StreamNook v8.8.5

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 07 Oct 04:49

[8.8.5] - 2026-10-06

✨ Features

  • Docked chats can sit in a row of tabs under the chat header, one click to switch. Turn it on in Settings > Chat > Docked Chats > Menu style. When the tabs don't all fit, hover the row or click its pin to unfold every tab in place.
  • Docked chat tabs show each chat's platform when you have chats from more than one.
  • TikTok chat can join combined chat. The chat header shows one button with every source's logo, and its menu turns each source on or off.
  • A sound can play when someone mentions you, with its own volume and a switch for replies to you.
  • @mentions in chat can be bold or regular, italic or upright, plain text or a pill, in any color.
  • Upload your own notification and mention sounds, in more audio formats, and set how loud they play.
  • The emote menu can pop out into its own window beside the chat. It can stay on top, and a picked emote goes in at your cursor with the chat box ready to send.
  • Channel point rewards you can't redeem right now say why: paused, out of stock, on cooldown (with a countdown), over the stream's limit, or not enough points. The redeem button stays greyed out until it works.
  • Middle-click a stream on Home or in the sidebar to open it in MultiNook.
  • Each MultiNook tile can have its own Audio Boost. Tiles you haven't changed follow the main player.
  • A setting you've changed shows a reset arrow beside its name. Click it to go back to the default.
  • Settings are reorganized into a section per feature, with short row names. Options that depend on another sit under it, and search finds them there.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Some low-latency streams froze their picture for a few seconds every few minutes while the sound kept going.
  • 7TV emotes showed as plain text after switching back to a docked chat.
  • Zero-width 7TV emotes stack on top of the emote before them.
  • Kick, YouTube and TikTok messages in combined chat show their own channel's emotes, and so do reply previews.
  • YouTube emotes next to a line break show as emotes.
  • Badges line up with the name on messages with emotes and on bits messages, and StreamNook badges match the size of the others.
  • Notification sounds play with the Dynamic Island turned off.
  • Link previews and the docked chat search no longer flicker.
  • Messages that slide in no longer twitch as they land.
  • The Prism theme no longer draws a box behind the Back button in a profile card's recent messages.
  • Channel point redemptions show in chat with the channel's emotes. A reward named something like "Cheer100" no longer turns into bits.
  • A channel keeps its emotes when an emote provider rate-limits StreamNook. FFZ emotes are back for channels that changed their name.
  • 7TV emote changes on Kick and YouTube channels show up live, and the rest of the set stays while it reloads.
  • Kick emotes are no longer downloaded twice.
  • Song ID remembers its capture length and retry settings.
  • Large viewer counts read "136K" instead of "136.0K".

⚡ Performance

  • The emote menu opens faster. Emoji load in blocks, and animated emotes pause while you scroll.
  • Chat windows no longer load the whole emote cache list to find an emote on disk.
  • Emote prefetching stays under Twitch's rate limit.

Installation

  1. Download StreamNook.7z
  2. Extract the .7z file
  3. Run StreamNook.exe

@github-actions github-actions released this 04 Oct 05:56

[8.8.4] - 2026-10-03

✨ Features

  • Dock chats beside the stream you're watching, as many as you like, without opening MultiNook. The chat header shows which chat is on screen and opens a list of the rest, with each channel's category and viewers. A chat that mentioned you shows a count, and one with new messages shows a dot.
  • The chat list's search finds any channel on Twitch, Kick or YouTube, followed or not.
  • Your pinned chat becomes your first docked chat.
  • The viewers list uses Twitch's own broadcaster, moderator and VIP badges, and always lists the broadcaster.
  • Ctrl+Alt+P opens the chat list, and Ctrl+Alt+Down and Up move between chats.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Streamer About panels show their formatting. Bold text, links, lists, headings and images render instead of showing as raw text.
  • Badges in chat and on profiles are one size, with even spacing.
  • A profile card's recent messages keep the Back to profile button in reach.
  • The floating chat remembers its opacity.
  • Searching a streamer's exact name puts them first, and live channels show as live.
  • Viewer counts and categories show up as soon as a chat opens. They could stay blank until the numbers changed.
  • The sidebar's favorite heart sits under the viewer count, so the counts line up.

⚡ Performance

  • Opening many chats at once stays under Twitch's join limit.
  • A chat you haven't looked at for a few minutes frees its emotes.

Installation

  1. Download StreamNook.7z
  2. Extract the .7z file
  3. Run StreamNook.exe

[8.8.3] - 2026-10-03

One main stage

✨ Features

  • MultiNook can put one stream on a main stage, with the rest in a row below it or a column beside it. A slider sets how big the small tiles are, and presets remember their layout.
  • Any MultiNook stream can be made the main one, and every stream keeps playing while they move.
  • Small MultiNook tiles can play at a lower quality to save bandwidth.
  • MultiNook tiles have a LIVE button that jumps back to the live edge.
  • Click the viewer count to see who's in chat. Moderators get the full list. Everyone else sees Twitch's public list plus anyone who chatted in the last 30 minutes.
  • Pin a chat so it stays when you switch streams. The pin switch shows each streamer's picture.
  • Deleted messages can show in italics with a tag saying why they were removed.
  • Visual chat settings show a live preview, and hovering an option previews it.
  • New installs start with combined chat, larger text, messages that slide in and italic deleted messages. If you never changed those settings, you get the new look too.
  • A badge's page lists the channels taking part in its drop campaign.
  • Sub-only drops list the live channels you can earn them on, like watch drops.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • MultiNook's Resync lines the streams up and keeps them together.
  • MultiNook's uptime no longer restarts every time you switch chats.
  • MultiChat's @ counts include replies. Kick and YouTube tabs no longer count mentions from a Twitch chat with the same name.
  • Jump to message finds the right chat pane.
  • The chat header keeps everything one size and compacts step by step when space runs out, instead of cutting things off.
  • Click-through no longer traps the floating chat.
  • Bonus chests are claimed whichever chat is on screen.
  • Emote previews open faster, and tooltips no longer slide their full height into place.
  • Drop campaigns you already finished still list their channels.
  • New cosmetics show up without restarting the app.

⚡ Performance

  • Chats you can't see, like hidden MultiChat tabs, MultiNook tiles and the other side of a pin, cost almost nothing until you look at them.
  • MultiNook checks stream titles in the background, and changing a tile's volume no longer re-saves the whole grid.

Installation

  1. Download StreamNook.7z
  2. Extract the .7z file
  3. Run StreamNook.exe

@github-actions github-actions released this 30 Sep 19:52

[8.8.2] - 2026-09-30

✨ Features

  • Subs you've gifted now show on your profile, with their own switch in profile visibility.
  • Messages sent and channel points on your profile now include your Twitch history from before you joined, as hours watched already did. There's no longer a switch to leave it out.
  • The BetterTTV tab shows all 25 BetterTTV Pro badge designs.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Profile cards show the Twitch badge someone is wearing now. They could show one that person had already swapped out.
  • Replying to your own chat message works again. Twitch was refusing those replies.
  • Full screen stays on through a raid, an auto-switch, a quality change or switching platforms. It used to get stuck.
  • Chat overlays, MultiChat and plugin windows open at the right size and position on scaled displays. They could open as a thin sliver at the edge of the screen.
  • Glassiness at 0% makes every surface solid. Some panels and hover states stayed see-through.
  • The channel search in plugin settings no longer gets cut off at the bottom of its card, and opens upward when there's more room above.

🔧 Maintenance

  • The badge gallery gets badge details from a daily shared copy again, so it doesn't look up each new badge one at a time.

Installation

  1. Download StreamNook.7z
  2. Extract the .7z file

🎉 New: Twitch Recap hours on your profile, and raids in MultiNook

Your profile now counts the hours Twitch Recap recorded before you joined
StreamNook, with nothing to set up. MultiNook tiles show where a streamer
raided and add that channel in one click, and full screen while watching
shows only the stream and chat.

✨ Features

  • Twitch Recap hours on your profile. The hours Twitch Recap recorded before you joined StreamNook count toward your hours watched. They fill in on their own a few minutes after you open the app, and a switch in your profile settings takes them back off.
  • Raids in MultiNook. When a streamer in your grid raids someone, their tile shows who they raided, with a button to add that channel.
  • A quality menu on every tile. Every MultiNook tile has its own quality menu. Before, only the focused tile had one.
  • Stream-only full screen. Full screen while watching shows only the stream and chat. Move your cursor to the top edge to bring the title bar back, or turn this off in Interface settings.
  • Keep your atmosphere out of chat. Your atmosphere can stay on your profile and hover card without showing behind your chat messages. The switch sits under your atmospheres.
  • Frames around the whole card. An equipped frame now borders your whole profile card.
  • Chat beside the video on phones. In landscape, chat can sit beside the video in a column you can resize, and the system bars stay hidden while you watch.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • The GIF picker loads GIFs and can send them. It was asking Twitch with a sign-in Twitch rejects, so the grid stayed empty.
  • Drops that Twitch accepts but never grants, such as rewards that need a linked game account, are no longer shown as claimed. StreamNook tries them again every hour.
  • The StreamNook badge sits after your other badges on your profile card and on the phone profile, the same as in chat.
  • Hiding the line about your hours now hides it on your public profile too.
  • Profile cards no longer repeat "StreamNook Member" under your rank when you wear the default badge.
  • Home's tabs and the notification island no longer slide under the title bar buttons in a narrow window. The tabs switch to icons when space runs out.
  • Glassiness at 0% gives a solid background over a playing stream.
  • Clicking the chat header no longer clicks names under it, and scrolling over it still scrolls chat.
  • Opening or switching a MultiChat pane no longer strips paints and badges from the other panes.
  • Profile visibility and atmosphere changes made in the app show on your public page right away.

Installation

Every emote, one Tab

✨ Features

  • Tab in chat can open a list of every emote you can use, with where each one comes from. It narrows as you type and matches the middle of names too, so "love" finds a channel emote like vulpLove. A button at the top of the list switches Tab to the carousel, and one on the carousel switches it back. Typing a colon and two letters opens the same list.
  • Stream cards, the sidebar and the hover card show when a channel shares its chat with other channels, with their faces. Channels streaming together show their faces and "Together" in place of the old "+2", and one click still opens everyone in MultiNook.
  • More drops show up in the Drops center: drops that take several days, subscription rewards, and mystery rewards like the Pokémon balls. Each shows Twitch's own progress, such as the day you're on and your minutes today, and a mystery reward gets an Open button. A drop that counts in several categories finds live channels in all of them.
  • A "Claim automatically" switch sits in your drops inventory. Turn it off and finished drops wait for you to claim them.
  • In combined chat you can leave one of a streamer's linked channels out of their feed without unlinking it or switching that platform off everywhere.
  • You can build and preview an OBS overlay without signing in. Signing in is only needed for the OBS link, and your overlay is still there afterwards.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Badges sit in the order Twitch shows them: role first, then subscription, then what someone earned in the channel, then global badges. That holds in chat, VOD chat replay and profile cards.
  • Messages you send keep your subscriber badge and your other channel badges.
  • A channel points redemption shows the redeemer's channel badges and name colour, the same as their chat messages.
  • On sub, gift and cheer cards, the 7TV badge lines up with the badges next to it instead of sitting lower.
  • 7TV personal emotes show for more chatters, and messages sent before someone's personal emotes loaded switch over once they arrive.
  • FrankerFaceZ badges show in their colours, and bots flagged by FrankerFaceZ wear Twitch's Chat Bot badge.
  • Hovering a StreamNook member badge names it once ("StreamNook Member", not "StreamNook StreamNook Member").
  • Hiding someone from their profile card clears the messages they already sent, not only the ones after, in that channel or everywhere depending on which you picked. Turning on "Hide known bots" clears theirs the same way.
  • Hiding someone from a popped-out profile card no longer unhides everyone else you had hidden, and the card's buttons show whether that person is already hidden.
  • Opening Global Cosmetics no longer blanks the badge grid and loads it all over again a moment after it appears.
  • Placing a prediction no longer counts your bet twice in the points shown.
  • The channel points summary lists a channel once, even when a chest claim and watch points arrive together.
  • Clicking a platform in the chat header no longer switches it off for every streamer, and platforms that got switched off that way are back on. When a streamer turns up on both Kick and YouTube, both suggestions show, and they wait behind the + in the chat header instead of opening over chat.
  • Polls, predictions and the pinned message no longer cover the chat header when a hype train makes it taller, and a pinned message sits under a live poll so you can read both.

🔧 Maintenance

  • Your saved sign-ins are now encrypted, with the key kept in Windows Credential Manager or the macOS Keychain. Existing sign-ins move over the first time you open this version. If the keyring can't be reached, a note under Accounts says so.
  • Plugins can build full settings pages that match the rest of Settings.
  • The chat header and the Home navigation strip are restyled, with the selected tab set into the glass as a darker pill.

⚡ Performance

  • StreamNook reuses its network connections instead of opening new ones for most requests, so streams, sign-ins, badges and panels start faster.
  • Emoji images are saved on disk and fetched once, and an emoji the server doesn't have isn't asked for again.
  • Stream titles convert emoji codes for a whole page at once, and settings are read once at startup instead of twice.
  • The Drops center loads campaigns and your inventory at the same time.

Installation

  1. Download StreamNook.7z
  2. Extract the .7z file

@github-actions github-actions released this 25 Sep 00:55

[8.7.1] - 2026-09-24

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Low-latency channels play about half a second closer to live again, level with twitch.tv. The live-edge slider now goes down to 1 second.
  • Scrolling up in combined chat pauses it properly, so messages stop sliding up while you read.
  • Combined chat no longer gets flooded with a burst of old YouTube messages, and a batch of catch-up messages no longer plays the entrance animation all at once.
  • A pinned message no longer covers the combined chat bar or the "same streamer?" question under it.
  • Clicking a settings search result takes you to that setting and highlights it. The command palette now opens the right section instead of the top of the tab.

🔧 Maintenance

  • Chat settings are reorganized. Pinned messages, names and badges, and mentions and replies have their own sections, the YouTube settings sit together, and every emote option is under Emotes.
  • Linux builds publish again.

🎉 New: TikTok LIVE, one chat for multistreamers, and Linux

TikTok LIVE joins Twitch, Kick and YouTube: watch it, see when the creators you
follow go live, and chat as your account. Link a streamer's channels across
platforms and their chats merge into the one you are watching. StreamNook also
ships for Linux now, as an AppImage that updates itself.

✨ Features

  • TikTok LIVE. Watch a TikTok LIVE on its own or in the MultiNook grid, browse a Top live feed, and sign in to open age-restricted rooms. Signed in, the creators you follow appear in Following and the sidebar when they go live, with go-live alerts, and you can chat as your account.
  • One chat for a streamer on several platforms. Link a streamer's Twitch, Kick and YouTube channels, and a bar under the chat header merges their other platforms into the feed you are watching. Replies go back to the platform the message came from.
  • Following and Discover across every platform. Channels you follow anywhere share one list, and Discover shows who is live on the other platforms, with their categories.
  • See who a channel is streaming with. When streamers share a stream on Twitch, the group and its combined viewer count show on the stream, and one click opens all of them in MultiNook.
  • VOD chapters and seek previews. A VOD's category changes show as chapters on the seek bar and in a chapter list, and hovering the bar previews that moment. The broadcast timeline scrubs more finely too.
  • StreamNook member profiles. Clicking a StreamNook member's name opens their full profile: atmosphere, frame, relics, stats, accolades and every badge they own, next to the usual Twitch details and actions. Hovering the name decodes their member number.
  • Chat, styled your way. New options for event rows (with custom wording and per-platform filters), badges, how messages arrive, emoji style, emote extras, replies and links. You can also hide commands and ring first-time chatters, and name colors stay readable on any background.
  • Linux. StreamNook now builds for Linux as an AppImage, and it installs its own updates.
  • Design your OBS overlay on the web. The overlay builder in Settings is the same one at streamnook.app/overlays, and both edit the same overlays.
  • Your Twitch badge standing shows without a Drops sign-in, with an estimate of the subs and hours it takes to earn the badges you are missing.
  • Release notes moved from Settings into the changelog popup, and the title bar checks for updates every half hour.
  • Snippets are part of your settings now, so a backup carries them.
  • Streams that arrive framed, like TikTok co-host views, zoom to the picture they actually carry.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Your chat messages show the moment you send them, and your replies are recognized as yours.
  • Sub notices show Twitch's gift art, and chat defaults to Twitch's own size: 14px text with 4px spacing.
  • Sorting badges by Newest, Oldest, Available or Coming soon follows the real dates.
  • Saving a setting in one window no longer undoes a change another window just saved.
  • Whispers that arrive while StreamNook sits in the tray are kept.
  • A keyword reminder fires once per message instead of once per open window.
  • A profile card keeps showing every 7TV cosmetic someone owns after its first open.
  • Clearing the cache no longer leaves broken images in MultiChat windows.
  • Channel badges such as broadcaster and subscriber no longer count among someone's own badges.
  • 7TV renews its sign-in before it expires, and the plugin marketplace says why it is empty instead of blaming the network.

⚡ Performance

  • Spell checking, 7TV cosmetics lookups, image caching, hype train updates and the activity feed history now run once in the app's core instead of in every window, so MultiChat windows use less memory.
  • Profile cards open about a third faster and fill in as each part arrives.

🔧 Maintenance

  • The app reports its version periodically instead of only at sign-in. Settings > Support lists what it sends.

Installation

  1. Download StreamNook.7z
  2. Extract the .7z file
  3. Run StreamNook.exe

StreamNook v8.6.4

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 18 Sep 23:23

[8.6.4] - 2026-09-18

🎉 New: a fresh look

StreamNook's chrome has been rebuilt around the player: a floating navigation
strip, softer surfaces, and a glow that follows the colours on screen. The
notification center moved into the title bar, and the MultiNook and MultiChat
controls moved there with it, so they work from any view instead of only from
Home.

✨ Features

  • A new look. Softer surfaces, a floating navigation strip, and a glow behind the player driven by the colours actually on screen.
  • Notifications now live in the title bar. The notification center moved out of the centre of the window and into the title bar, where the trigger shows stacked faces for what is waiting. A channel that goes live on two platforms now collapses into a single entry carrying both marks instead of two identical rows, and plugin messages carry their own mark rather than the generic status glyph.
  • MultiNook and MultiChat from anywhere. Both moved out of Home's tab strip into the title bar, so they are reachable from any view rather than only one page.
  • Switch YouTube channel. If your YouTube account owns more than one channel, Accounts now lets you switch between them. Each channel has its own subscriptions, and StreamNook follows the one you pick.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • YouTube: StreamNook now acts as the channel you chose. If your account owns more than one channel it always signed in as the default one, showing the wrong name and reading a different channel's subscriptions. Reading, chatting and moderating now all follow the channel you are actually on.
  • YouTube: your followed channels have their pictures back. Most pictures in the following list were saved in a form the app could not load, so they showed as broken and were fetched again on every launch. Existing lists repair themselves on the next start.
  • Drops sign-in works again. It failed outright. Signing in now goes through the browser redirect instead of the code flow Twitch stopped accepting.
  • Kick sign-in opens its window again. For some people the button did nothing, because sign-in needed one specific port on your machine to be free. It no longer does.
  • Resizing is smooth with the aspect-ratio lock on. Dragging an edge or corner could stutter and snap back to a size you never asked for. The lock now applies while you drag instead of correcting afterwards, and every edge works.
  • macOS: Discord Rich Presence connects. StreamNook could not find Discord on many Macs and gave up without saying so.
  • macOS: audio boost and song identification no longer silence the stream. The system's video engine will not share stream audio with the app, so those controls now explain that instead of muting playback.

🔧 Maintenance

  • Windows and macOS builds now run in parallel, so releases arrive sooner.
  • A large sweep of dead code: unused modules and packages removed, along with an expired seasonal effect.

Installation

  1. Download StreamNook.7z
  2. Extract the .7z file
  3. Run StreamNook.exe

@github-actions github-actions released this 16 Sep 14:26

[8.6.3] - 2026-09-15

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • macOS: fixed the freeze that needed a Force Quit. The whole app could stop responding, window buttons included, when a background check of your Twitch sign-in coincided with the window repainting. The check no longer blocks the window.
  • macOS: updates now install from inside the app. Until now a Mac would download an update, verify it, then fail to unpack it. This one release still has to be downloaded from the website; after that, updates install themselves.
  • macOS: a window brought back from the menu bar icon has its buttons again. Reopening StreamNook after it was closed to the menu bar gave you a window with no close or minimize controls.
  • macOS: full screen from a zoomed window works. Entering full screen while the window was zoomed could leave StreamNook convinced it was still full screen, so the shortcut stopped doing anything.
  • Signing out of YouTube or Kick, pasting from the clipboard and loading your followed channels no longer run on the window's own thread, so a slow keychain or clipboard cannot freeze the app.
  • Quitting no longer waits without limit for a plugin that will not stop.

🔧 Maintenance

  • macOS: if the window ever stops responding, StreamNook now writes a stack sample next to its log (ui-hang-<time>.txt in the logs folder), so a freeze can be fixed from the report alone. Crashes on background threads are written to the log now too.

Installation

  1. Download StreamNook.7z
  2. Extract the .7z file
  3. Run StreamNook.exe
