Back up and restore your whole OBS

One file holds your scene collections, profiles, plugin settings, themes and OBS settings. Browser caches and logs are skipped, so a setup that fills 563MB on disk backs up to about 500KB.

Backups happen on their own as OBS closes, once a day, keeping the last 10. Your stream key is left out of manual backups by default so they are safe to share, and kept in the automatic ones since those stay on your machine.

Restoring shows you what is in the file first, warns about any plugins you no longer have, saves a safety copy of your current setup, then puts everything back as OBS shuts down.

You do not have to take all of it. Pick which parts come back, and within scene collections pick exactly which ones. Anything you leave unticked is never even unpacked, so restoring 1 lost collection out of 30 writes 1 file.

Backing up also checks every file your scenes point at and tells you which ones are no longer on disk. Those sources are already broken in OBS. Nothing has ever told you which.

Works the same on a normal install or a portable one. Switch it off in Settings > Plugins if you would rather handle backups yourself.

The status bar, on your toolbar

CPU, frame rate, missed frames, recording time, stream time, stream bitrate, recording bitrate and a status message, all as toolbar items you drag on and order how you like.

Each one is an icon and a value with the full name on hover. Turn the icon off if you just want the number. The 2 clocks can show hours from the start instead of changing shape when they pass an hour.

Right click a readout to reset it. Missed frames counts up the whole time OBS is open, so a rough morning used to follow you into the evening's stream. Resetting does not touch OBS's own counter, it just counts from the moment you asked.

Dock the toolbar down the side and every readout stacks, icon above value, so the bar stays as narrow as it was.

Your OBS status bar is untouched. This just puts the same numbers where you actually look.

Edit the toolbar on the toolbar

Right click the toolbar, pick Edit Toolbar, and the bar itself is what you edit. Drag items onto it, drag them along to reorder, drag them off to remove, click anything to change its settings. No separate window guessing at the result. Your existing layout is carried across.

Toolbar buttons that fire WebSocket requests

Pick from the standard obs-websocket requests, from StreamUP's own, or name another plugin's vendor and request by hand. The common ones give you real fields with your scenes, sources and transitions as dropdowns, and there is a raw JSON box for the rest.

Requests that answer back, like GetStats or GetRecordStatus, show the result next to the button and put the full thing on your clipboard. Failures tell you why.

Spacers that fill what is left

Tick Fill available space on a spacer and it stops being a set width and takes whatever the bar has spare. That is how you get buttons on the left and stats hard against the right, and a second one gives you a group in the middle. It is also the first thing to give room back when the bar gets tight, so every spacer you sized by hand keeps the size you gave it.

Scene Organiser

Transition Override in the right click menu, the same as the OBS scene list. Pick a transition and a duration for a scene, or None to clear it. It is stored where OBS stores its own, so an override set here shows up in the OBS scene list and the other way round.

A second Scene Organiser for Aitum's Vertical Canvas plugin, with its own folder layout so your vertical scenes are not mixed in with your main ones. The dock turns up on its own once the vertical canvas is running.

Plugin check

Plugins that are installed but switched off, either in OBS's own Plugin Manager or because OBS is in Safe Mode, used to show up as missing and send you off to download something you already had. They now get their own section telling you where to switch them back on.

Plugins that failed to load get an Open Folder button that opens the folder with the module file highlighted. Hover the status to see why it would not load, pulled from your OBS log.

New WebSocket requests

• CreateBackup takes a backup and reports how many files went in, whether the stream key was included, and how many files your scenes are missing
• GetBackupInfo reports your backup settings and lists the backups you already have
• GetAllSourcesLocked and GetCurrentSceneSourcesLocked read back whether sources are locked
• GetSelectedVisibility reads back whether the selected source is visible

There is no restore request on purpose. Restoring replaces your setup and deserves a look at what is in the file first.

Improvements

• Toolbar alignment. Start, Centre or End, and it works the same way when the toolbar is docked left or right
• Toolbar spacers resize while you edit them. Grab an edge and drag, or type a number
• MultiDocks go narrower. The floor is down from 400px to 120px, and a single wide dock like Twitch chat can no longer hold the whole thing open
• StreamUP windows resize, and small ones size to their contents instead of being inflated to a fixed 420x360
• The mixer mute button shows a muted speaker glyph, so you can tell muted from live at a glance
• Grouping works with a single source selected. It used to need 2, though OBS is happy with 1
• The Adjustment Layer has its own icon in the Add Source list and the audio mixer on OBS 32.2 and newer

Fixes

• Fixed a crash when adding a WebSocket button for a request that takes a scene name. Building the scene dropdown freed the list OBS handed back the wrong way and corrupted memory, so OBS would go down there and then, or a minute later with no crash report
• WebSocket buttons no longer disappear when you finish editing. They saved correctly, then a stale check threw them away the moment the toolbar reloaded
• Toolbar spacers no longer collapse to nothing when the toolbar is docked left or right
• The toolbar sits against the edge of the window it is docked to instead of floating 9px clear of it
• The toolbar is one thickness wherever you dock it. There was 16px of chrome around the buttons that never changed, so Small, Medium and Large barely moved anything. That is down to 6px, so the sizes read as actual sizes now
• Coloured scenes in the Scene Organiser are painted once. The colour was going on up to 3 times over, which stacked into a dark band around a brighter middle
