This release refreshes Turkey's crypto regulatory framework file and
surfaces a development the file did not previously reflect: a second
attempt to introduce crypto taxation was submitted to Turkey's
parliament in April 2026, roughly a month after an earlier attempt was
withdrawn following public backlash. The new proposal follows the same
lines as the earlier one — a small transaction tax plus a 10%
withholding tax on trading gains — with an added exemption from value-
added tax not present in the original version.

What happened to this second attempt since April could not be
confirmed from any source checked. It has not been reported as passed
into law, and it has not been reported as withdrawn again either. This
leaves Turkey's crypto tax position more actively unsettled than a
simple "no tax law exists" framing would suggest, and this file's
next review has been brought forward to chase that specific question
rather than waiting the usual month.

Separately, this refresh clarifies Turkey's anti-money-laundering
rules for crypto platforms: a set of concrete restrictions — withdrawal
waiting periods, transfer limits on stablecoins, and mandatory
transaction details — took effect in mid-2025 and remain in force. A
further, more sweeping proposal to give regulators instant account-
freezing powers was floated around the same time but could not be
confirmed as ever having been enacted, despite an expectation that it
would pass through a particular legislative vehicle that has since
moved forward without it.

A check of Turkey's public list of registered crypto platforms found
no entry for the sports-token platform Socios.com or its parent
company, though this list specifically tracks Turkey-incorporated
businesses and does not by itself resolve whether the platform falls
under Turkish licensing requirements as a foreign operator.
