Resource Pack Setup

Martijn van den Brand edited this page Jun 22, 2026 · 2 revisions

This section covers how to set up your resource pack.

Folder structure

The folder structure for a Fusion resource pack is the same as for vanilla:

Your resourcepack/
├── assets/
│   └── ...
├── data/
│   └── ...
└── pack.mcmeta

Fusion adds some additional properties to the pack.mcmeta file. In the pack.mcmeta file, you will want to add a new section under the fusion key. The section should contain a min_version property indicating the Fusion version you are targeting.

{
    "pack": {
        ...
    },
    "fusion": {
        "min_version": "<version here>"
    }
}

To find the Fusion version, you can check Modrinth. As an example, if you want to target 1.3.0a-neoforge-mc1.21, you would put 1.3.0 for the min_version property.

Note

Fusion works the same for all modloaders, hence specifying a specific modloader is not necessary.

Minimum version warning screen

In case the user has an older version of Fusion installed than the min_version for your resource pack, they will be shown the screen below where they can choose whether they still want to enable the resource pack or not.
