The Last Guardian PC port 0.7.1

An unofficial PC port of The Last Guardian (PS4: the US release CUSA03627 or the European release CUSA03745) for Windows. It contains no game data, no game code and no keys: you need your own copy of the game (version 01.00 with update 01.03) as decrypted folders.

Changes

• Lighting no longer "breaks" in some areas (#3). The picture could turn bright and washed out with no shadows. The sun's shadow layers were mixed up. These areas now look as on the PS4
• HDR output (#5). With Windows HDR on, the game now sends a real HDR10 picture instead of a dim, grey one. Launcher > Display > HDR output sets the white level (200 nits by default, 100-400, or Windows' SDR brightness) or turns it off.
• Experimental: The game's own HDR. The PS4 game's HDR mode; set the brightness with the in game slider (Options > Screen).

How to play

1. Download TLG-Port-0.7.1.zip below and extract it into a folder.
2. Start tlg-launcher.exe and choose your game folder and update folder.
3. Click Play.

Requirements

• Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) and a graphics card with a Vulkan 1.3 driver (NVIDIA, AMD or Intel) and about 4 GB of video memory. Tested with NVIDIA graphics only so far.
• A recent processor with high single-core speed.
• Your own decrypted copy of the game (01.00 and update 01.03), about 25 GB.

Known issue

• Now and then the game closes with an error just after an area starts loading (seen with the 60 fps limit and with none). Start it again and choose Continue: the game goes on from its last checkpoint.
• The European release is tested with an English-only copy; its other languages have not been tested.

The launcher is not code-signed: if Windows says "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway.

• Added support for the European release (CUSA03745).
• The launcher now shows languages your game files include. The US release had English, Spanish French and Portuguese, and a European release has its own set. The game also supports Japanese, Korean, Chinese and more, if your copy includes them.
• Fixed a rare freeze when starting the game in a window. Sometimes it stopped before the title screen.
