Ruby Downloader v1.6.8

Overview

Ruby Downloader v1.6.8 introduces the new Matrix Digital Rain visual engine with deep personalization, a custom rain speed controller, 3D parallax depth, live glitch effects, and refined typography across the user interface.

What's New

1. Matrix Digital Rain Visual Engine

  • Selectable Background Effects: Users can now toggle between Glowing Particles, Matrix Digital Rain, and Static (Disabled) modes directly in Settings.
  • Default Launch Effect: Glowing Particles remains the default visual mode upon fresh startup.
  • Custom Matrix Text: Users can enter their own words, tags, or numbers to cascade down the falling columns. When left empty, the engine automatically falls back to authentic classic Matrix glyphs (half-width Katakana, hexadecimal numbers, and cyber operators).
  • Random Preset Generator: Added a quick randomizer action beside the text field that cycles through curated cyber/retro presets (e.g., SPACEXCX, RUBY DOWNLOADER, WAKE UP NEO, FOLLOW THE WHITE RABBIT, CYBERPUNK 2077, 01010110 01001001) with accent glow pulse feedback.

2. Matrix Rain Speed Controller

  • Integrated Speed Slider: Added a 5-step speed slider positioned directly below the custom text input, visually styled with active gemstone theme colors.
  • Readable Speed Settings: Provides 5 distinct levels ranging from Very Slow (optimized for reading custom text sequentially) to Normal, Fast, and Turbo.
  • Sequential Character Cascading: Custom text now streams down in sequential spelling order rather than flickering randomly, making words legible and smooth as they descend.

3. 3D Parallax Depth & Live Glitch System

  • Three-Layer Parallax:
    • Background Layer: Smaller font (11px), slower drift, and muted opacity to create spatial depth.
    • Midground Layer: Dense, crisp text (13px) at normal speed, acting as the primary reading plane for custom words.
    • Foreground Layer: Larger (16px), rapid accent streams with radiant neon bloom cutting across the view.
  • Lead Head Glow & Trail Decay: Leading head characters illuminate in pure white with intense neon bloom, followed by a bright theme-tinted neck and an exponential decay gradient down the trail.
  • Live Glitch Engine: Intersperses cyber spacers between word cycles and occasionally mutates trail characters into random matrix runes for realistic digital terminal ambiance.
  • Monospace Typography: Tightly spaced vertical rhythm using JetBrains Mono, Consolas, and monospace fallbacks for dense, uniform code columns.

Improvements & Fixes

  • Typography & Clean UI: Removed decorative symbols and emojis across settings menus, action buttons, and toast notifications for a sleek, modern visual aesthetic (retaining the Potato PC badge).
  • Frame Throttling & Power Optimization: Capped Matrix rendering to an optimized interval to halve GPU and CPU usage while maintaining fluid 30+ FPS cinematic motion.
  • Theme Border Synchronization: Corrected modal borders and settings section outlines to synchronize accurately with active gemstone themes (Ruby, Amethyst, Emerald, Sapphire, Topaz).
  • Full Multilingual Translations: Updated Turkish, English, German, Spanish, French, and Russian locales with full coverage for new matrix controls, speed tiers, and tooltips.
