0.17.0
SwiftTUI 0.17.0 adds a sequential terminal reader, reduces offscreen text
painting, and fixes focus-reveal scrolling and cooperative shutdown. The
coordinated chart and terminal-embedding packages add semantic data and output
review.
Added
- A sequential terminal reader for ordinary terminal apps: start with
--reader
orSWIFTTUI_READER=1, and switch between reader and grid with F12. Read,
search, navigate scenes, invoke semantic actions, and edit text through the
same application state used by the browser companion (STUI-673, STUI-674).
Changed
- Skip painting offscreen lines and resolving styles for unwritable glyphs in
ordinary, rich, preformatted, and styled preformatted text. Thanks to
@vmarcella for
#44. A follow-up preserves
the right clipping boundary for wrapped text.
Fixed
- Preserve collection-owned offsets on axes that do not need focus-reveal
movement, keeping final rows reachable in compact multi-selection lists.
Thanks to @echoz for
#46. A follow-up starts
ordinary scroll-view reveals from the clamped offset after viewport growth. - Finish cooperative quit/EOF flushing after required presentations and their
synchronous UI follow-ups, without draining unrelated producer work to the
acquisition cap. Termination handlers decide before the flush; once exit
proceeds, owned tasks are cancelled and new task starts are refused. Cancelled
acquisitions still retry within the existing bound. The landed #48 is
derived from @echoz's
#45, including the policy
design, drain wiring, and regression coverage (STUI-917). - Preserve implicit leading path origins through transforms (STUI-911).
- Keep fresh terminal clicks valid after browser-companion zoom changes
(STUI-912). - Name popover-tip accessibility surfaces from their title, and keep Picker
menus open when an accessibility selection leaves the value unchanged
(STUI-913, STUI-914). - Validate companion and WebHost ports read from the environment (STUI-915).
Coordinated packages
SwiftTUIChartsadds navigable exact source data, search and remembered-point
comparison, units, and color-independent chart presentations (STUI-663).SwiftTUITerminalViewadds frozen output review, scrollback navigation, copy,
and semantic line input while the child terminal continues running
(STUI-664).- Browser packages, native hosts, examples, the counter demo, and documentation
move together to 0.17.0. Accessibility implementation and automated coverage
retain the host qualification limits documented by each package.
New contributors
- Welcome @vmarcella (Vincenzo Marcella), whose
first contribution #44
avoids offscreen text painting. - Welcome @echoz (Jeremy Foo), with two contributions
in this release: the focus-reveal correction in
#46, and the cooperative-exit
work in #45 from which the
landed #48 is derived.
