Locust 0.837.0
Released October 27, 2026.
New
- Write from your phone while your computer is off. Paired from anywhere, your phone keeps the conversations it last saw and still shows them with your computer off, saying when it last saw them. A message you write then waits, sealed on Locust's relay so the relay cannot read it, for up to a week, and Locust sends it as your next message when your computer is back. Take back takes it off the relay, and twenty can wait at once. One written more than twelve hours before Locust is back, or whose conversation is gone, is not sent by itself: your phone shows it with Send now, Copy or Discard.
- What needs you reaches Discord, Slack or Telegram. Once a chat app is paired, turn on Tell me here when something needs me in its Settings. While you are away from the window, a card waiting on you, from any conversation, comes there with Allow once and Deny, and so do Scout's urgent finds and a teammate that hits its limit, by the same rules as your phone's alerts: merged, a few a day, and held in quiet hours. Always stays in Locust. Each card says what it asks to do and the first line of its file or command. The app's servers can read that, with anything shaped like a key taken out.
- Claude Code can ask before each action. Approve each action now runs on Claude Code teammates too: every file change, command and connector call waits on a card for Allow once, Always or Deny before it runs, as it already did on Codex, OpenCode and Copilot.
- Council review: three AIs check one change. Routines > Start from a template > Council review hands the changes in your folder not yet committed to three teammates, each proposed on a different AI where your team has one: the first reviews, the second reviews too and agrees or disagrees with each finding, and the third settles them, keeping what at least two would stand behind, and approves only if nothing must change. It changes no file. Who takes each step shows in the editor before you save it. After tstack's council.
Improved
- The message box is one row. As in Claude Code: the + left of where you type, and voice typing, Talk and send right of it. One line is half the height it was. A longer message still grows the box, and the buttons stay on its last line.
Fixed
- Codex's commands read as they run on Windows. An approval card and the Board showed the program's path with every backslash doubled. They now show it the way the shell gets it, and the rest of the command exactly as Codex sent it.
- A long command wraps at its spaces. On an approval card and the Board, a command too long for one line could break between a flag's dash and its name, so
-Commandread as-andCommand. A flag now stays whole, and the command copies exactly as sent.

New
- Verbose shows every step. In a conversation, ··· then Verbose, or Ctrl+O, opens every run's steps and each tool call's detail. Normal folds them again. The choice stays with this window.
- Right-click a file path. On a path in an answer, a changed file, a step that names a file, or the file viewer's title, right-click to add it to your next message, open it in VS Code or Cursor when that editor is on your PATH, open a document, picture, sound or video in its usual app (never a file that app would run), show it in Explorer, Finder or the file manager, or copy the path, the path from the folder, or the file name. A path outside the conversation's folder can only be copied.
Improved
- The message box is quieter. The kind of message, the mode, the folder, the usage ring and the model sit under the box as plain words. The model and its effort are one control, such as Haiku 5.5 · Medium, and opening it lists the models with the effort choice at the foot. The send button keeps its look. Comparing models still sets each one's effort on its own.
- Keyboard shortcuts, in one sheet. Ctrl+/ lists them, grouped. Ctrl+Shift+M, Ctrl+Shift+I and Ctrl+Shift+E open the mode, model and effort of the conversation on screen. With a menu open, 1 through 9 picks a row. The command palette lists Keyboard shortcuts too.

New
- A routine starts when its private link is called. In the routine, choose When a link is called. Your phone, from anywhere has to be on. The link is a password: anyone who has it can start that routine, and the routine always runs in Ask, so it reads and changes nothing. What they send passes through Locust's relay readable, unlike sealed phone traffic, and is kept there until your computer collects it, at most a week. Do not send secrets.
- Kilo is an agent, in Preview. A new conversation starts on Auto Free, which needs no account. Auto Free may route requests to providers that log prompts and outputs and use them to improve their services. Do not submit personal or confidential data.
- Compare works from a browser. Start a comparison, ask again, run it again, have it judged and keep a column, using the models a browser can already run.
- More settings and branch work from a browser. Change the look, groups, individual memories and Scout's notes, tune-up and settings, draft and make a commit, and land a teammate's branch or begin its merge. Scout's preparing fixes, the folder's own permissions, forgetting every memory at once, pushing, opening a pull request and throwing a branch away still stay on your computer.
- Answer a command from the Board. A conversation in Needs you shows the whole command and where it would run, with Allow once and Deny right there. A file change, connector or question opens the conversation for its full card; Always stays there too.
- See what a teammate handed out. Under a turn that sent work to other teammates, Handed out lists who has each ask, its live state and Open to reach its conversation. The full peer exchanges stay beside it.
- OpenCode teammates can use their kept keys. Keys you keep for a teammate now reach its OpenCode turns, as they already do for Claude Code and Cursor.
Improved
- Account default fits its row. Its explanation in the model picker now reads "The model your account picks for you" on one line.
- Muse Code is no longer marked Preview. Its row in the model picker and Settings reads like every other agent's: it has now finished whole paid runs with dozens of tool calls each, the step its Preview label was waiting on.
- Changed files are easier to scan. Each row leads with a mark for its kind and the file's own name, with its folder beside it when two rows share a name and its path in the hover. Long file lists under finished turns show five rows and Show N more, and new, deleted, renamed and large are quiet words beside the name.
- Home makes more room in a short window. The illustration shrinks a little and the team cards sit closer together, leaving more room for the chat box and conversation starters. Taller windows keep their existing layout.
Fixed
- Codex says when a conversation is open elsewhere. If the Codex app or a Codex in a terminal already has it open, Locust says to close it there and run it again, instead of showing the whole log.
- Scout says why GitHub was not read. What Scout saw distinguishes a folder that is not on GitHub from a signed-out or missing GitHub CLI. Where signing in or installing can fix it, it points to Settings > Connectors > GitHub.
- Your own agent no longer stops at its first 200 models. The model picker now keeps up to 1,000 models the agent offers, so a longer list can include models that used to disappear.

New
- Locust in a browser opens at once. Opened again, app.locust.lol/desk shows straight away the conversations, team and turns it showed last time, under a thin line saying it is what Locust last showed and when, and opens live as soon as your computer answers. With your computer off or the relay out of reach, you can still read what it last showed; nothing can be changed from it until it is live. What the browser keeps is sealed with a key the browser itself holds and will not hand out, and forgetting the pairing forgets it too.
- Routines, teammates and rooms from a browser. Locust in a browser now makes, edits, runs, pauses and removes routines, keeps or discards what a routine changed in its copy, makes, edits and removes teammates, and makes rooms, posts to them and moves their board. What opens something on your computer -- choosing a folder, importing or exporting a file -- and what a teammate may spend, its folder, connectors, skills and keys are still changed only in Locust on your computer, and the browser says so.
- Routines as Markdown files. Export a routine and you get
Name.routine.md: what it asks for and where it runs at the top, then its name and each step in its own words, under## Step 1,## Step 2and so on. Read it, share it, edit it in any editor, and import it again -- Locust reads it with the same checks as before, and still reads the older.locust-routine.jsonfiles.
Improved
- Big token counts read as billions. Usage now writes 1.1B instead of 1133M, and a count about to read as a thousand of one unit is written as one of the next (1.0B, never 1000M).
- A key asked for reads as one line. When a teammate asks for a key, its answer now says "Asks for the key NAME (below)", and the reason it gave is on the card with the box, instead of standing alone in the answer.

New
- Keys a teammate needs. A teammate that needs a key -- to charge a test card, post to a channel, call a private API -- asks for it by name, and a card under its answer has a masked box and Keep. Or add one yourself in the teammate's settings, under Keys. A key is kept encrypted on your computer for that teammate alone, and only its own turns get it, as an environment variable of that name: never another teammate, a cloud turn or Scout's sealed looks. Its brief names the key, never its value, and if a command prints the value, Locust takes it out of everything it records and shows. Names an agent signs in with, like ANTHROPIC_API_KEY or GITHUB_TOKEN, are refused, so a teammate never pays with a key instead of your plan. Keys reach Claude Code and Cursor teammates for now; other agents follow once each is tested.
Fixed
- Antigravity waiting on a stuck helper no longer hides as thinking. A turn whose helper had stalled showed "Thought for 5m" over and over while each wake-up quietly re-read the whole conversation and used up quota. Now those rows say "Waiting on its helper", with when it last moved; the third time a turn re-reads the whole conversation with nothing reused, Locust says how much quota that has cost and to press Stop; and a model that stops answering for five minutes is said in words.

New
- Your teammates in Discord. Write to your teammates from Discord, while Locust is open on your computer. Make an application of your own in Discord's Developer Portal, paste its bot's token in Settings > General > Chat apps, add the bot to a server of yours, and send it the eight-digit code Settings shows: that pairs your account. Then type
/in your messages with the bot and pick a teammate from Discord's own list, or write a name and a colon ("Ada: check the build"); the answer comes back as a reply, with the bot typing while your teammate works. After that, just write, and a reply to an older answer carries that conversation on. A card from a turn you started there comes with Allow once and Deny buttons; Always stays on your computer. The bot reads only its direct messages, so you turn nothing on in the Developer Portal, and only your account is answered. - Your teammates in Slack. The same in Slack. Settings' Create the app in Slack opens Slack with the app already filled in: pick your workspace, install it, and paste its two tokens. Send the Locust app the code Settings shows, then write "Ada: check the build". Your message is marked with 👀 while Ada works, the answer comes back in the chat, and a reply in an answer's thread carries that conversation on in the thread. "who", "new" and "waiting" work as in the other apps, and cards come with Allow once and Deny.
Improved
- Chat apps, in one place. Discord, Slack and Telegram are rows of one Chat apps section in Settings > General, each Off until you press Set up, and each walks you through its steps where they are done. A teammate's name and a colon now writes to it in Telegram too.
- Chat tokens are never repeated. A Discord bot's token, a Slack app's token and a Telegram bot's token are now among the shapes Locust takes out of anything sent to a chat app, kept in a memory, or saved in a record.

New
- Your teammates in Telegram. Write to your teammates from Telegram, wherever you are, while Locust is open on your computer. Make a bot of your own with Telegram's @Botfather, paste its token in Settings > General > Telegram, and press Start in the chat its link opens:
/adaand a message reaches Ada, and the answer comes back in the chat as a reply, with the bot typing while Ada works. After that, just write; it goes to the same teammate and carries the conversation on, and a reply to an older answer carries that one on./newstarts a fresh conversation,/wholists your teammates and/waitingshows the cards waiting on you. A card from a turn you started there comes to the chat with Allow once and Deny; Always stays on your computer. Only the chat that paired is answered, and anyone else who finds the bot is ignored. The token is kept encrypted on your computer. Telegram's servers can read what is written there, so Locust takes out anything shaped like a key before it sends, and Settings says so. A message that arrived while Locust was closed starts nothing; the chat says so, and you send it again. - A new teammate interviews you. An empty Instructions box asked you to know how to brief a teammate before it had done anything. Now the New teammate window offers Let it interview you instead: the teammate's first conversation opens with your ask, it asks you a few short questions one at a time, and then writes its own standing instructions. They come on a card under its answer, in a box you can change, with Save; nothing is kept until you press it, and a key in them is refused. The interview's first turn runs in Ask, so it reads and changes nothing. An existing teammate's window offers the interview again.

New
- Locust in a browser. The whole window, in any browser, driven by your computer: open app.locust.lol/desk on a laptop, a tablet or a work computer, and it is the same Locust, your conversations, teammates and Board, sending messages that run on your computer and streaming their answers back. Pair the browser as you pair a phone (Settings > General > Your phone; a computer opens the code's link instead of scanning it, with Copy the link), then turn on Full window for it there. The browser loads your version's own window from Locust's relay, never code from your computer, and everything it sends and hears is sealed between the two, as your phone's is. While a browser has the window, your computer's window says Locust is open in a browser, with Use Locust here to take it back; one window acts at a time, so nothing runs twice. What stays on your computer stays there: signing agents in, permissions and the rules that grant them, the organization's policy, spending, the terminal, installing, and pairing more devices.
Improved
- A browser is named for what it is. A paired computer's browser shows in Settings as Chrome on Windows or Safari on Mac rather than Browser, and the phone's page links to the full window.

New
- Scout looks while your computer is off. Turn on Look while my computer is off in Settings > General, under Scout, and Locust opens a pull request in your folder's GitHub repository adding a small workflow and the one file it runs; merge it and it is on. With your computer off, the workflow does Scout's GitHub look every hour (every two on a private repository, about 360 of its 2,000 free Actions minutes a month), with its own read-only token, and leaves what it found at Locust's relay, sealed with a key only your devices have. Your phone shows it under While your computer is off, buzzes for what can't wait, never in your quiet hours, and brings the morning brief. With Locust open it does nothing more, and when your computer is back the cards are on Home, marked as found while your PC was off, told already, and in What Scout saw. It needs Your phone, from anywhere on, and an owner or admin of the repository to add its secret. Off deletes the secret and turns the workflow off.
- Scout's cards on your phone. A Scout alert used to open a page with no Scout on it. The phone now lists Scout's cards in Locust's own words, newest first, with Open on GitHub and Dismiss. What a card quotes, Scout's model's take and a teammate's draft stay on your computer.
Fixed
- Scout's looks are not conversations on your phone. The phone listed a look of Scout's, which began "You are Scout", among your conversations; the window never has. It no longer does.

New
- Scout prepares the fix before you look. Turn on Prepare fixes before I look in Settings > General, under Scout, pick the teammate who prepares them, and when the folder's check starts failing that teammate fixes it in a copy of your folder while Scout's card says so. Locust runs the check there again, and the card then reads "Fix ready: 2 files changed, the check passes", with Review, Apply and Skip; or, when it couldn't, what was missing, in the teammate's words. Apply brings the change into your folder beside your own edits, and says so when you changed the same files since, with Prepare again. Nothing reaches your folder before Apply, and from the copy nothing can push, add a remote or use gh; opening a pull request stays your step. It runs on that teammate's plan, so it is off until you turn it on, at most two a day unless you change it, two tries and 30 minutes a fix, and Scout's today line counts them.
- What Scout saw. Scout writes down every look for 14 days: what it raised, what it set aside and why (told you already, or past the three new issues a look raises), the watches it didn't read, when GitHub couldn't be read, and looks not taken in quiet hours. Settings > General shows it under Scout, newest first, with a filter for what it left out, and a card that was kept off your phone says why. Ask Scout in its own conversation "why didn't you tell me about #42?" and it answers from that record, naming the look, with no tools.
Fixed
- A fourth new issue is raised. Scout raises three new issues a look, and they were always the three newest, told or not, so a fourth stayed untold for as long as three newer ones were open. It now raises the newest it hasn't told you about.
