Checkin Simplification
- Removed file-based state tracking - No more
~/.claude/.elf_checkin_state - Claude tracks session state - Uses conversation context as natural session boundary
- Always outputs prompts - Script outputs
[PROMPT_NEEDED]hints, Claude decides when to ask - No arbitrary timeouts - Previous 4-hour expiry removed
Why
The file-based approach caused confusion:
- State persisted across conversations
- Arbitrary 4-hour window didn't match actual session boundaries
- Hidden state made debugging difficult
Now: new conversation = new session = prompts appear. Simple.
