Could the readme be updated with proper installation steps please?

Hey,

Got a new PC and wanted to install EliteVA. I was surprised to see development time was invested into a new project but there's neither an exe installer like in the old project nor steps how to install this if you only want to use it to trigger certain voiceattack actions in Elite.

The dotnet installer steps as well as subscribing to a host seem to cover a much bigger task than if you only want another voiceattack plugin. The readme should specify which steps are crucial to just get that and what part of the steps are only for developers. Else this project may limit itself automatically to less people than probably desired for popularity.

I will use the old 2024 installer for now and hope it still works.
edit: it does not work, says it cannot find the eliteva installation directory. I now copied over the old eliteva folder to the new computer. Yet this is certainly not in the interest of the new project.

Installing as a plugin in VA is simple ... click the releases link on the right of the main GitHub page and on that page click the link, in assets, to download the zip file. Download the file to your Downloads dir and once the download in complete navigate there with Windows Explorer and find the downloaded file and right click it and from the popup dialogue click the option near the bottom to Unblock the file.

Once the file is unblocked, you can unzip it and copy/move the dir to the VoiceAttack 2\Apps dir, job done.

I always rename the dir before moving it as when the VA profile I use starts up that tells me what version I'm using, so I don't need the version number in the directory name.

Thank you and I apologize. When I compared the older file with the newer ones I believed the zip archive did not contain all required DLLs. I just tried it and it seems to work.
I'll make a contrubtion to the main website to inform newcomers.

Is there also an EliteAPI voiceattack profile available? I don't see it in the release section and still use the old EliteVA one.

Yeah the file count has dropped significantly. And with regard to the profile at the moment there's not one included with the plugin so you'd still need to use the VA profile from a previous release.

You should mention that the VA profile is the EliteVA.vap file in the assets section of the previous release. Just in case folk don't know what file they'd need for the VA profile.
