DS5 Bridge v1.5.1 includes all v1.5.0 stability and feedback improvements, plus a hotfix for users who saw Companion firmware required after updating.

Please update both the companion app and Pico firmware.

What's New

  • New Host Encoding system for stronger controller audio and haptics.
  • Better haptics in supported games, including games that take exclusive control of the controller audio endpoint.
  • Improved rumble and haptic handling for more consistent in-game feedback.
  • Persistent adaptive trigger effects and new trigger lab profiles.
  • Added DualSense Edge remapping.
  • Improved reconnect behavior after disconnects, app restarts, and long idle periods.
  • Fixed a Windows migration issue where the app could show Companion firmware required after flashing v1.5.0.

Important Update Note

This release changes the USB device/interface layout.

If you run into odd controller, rumble, haptics, audio, duplicate-device, or detection issues after updating, open the companion app, go to the System tab, and use the wrench / Emergency Device Repair tool, then reboot your computer. This release changes the USB device topology, so some Windows installs may need to clear old DS5 Bridge device records before the new companion interface is detected correctly.

Pre-release

⚠️ THIS BUILD IS NOT PRODUCTION READY. ONLY DOWNLOAD IF YOU WANT TO TEST. DO NOT EXPECT THIS TO BE A STABLE EXPERIENCE. ⚠️

This is an open beta, so issues are expected. Please report bugs, crashes, and feedback in the DS5 Bridge Discord: https://discord.gg/gcMqZqsJ4

Highlights

  • Themes — Added Bubble Gum, Pomegranate, Kiwi, and improved Light/Dark themes.
  • Persona Swapping — Switch between DualSense, DualShock 4, and Xbox identities for games without native DualSense support. Speaker, headphone, and microphone support remain available.
  • Audio to Haptics — Convert system or application audio into controller haptic feedback with customizable tuning.
  • Chords — Create reusable functions and trigger them with controller button combinations.

Additional Changes

  • Normal mute-button behavior now controls the microphone and mute LED like a PlayStation.
  • Added a setting to disable the player-slot LED.

Most Recent Patch notes: 07/06/2026

  • Glyphs are now grouped in a more intuitive way for button remapping
  • L3 and R3 can be rebound to anything, instead of swapping places
  • Multiple UI refinements for drop down menus and the chords keyboard shortcut selector (Drop down menus with options no longer automatically close after renaming or deleting a profile)
  • Fixed haptics feeling different with host encoding on vs off
  • Changed controller speaker audio to behave more like native USB (I was previously limiting the controller amp to 50% of it's power to avoid clipping). When speaker audio is set to 100%, it should sound significantly louder, but you will hear static if you run bass heavy audio through it. (To avoid that, you can adjust the speaker slider until clipping issues resolve)

Huge thanks to @loteran for their Auto Haptics implementation, which helped make Audio to Haptics possible. Please consider checking out their fork.

DS5 Bridge v1.0.2

Changelog

  • Improved Bluetooth classic rumble consistency.
  • Rumble over Bluetooth may feel different or stronger than USB, but should remain more stable during normal use.
  • Fixed classic rumble stop and transition handling so rumble shuts off more reliably across games.
  • Improved handling for games that send frequent or alternating rumble updates.
  • Fixed haptic/audio state handling for Battlefield 6-style feedback paths.
  • Fixed adaptive trigger state echo through audio-state packets.
  • Added internal diagnostics for trigger and feedback traces to make controller output issues easier to investigate.
  • Bumped Companion and firmware versions to 1.0.2.
  • Disabled debug reports in RC firmware builds.

Known Issues

  • Gyro may stutter in some games or setups.
  • When the DualSense speaker or headset audio path is active, classic rumble may feel different or lower quality due to DualSense firmware behavior. This also affects direct USB in some games and is not specific to DS5 Bridge.
  • Games that take exclusive control of the DualSense playback endpoint for advanced haptics, such as Death Stranding, are not supported with Host Encoding. If you encounter audio or haptics issues in those games, disable Host Encoding while playing. -- UPDATE: A fix for this will be issued in the next release
  • In BT Headphone mode, layered controller audio effects may occur due to normal Windows/game audio routing behavior. If this happens, disable controller speaker effects in-game when available.
