Download the latest full release of Python from https://www.python.org/downloads/, at the time of writing, it is 3.12.3 Run the installer and restart your PC Make a new folder on your machine called MagnaBot, this is where you will install the bot to Open a terminal/command prompt and navigate to that folder Run the command pip install discord.py pytz datetime requests python-dotenv This will install all the dependencies needed to run the bot

Download the latest release from https://github.com/SpiritTheWalf/MagnaBotReWrite/releases/latest and unzip into your folder Make a new file called .env and open it in your text editor Add the line #.env to the start of the file, then add BOT_TOKEN= underneath Navigate to https://discord.com/developers/applications and make a new application, call it whatever you want the bot to be called Go to the Bot tab and scroll down until you see Privileged Gateway Intents, and check the SERVER MEMBERS INTENT and MESSAGE CONTENT INTENT, these are needed for the bot to work as expected Scroll back up until you see the Reset Token button Click it, you may be prompted to enter your password or 2-factor authentication code, do so Copy your bot's token, and make sure to never give this out to anyone, even if they ask for it Paste the token into the .env file, next to BOT_TOKEN=, make sure there is no spaces between them Go to your terminal/command prompt and type python main.py, this will run the bot, but we are not quite finished yet, the bot isn't in any servers.

On your bot's application page, navigate to the OAuth2 tab, and scroll down until you get to OAuth2 URL Generator Check the button next to bot, then scroll down to the permissions, and check Administrator Copy the link at the bottom of the page, and paste it into your web browser Now you can add the bot to any server that you have Manage Server permissions in

PLEASE NOTE - SpiritTheWalf will not help you with any problems related to self-hosting the bot, but for any problems with the bot itself, please run the command /support in any server with the bot, and join the server
