The DevOps Inn - Full-Stack Hotel Booking Application

The DevOps Inn is a full-stack hotel booking web application designed to showcase modern design and technology integration. This project is built using a Node.js/Express backend (with TypeScript) and a React frontend (with TypeScript, Vite, Material UI, and React Router).

Setup Instructions

Backend Setup

1.Navigate to the backend folder: cd backend

2.Install dependencies: npm install Run the backend server (it runs on port 5000 by default):

3.npm run dev Verify the API by visiting http://localhost:5000/api/rooms.

Frontend Setup

1.Open a new terminal, navigate to the frontend folder: cd frontend

2.Install dependencies: npm install

3.Run the frontend development server (by default on port 5173): npm run dev

4.Open http://localhost:5173 in your browser.

API Endpoints The backend provides a simple API endpoint:

GET /api/rooms — Returns a list of sample hotel rooms. You can expand these endpoints as needed (e.g., for booking, authentication, etc.).
