Librarian-AP v3.0.0

Choose how books arrive, and what earns a check

How books reach you and what earns a check are now two settings, unlock_mode and
check_mode, and every pairing works. One exception: individual_book_unlocks with
series checks is switched to booksanity, since 3,072 items cannot sit in 400 row checks.

2.x YAMLs do not carry over: regenerate your template. unlock_mode: booksanity is
now unlock_mode: individual_book_unlocks with check_mode: booksanity. A 2.0.3 run in
progress keeps working on 3.0.0.

New

  • unlock_mode: random_book_bundle: each bundle hands you the next books_per_bundle
books, drawn from anywhere in the library. numbered_book_bundles makes each one its
own item (host must allow it).
  • check_mode: count: a Shelved N Books check every check_interval correctly
shelved books. Taking a book off a shelf takes it off the count.
  • Numbered series bundles: Series Bundle 3 and so on, so you can hint the one you want.
  • bookcase_unlocks: bookcases open one at a time, a section at a time, or all at once.
  • magic_skills_enabled: leave out any magic skill, with its Mastery and Fatigue.
  • count_bundle_preference: with book bundles and count checks, pick whether the
bundle size or the check interval gives way.
  • The game's real ending: reaching your goal opens the way to the library door. Use
it to play the ending and send the goal; otherwise it sends on its own after five
minutes, with a reminder each minute.
  • Universal Tracker: /get_logical_path names the bundle behind any book or row check.
  • F8 writes a report of every section to the log, and the HUD shows a summary.
  • Count checks name a book that does not count: a book left in a wrong slot, or on
another section's shelf, is named on the HUD until it moves.
  • Out-of-order full rows are named on the HUD.
  • Books that spawn on a shelf land on the floor in front of it when revealed.
  • One log file per launch in Mods\Librarian-AP\logs\.
  • Host settings in host.yaml: allow_individual_book_unlocks and
allow_numbered_book_bundles, for the two shapes that are slow to generate.
  • Grouped options in the template and the web options page.
  • The connect shortcut is now F9, not F12, which Steam uses for screenshots.

Fixes since 2.0.3

  • Assemble no longer pulls locked books into your bag, only for the mod to take them
    straight back out.
  • "Correctly shelve N books", Section Complete, Floor Complete and a book-counted custom
goal could fire from locations other players collected in your world. They now count
only books and rows actually on your shelves.
  • A Reached Level check could wait for the next load. Levels now read the bookcases.
  • A custom goal under booksanity showed its progress in rows; it now counts books.
  • A save the mod refused could still send the goal; it now follows the same rule as checks.
  • A refused save says what to do. If only its book layout differs from the run's last
    save, F7 accepts it.
  • With every AP save slot in use, a new run could overwrite one of your saves; it now
refuses and says which to delete.
  • The connect window no longer collapses on some screens, and reopening it with F4 fills
in your saved server and slot again.
  • Green ghost books no longer show on every shelf.
  • Row checks send as soon as a swap lands, not up to 12 seconds later.
  • The HUD no longer shows bare location numbers (→ loc 1910133) for some checks.
  • Universal Tracker now matches seeds with series_per_unlock of 3 and custom goals.

Updating

Extract the zip and drop Librarian/ into your Steam install (overwrite). Drop
librarian.apworld into your Archipelago custom_worlds/ folder. Both are
required.
The title screen should read LibAP v3.0.0.

If something breaks

Press F8, then send that session's log from Mods\Librarian-AP\logs\, your YAML's
Librarian: section, and one line on what you were doing.
