installs over any earlier release of the same lineage and keeps your imported game installation. Device performance is not yet measured.
  • Checksums: SHA256SUMS.txt

Platform Notes:

  • Windows: no package. The native Windows host is not implemented, so there is nothing to build for it; on Windows the 2005 retail release runs on its own.
  • No Copyrighted Assets: These packages contain no game content, audio, textures, or retail code. Supply your own legally obtained PC installation of X-Men Legends II (folder or ZIP containing XMen2.exe and its original DLLs).
