Highlights

  • Adds an explicit, operation-scoped SpecificationTraceTimeline for correlating SpecificationCore spans with lifecycle events produced by integrating code.
  • Adds optional start and completion positions to traced evaluation events when a recorder is initialized with a shared timeline. Existing recorder behavior and the existing event initializer remain available.
  • Updates the SpecificationCore Codex plugin version to 2.1.0.

Compatibility

SpecificationCore 2.1.0 requires Swift tools 6.1 or later. The Tracing trait remains opt-in. SpecificationCore 1.1.0 is the last release compatible with Swift tools 5.10 through 6.0.

Validation

CI passed on Linux with Swift 6.1 and 6.4, and on macOS with Xcode 16.4 and latest stable. Release builds, DocC build, tracing tests, Thread Sanitizer, and SwiftFormat checks passed.
