Bug: -tools mode gui inexplicably darkens in unknown conditions

Describe the bug

i run into this at random when i use the engine tools. no idea what causes it, only seems to happen when i spend time doing things outside the -tools GUI, and then swap back to it.

the amount of vignetting varies, sometimes the gui is completely dark and invisible.

i only ever use the particle editor, so maybe has something to do with that????

never been able to replicate this on purpose, only accidentally

1. launch game in -tools mode
2. ???
3. observe the problem
