Fixed

• When the modem's SMS inbox is empty, sms-input now correctly prints an empty JSON array ([]) instead of no output at all — downstream tools (e.g. MultiFlexi job pipelines) that parse the output as JSON no longer choke on an empty response.
• If the tool fails to reach or read from the modem, it now exits with a non-zero status code instead of silently succeeding. Cron jobs and job runners can now correctly detect a failed run instead of mistaking it for "no new messages."
