Another week, another round of upgrades for LinesShines.

Looking for "der" — LinesShines recommender surfaces Derick Hall, Will Anderson Jr and Carl Granderson.
Each name contains a case-insensitive "der" somewhere.

For Peter Skoronski, now it's totally OK to just remember ⛷️ski. Let recommender take care of the rest.

What I Promised Back In v1.0.0

Hereby, in the next release, another intelligent feature is on deck to join us 🙌

Turns out I was wrong. Several intelligent features came together~😉

🚡 Specialties:
• Name recommender — not sure of the exact player's name? No worries. There's a smart name matching system suggesting likely matches based on what you have typed. Yes, it tracks suffixes like IV & Sr. as well.

• Player spotlight — selection supports player level: all lights only come to the selected players as spotlight.

• Team & player union selection — with player level granularity, now you can pick a whole team and any other teams' player for a player VS. team comparison.

• Multiple player cards — you can open as many player cards as you want. Nobody is preventing you.

• Resizable cards — you might at times want to focus more or less on specific player cards, so cards are able to expand or shrink sizes accordingly. Just like how you expand or shrink app pages on your laptops.

🚨Reminder: player spotlight and resizable cards are only available for non-mobile devices like laptops & tablets.

Really, suffixes are also detected by LinesShines recommender.

Just Wanna Update README 😆

That's literally all v0.0.1 is about.
Nothing but mainly a documentation patch for v0.0.0.

🔚 Finalized v0.0

No more changes. Just let v0.0-beginning stay what it is.

🫡 Here's to farewell to a great past that would grow into something better & bigger.

🏈LinesShines v0.0.0

Prototype means root, which is also memories.

Thus, this release talks about branch v0.0-beginning, a snapshot of the initial plot making workflow.

Past — Only Local Plots.

Dating back to 2024, after seasons of following NFL, I began to feel curious about linemen, especially in pass rush & pass protection.

To make player evaluation easier, I knew I needed visuals.
So I set up this repo to store code that created them.

I relied on three tools:
-Seaborn — scatter plots, with team logos as player markers.

-Matplotlib — annotations to place player names next to each logo.

-adjustText — a lifesaver for minimizing label overlap.

Sudden Idea After Years

One day, when I looked into all these plots I've made all the way, I just grew a mind for myself:

"How about doing more than this? Really starting to feel like a new era. How wonderful it would be should we have interactions powering plots......"

And now, this v0.0.0 release is here to be, well, a prologue that later unveils 👌
