v0.1.1 — theme toggle

A UI-only release. Installed 0.1.0 copies will be offered this automatically on next launch; the conductor and its databases carry over untouched.

• The palette is now a setting you pin rather than one inherited from the desktop. Previously the UI followed the OS prefers-color-scheme and there was no way to override it. (epistemic-happ#95)

No zome or DNA change — the cell, its DNA hash and its data are the same as in 0.1.0.

Install

Windows: -setup.exe. macOS: -x64.dmg (Intel) or -arm64.dmg (Apple Silicon); unsigned, so the first launch needs the quarantine override. Linux: .AppImage or .deb.

v0.1.0 — first build

First release of Epistemic Resonance as a standalone desktop app, with a Holochain 0.7.0 conductor built in. No Rust, Node, terminal, or copy of the repository needed.

The .zip and .blockmap files are used by the in-app updater; you don't need to download them.

Read this before installing

The app is not code signed. On macOS 15 (Sequoia) it is quarantined on open and the System Settings option to allow it has been removed. To run it you must open a Terminal and run:

xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Epistemic Resonance.app"

On Windows, SmartScreen will warn you and you'll need "More info" → "Run anyway".

Whether two installs on different networks can find each other has not been tested. Everything on this project was verified with several conductors on one machine — real processes, real transport, real gossip, one physical host. Two laptops behind different home routers is the one case nobody has checked. If you and someone else install this and never see each other's claims, that is the most likely reason, and it is worth reporting.

Peer discovery depends on dev-test-bootstrap2.holochain.org. That is Holochain's own development and testing infrastructure. It is not run by this project, and nobody has promised to keep it running. If it goes away, installed copies stop finding peers.

Your data will not survive an incompatible upgrade. Versions 0.1.x share a conductor and its databases; a future 0.2.0 — which any Holochain version change requires — starts fresh. Treat anything you publish with this build as impermanent.

What it does

Publish a claim with a declared confidence level. Critique someone else's claim, choosing the kind of critique you are making. Attach evidence. Retract something you no longer stand behind, which adds a record rather than deleting one. Found a domain, and join one.

There are deliberately no scores, rankings or reputation numbers anywhere, for any agent, claim or critique. Some actions are rate-limited on purpose: critiques are capped per hour, so that disagreement costs something.
