Modesto 1.0.0 Aloha — Alpha Release Candidate

Aloha is the nickname. The version is 1.0.0-alpha.1. This is an Alpha Release Candidate — first public 1.0-line build. Use it. Break it. It is not a finished 1.0.

Chat and Work in one local desk. Your agents, the ones you already pay for. Modesto does not sell tokens.

Flip Chat / Work in the composer (it locks after the first send).

  • Chat — talk first. You can send with no project open. Lives under Chats.
  • Work — the repo job. Project, branch, worktree, diffs, terminal, commits, PRs.

Beside the thread: Connections, Music, Canvas, Artifacts, Browser.

  • Pull Requests — Reviewing / Authored. Summary, Timeline, Code.
  • Agents — identities you dispatch into threads.
  • Tasks — Draft / In Progress / Done.

There's a zip for the Mac updater too, plus SHA256SUMS.txt. No Intel Mac in this drop. Alpha RC — Gatekeeper / SmartScreen may complain. Check the sums if you're the type.

Known issues

Reconnects and partial streams can still get weird. Some Work flows (including Kanban drag-to-run) are still landing. Folder-free send is Chat, not Work. No iOS here.

bun install then bun run modesto:dev. Bun 1.3.9+, Node 24.13.1+, a provider CLI. AGPL-3.0-only.
