Modus v0.1.11
What's changed
Settings in your language
- Settings and the clarification card are now translated into Português (Brasil). A new Language picker in Settings › General defaults to English. You can switch to Português (Brasil), or to System to follow your OS language. The change applies right away, including the app menu, with no restart.
- Polished pt-BR wording across Settings.
Easier to read
- Glass now has an opacity floor, so text stays legible over any wallpaper, light or dark. Window and dialog glass use a 24px blur.
- Descriptions, helper text, secondary labels, and empty and loading messages are brighter, so they meet readable-text contrast on glass.
Optional local tool filter
- New Local tool filter in Settings › General. It's off by default.
- When you turn it on, Modus downloads a local model of about 415 MB once. The download is verified, and you can cancel and resume it. On the first turn of each chat, the model picks the tools that match your message, so far fewer tool definitions are sent to your AI model. The agent can still ask for every tool when it needs one.
- If the filter isn't ready or fails, every tool is sent as before. The filter isn't available on Intel Macs, or on Windows without the Visual C++ runtime.
- Prompt sections that don't change are sent once per chat instead of with every message, and the tool set stays stable between turns, so more of each request can be reused from the provider's cache.
The agent asks before guessing
- In Build mode, a short edit request that doesn't say what to change (for example "fix it") now gets one quick question first. You can turn this off in Settings › General › Ask before acting when the target is missing.
REA integration
- REA (Reverse Engineer Anything) is now a built-in integration, with its own worker per chat and the bundled Superpowers and reverse-engineer-anything skills. It needs Node.js and npm.
- REA installs from a pinned lockfile with install scripts disabled. Its approval card now says that it runs npm code on your computer with your permissions.
Fixes
- REA shows a clear message when Node.js is installed but npm is missing.
- Old REA runtime folders are removed after an update.
- Activity no longer shows a "Load earlier activity" button that can't load anything. History stops auto-loading when older pages are empty.
- When a tool isn't available in a turn, the agent is no longer wrongly told it's because of Plan Mode.
- Branch menus now fit the window and scroll. Picking a remote branch checks it out correctly.
- The signed-out Account page has a cleaner, centered sign-in layout.
Downloads
- Windows: x64 installer.
- macOS: Apple Silicon (arm64) and Intel (x64), DMG or ZIP.
- Linux: x64 AppImage or Debian package.
