ha-helios 0.17.0 — Readings card

Choose a tag to compare

@SychPL SychPL released this 30 Sep 13:18

Adds the Readings (1–3 entities) card (entities) to the Helios dashboard editor.

  • Select one to three entities, set optional short labels, and reorder the rows.
  • Each row shows its name, value and HA unit; missing values show an em dash.
  • Live preview uses the same numeric and state formatting as the clock.
  • Values are displayed only, including number and input_number entities.

Requires Helios 0.19.0 or newer. Update the clock before saving this card. Dashboard schema remains version 6.

Update through HACS and fully refresh the Helios panel. No Home Assistant restart is needed for the panel change. The attached ZIP contains custom_components/helios for manual installation.

Validation: 32 panel tests, 72 integration tests, plus physical clock tests of the matching Helios 0.19.0 card (live updates, missing data, offline and reconnect).

The dashboard editor offers the new Energy (PV, house, battery) card (energy): PV production and house load on top, the battery charge large under it; without a battery sensor the production / load pair is the value. The clock needs Helios 0.14 or newer to show it - an older clock rejects a document that contains it and keeps its last good layout.

A clock paired while another clock already has a pasted Music Assistant token now takes that token (and its Music Assistant addresses), so it plays music from the start. Before, with the Music Assistant add-on, every further clock paired silently without music. A clock that connects without music while Music Assistant runs now shows up in Settings -> Repairs.

Each clock can show its own dashboard. The Helios panel has one tab per paired clock; Own dashboard copies the current document into a new hidden dashboard for that clock and switches it on the spot. Every clock starts on the shared helios-clock, so nothing changes until you press the button. New admin-only WebSocket commands helios/clocks and helios/clock/set_dashboard (docs/PROTOCOL.md). No app update needed.

Fix for 0.11.0: the editor panel's files are now served by a regular view (GET /helios_static/<name>, two allowlisted modules) instead of a static path. Registering a static path fails with "Cannot register a resource into frozen router" once aiohttp has frozen the router, which broke the integration's setup in CI and could do the same in a running Home Assistant. The panel itself, the editor and the 0.11.0 notes are unchanged; see v0.11.0.

CI: the node job runs the validator test file explicitly (Node 22 does not take a directory).
