ECAD Forge 1.4.308
Summary
ECAD Forge 1.4.308 focuses on more accurate interactive 3D PCB board assembly rendering, especially around generated board bodies, solder-mask faces, drill apertures, plated through holes, and coordinate normalization. It also preserves schematic viewport state across same-document rerenders and tightens the mobile viewer layout.
Highlights
- Bumped the application version from
1.4.283to1.4.308inpackage.jsonandpackage-lock.json. - Keeps the generated board body visible for board assembly scenes while hiding the duplicate board skin from matching external assembly models after material transfer.
- Adds separate generated top and bottom solder-mask face meshes for board assembly rendering, with drill openings cut out of the mask and coverage kept flush to the board perimeter.
- Carves circular edge drills into the generated board substrate as rounded notches instead of treating partially off-board holes as invalid internal holes.
- Reworks board assembly drill void rendering so open, unplated circular drill interiors are visible without adding cap geometry over the aperture.
- Skips separate drill-interior meshes for plated holes that already receive copper barrel geometry, avoiding doubled visuals inside vias and through-hole pads.
- Adds copper liner geometry for through-hole pad barrels, so plated pad holes render as open annular sleeves rather than filled cylinders.
- Centralizes PCB detail coordinate normalization, including Altium Y-axis inversion while preserving KiCad y-up and generic centered coordinate systems.
- Adjusts 3D view scaling so top and isometric presets stay camera-only in board space, while bottom views still use the expected mirrored orientation.
- Limits external model view compensation to silkscreen and external model groups instead of applying it to the entire root group.
- Preserves schematic SVG pan and zoom across same-document state rerenders, including selection-driven rerenders.
- Updates the compact mobile viewer layout so the main viewer stays first, followed by the document rail and PCB Styler CTA.
Test Coverage
- Added coverage for generated board assembly solder-mask faces, edge drill apertures, internal drill openings, and perimeter coverage.
- Added tests for source-format-aware 3D detail coordinate normalization.
- Expanded board shape, drill void, via barrel, copper filtering, runtime orientation, schematic viewport preservation, and mobile layout tests.
- Validation:
npm testpassed with 468 tests.
