v0.6 BETA Changelog

New Features & Improvements

  • Robust Error Handling: Implemented a custom exception system for clearer, consistent
    error messages on command failures.
  • Persistent Command History: Command history is now saved automatically in
    ~/.redtops_history between sessions.
  • Packet Sniffing (sniff command): Added sniff [count] to capture and
    display live network packets using libpcap.

Internal Refinements & Code Quality

(Some of these were on v0.5.2)

  • Codebase Consistency: Standardized file naming, header extensions, and code structure.
  • Singleton Pattern for Shell: Refactored the Shell class to a robust singleton pattern.
  • Integrated Testing Framework: Added Catch2 for automated testing.
  • Improved Build System: Enhanced CMake for better library discovery and build
    reliability.
