ITINE-RYO

Japan is one of the BEST places to go on a vacation, but everyone knows the struggle of having to plan out a whole itinerary so your vacation can go smooth as the akura petals. Maybe you'd want a way for your itinerary planning to be much more easier Meet: Itine-Ryo, your personal Japan travel planner app that lets you plan itineraries in Japan with style and ease.

If you're curious about what it does, Itine-Ryo let you do the following:

  • Create and Manage trips with ease
  • Add, update, drag, and delete activities across days in a single trip
  • View and Set Hotel Origins
  • Browse Places based (but not limited to) on Prefecture
  • Manage and visualize your budget
  • Optimize the best routes or your activities
  • View the map real time with street and satellite view
  • Export your trips for easier access to your itinerary
  • Wishlist places and view them later

This was originally a project I decided to do for my mother, since she likes planning for travel (especially in Japan). I thought it would be nice to help her out and put my full-stack knowledge to good use. Although the app is catered towards Japan, future versions of it could cater towards different places, depending on how well it goes.

This app has a minimalistic-Japanese-inspired UI which caters to the specific travel theme, and also makes it so users don't get too overwhelemed with the UI. After all, simplicity is effective in some case.

Of course, this application isn't meant to replace the traveller in figuring out where they would want to go. It's only meant to serve as a guide. Overall, the app caters to the user's needs when it comes to planning and offers travellers a smoother experience. In the near future, I'll probably work on setting up instructions for how to set this up on your own device and have your version of this app up and running.
