Texture Types

Fusion adds five new texture types: base, connecting, continuous, random, and scrolling. Each is explained in the respective pages linked below.

  • Base texture type
    Allows making a texture emissive, overwriting a textures render type, and using custom tinting for a texture. Base texture properties can also be used with the other texture types.
  • Connecting texture type
    A type of texture that can connect depending on surrounding blocks.
  • Continuous texture type
    Allows for textures that are larger than a single block.
  • Random texture type
    A type of texture that randomly picks one of multiple tiles.
  • Scrolling texture type An animated texture where the frame 'scrolls' over the image.

How to use

Similar to vanilla's animated textures, Fusion uses the .mcmeta file to specify texture types and their configuration. For example, if we have a texture file flowing_magma.png, simply create a flowing_magma.png.mcmeta. Inside the .mcmeta file, simply create a new section under the fusion key. The texture type and additional data can then be specified in the section.

{
  "fusion": {
    "type": "<texture type>",
    <configuration>
  }
}

Note

Most of Fusion's texture types can be used in combination with the vanilla animated texture data.
