First of all... sorry.., sorry..., sorry for not replying sooner! I didn't see the notification about your response in my email—my inbox usually gets flooded with "ads and promotional material" from sites I visit, and I don't check it very often.
I’m absolutely thrilled that you responded to my request! And I don’t just mean that you replied to my message—(I honestly thought it would take at least a couple of months, if you ever replied at all... I guess I’m a "man of little faith"!)—but that you actually answered my plea! And what a response it was! When I read your email, my legs went weak—well, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration!—but I was truly taken aback. And to top it off, you didn't just reply; you’ve already implemented that "feature" into the latest Beta version of the app! I couldn't believe it. When I checked the Beta version—which I downloaded immediately—I almost cried with joy! It’s brilliant, just brilliant!
I’ve tested the "Text-to-Speech" tool—I assume it’s still just a prototype—but as you suggested, using the "Supertonic" engine, it works great! I also tried "Edge TTS," but that didn't work. (I had already downloaded and installed "Edge TTS" on my PC back when I was using the previous version—that’s when I discovered the update that allowed for reading selected lines, which is what prompted me to write to you. To be honest, I actually tried to reach out about this same topic about a year ago via email, but the message wouldn't send, so I didn't try again.)
Honestly, "Supertonic" works wonderfully in the tests I’ve just run, and the voices are truly... ...natural, and very fluid... I must congratulate you on the brilliant and fantastic work you’ve done—and in such a short time, too! I imagine this was an idea you had already been considering, but personally, I believe this represents the "culmination" of an incredible piece of software.
Up until now, I’ve used it quite sporadically to create translated subtitles for videos from courses I’m taking—I was already delighted with the tool! I would then upload those subtitles into a small "TTS" (text-to-speech) video tool I built using AI. (I’m not a programmer—and never will be; it’s just too complex for my brain—but I love it! Thanks to AI, I’ve managed to create a few tools for my own personal use, and I’m really happy about that.) In fact, I was so pleased that in an email I tried to send you earlier—which, as I mentioned, didn't go through—I actually offered to share my little "TTS" tool with you, thinking it might be useful to integrate into your software, "Subtitle Edit." How naive of me! Me, someone who doesn't know how to program, trying to offer guidance to you! Poor me! I later realized that my TTS tool would never have been of any use to you, as I believe "Subtitle Edit" is programmed in C++, whereas my humble app is essentially just HTML, JS, and CSS (well, I have another version using React, but it doesn't really matter).
Apologies again—I’m just getting a bit carried away with my excitement! I simply wanted to thank you personally for this incredible update to "Subtitle Edit." From now on, it’s going to become my go-to "study platform." (And I’m telling Udemy to go to hell—I’ve been asking them for over a year to add a simple TTS reader to their platform, and they’ve completely ignored me!) I truly hope this update helps propel this application to even greater heights... Great! I think many people will be very grateful for this, as there is nothing else like it online. I believe this will be a real turning point for many people like me. Thanks a million again—sorry for my long-windedness! I wish you great success with your tool; it has become one of my go-to pieces of software, and I’ll be using it quite a lot. Even if you don’t add any further adjustments to the TTS feature, it’s already more than enough for me. Thanks again for responding to my request and for integrating the TTS feature into "Subtitle Edit." I think this elevates it from being just the best tool for creating and editing subtitles—which it already was—into an integrated study platform for many people like me. Thanks so much, and best regards.
P.S. Just a small suggestion for a potential future improvement: when switching the player to "full-screen" mode (especially now that this has become my preferred study platform), it always opens on the primary monitor. If you have multiple monitors, it defaults to the main one and cannot be moved to another. This sometimes results in having two separate windows—the main "Subtitle Edit" window and the "full-screen" window. It’s a minor detail, but it would be fantastic to be able to move that "full-screen" view to a different monitor.(Unless, of course, this is already somewhere in the settings and I just haven’t found it yet...) Otherwise, everything is fantastic! Thanks a million! —Jose

He añadido Vídeo → Reproducir con voz... (Play with speech).
Detalles:
* Si una frase hablada es más larga que su subtítulo, se acelera (hasta 1,5x). Si aun así se mete en la siguiente línea, el vídeo espera a que termine, así que no se repite ni se salta ninguna línea.
* El volumen original del vídeo se baja mientras se habla (opcional).
* Puedes pausar y saltar a otra parte del vídeo como siempre; la voz sigue desde la nueva posición.
* La velocidad de la barra de la forma de onda se aplica al vídeo y a la voz.
* Escape para parar.

1. Open the video and the translated subtitle.
2. Choose Video → Play with speech...
3. Pick an engine, voice and language. Supertonic is recommended: it's local, fast and has 31 languages.
Details:
* If a spoken line is longer than its subtitle, it's sped up (up to 1.5x). If it still runs into the next line, the video waits for it to finish, so no line is repeated or skipped.
* The video's own volume is lowered while speaking (optional).
* Pause and seek as usual; the speech continues from the new position.
* The waveform toolbar speed applies to both the video and the speech.
* Escape stops it.
