Describe the bug
I don't know if this is a firmware issue or a hardware limitation.
I recently tested the GB Interceptor with any game flashed onto a DMG-29W-04 board flashcard, but the GB Interceptor seems to be disrupting the proper functioning of the cartridge in some way. When the console starts to read the cartridge (just after the boot screen), the GB Interceptor seems to start for a fraction of a second, but it immediately falls back into the standby screen. The screen at the console stays blank at that moment.
It only happens on DMG and MGB (Pocket) hardware. Curiously, it works if I turn it on in a CGB (Game Boy Color). Didn't try on a Game Boy Advance yet.
Other flash carts that I own (such as SD007) do work on both DMG and MGB hw.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Flash any supported game into a DMG-29W-04 cartridge.
- Try it with GB Interceptor and any pre-Game Boy Color hardware.
- Game will freeze blank and GB Interceptor will fall back into standby mode (asking to power on the Game Boy).
Host software (please complete the following information):
- Firmware version: 1.2.2
- OS: GNU/Linux
- Software: VLC
Game Boy:
- Models tried: unmodded DMG-01, modded MGB-001 (Pocket), unmodded and modded CGB-001 (Color, working).
Game:
- Title: Pokemon Red, Alleyway, Mario Land 2, Battletoads, Donkey Kong Land III
- Version: newfangled generic flashcard w/ board model DMG-29W-04
