This release removes ETF price fields that Interactive Brokers has deprecated, adds a status field to provide connection error details, and improves handling of some low memory scenarios.

Requirements

What's new

  • The license agreement has been updated to version 1.1. Each Windows user must accept it: in Setup if you run the installer yourself, otherwise in the Control Panel.
  • ETFNAVHIGH, ETFNAVLOW and ETFFROZENNAVLAST are retired: Interactive Brokers has removed these from TWS and its API.

Connections:

  • A new status field, ConnectionError, returns why a connection is failing, when StreamXLS knows, under any Error display setting: =RTD("Tws.Rtd",, "status", "ConnectionError"), plus any host=, port= or clientid= your other formulas use.
  • With Error display set to NA and Preserve values on disconnect off (the default): account, P&L, position and positions-list formulas again return #N/A during a connection outage, as before v1.1.3, so a total over them returns #N/A; the reason is now in ConnectionError. Reasons that name a fix, such as an invalid port=, still show as text.

Low memory handling:
When Excel's process runs short of memory, a small allocation inside StreamXLS can fail, and at certain moments such a failure could leave cells wrong or stuck; StreamXLS now contains it at several such moments, including the two below. If memory runs out completely, Excel can still fail or close.

  • An error in StreamXLS's background logging or timers could close Excel without warning; StreamXLS now contains those errors.
  • As a workbook opened, a memory failure as StreamXLS began checking your license could leave the check stuck: data formulas entered meanwhile never filled in, and LICENSE_MESSAGE stayed on its "verifying" text. StreamXLS now starts the check again to avoid that.
