The first release of the all-new GD Level Request Bot desktop app — a complete, ground-up rewrite from the old Node.js bot into a native desktop application.
Highlights
- Native desktop app. Runs as a real installed application (Windows, macOS, Linux) instead of a Node.js script — built on Tauri, Rust, and React, with a local SQLite database instead of flat JSON files.
- Twitch and YouTube support. Take level requests from Twitch chat, YouTube Live Chat, or both at once, from a single unified queue.
- In-app scripting. Write your own chat commands in a built-in scripting language (Rhai) with a live editor, autocomplete, find/replace, and a test runner — no external tools required.
- Marketplace. Browse, install, and update community-made modules, libraries, and commands directly from the app. Authors can submit and manage their own packages; staff can review submissions before they go live.
- Custom installer. A guided setup wizard (with a silent/unattended mode for advanced users) handles installation, updates, file associations, and uninstallation on every platform.
- GitHub sign-in. Sign in with GitHub to sync your marketplace account, sponsor status, and author permissions across devices.
Queue & requests
- Configurable request limits per viewer and subscriber tier, with an adjustable max queue size.
- Automatic Geometry Dash level lookups (name, difficulty, song, thumbnail) when a request comes in.
- Optional auto-copy of the next level ID to your clipboard.
- Manual queue management: reorder, skip, clear, and search requests from the in-app queue view.
Setup & accounts
- A guided first-run setup wizard: pick your platform(s), connect your Twitch/YouTube accounts, choose starter packages, and you're live.
- Twitch and YouTube account connections use OAuth — no manually copy-pasting tokens.
- A "just browsing" demo mode to explore the app before connecting real accounts.
Under the hood
- Local REST API (used for OAuth callbacks, the live preview stream, and developer tooling) with hardened defaults: loopback-only binding, strict CORS on sensitive routes, and automatic recovery if the port is left held by a stale process.
- Config and secrets no longer live in ad-hoc JSON files scattered around the working directory — everything is unified into a single local database.
- Cross-platform installer packaging, including signed auto-updates and native Linux packages (.deb / .rpm / .AppImage) alongside the custom installer.
