v0.23.0 — Release Notes (2026-01-28)

Summary:
This release adds a set of foundational UI features (File Tree, Tab Management, Editor, AI Panel), introduces React-side performance tooling, and completes a state-management migration to improve runtime responsiveness. Several stability fixes and dependency updates are included.

Highlights ✅

  • New core UI features — Implemented the primary UI components and their logic: File Tree, Tab Management, Editor, and AI Panel. (PR: #291)

    • Intent: Provide a solid, modular foundation for editing workflows and AI-assisted interactions within the app.
    • Benefit: Clearer separation of concerns, easier extension, and improved UX for multi-file workflows.
  • React performance monitoring — Added a ReactScan component (commit ce7b977) to observe and profile render behavior.

    • Intent: Make it easier to detect expensive renders and regressions during development and QA.
    • Benefit: Faster iteration on performance fixes and measurable metrics for improvement.
  • State-management migration — Migrated from zustand to valtio to improve React performance and simplify reactive state patterns (PR: #292).

    • Intent: Reduce render overhead and align on a lighter-weight reactive model.
    • Dependency change: bumped valtio from 2.1.2 → 2.3.0 in package.json and pnpm-lock.yaml (commit 83a11b6).
  • Bug fixes — Addressed multiple stability and UX issues across the new UI components and editor workflows.

What changed 🔧

  • feat: Implemented File Tree, Tab Management, Editor, AI Panel and related logic — @NobukiAkiyama (PR #291)
  • perf: Added ReactScan performance observation component (commit ce7b977)
  • perf/chore: Migrated state management from zustand → valtio (PR #292) and bumped valtio to 2.3.0 (commit 83a11b6)
  • fix: Various bug fixes improving stability and edge cases in UI and editor flows

Installation / Local run ⚡

  1. Install dependencies with the lockfile preserved:
    • pnpm install --frozen-lockfile
  2. Start the dev server:
    • pnpm run dev

⚠️ Note: Because of the valtio version bump, use --frozen-lockfile to match the lockfile and avoid unexpected resolutions.
