v4.97.0

The popup and side panel now follow your system's light or dark setting, so they no longer stay dark when everything else is light. Faded rows in the popup's data-flow list are readable again in dark mode too.
-
Made With AI Label (Video Hider, off by default) hides videos YouTube itself labels "Made with AI". YouTube only shows that label on the watch page, so Astra remembers it when you open a labeled video and hides that video's cards everywhere after, with the reason in the hide note. It sends nothing. Turn on Look Up AI Labels too and Astra asks YouTube about each card before you open it, four small requests at a time and without your cookies, then caches the answer (labels for 180 days, clean videos for 30).
-
Hide Thumbnail Badges (Content page, off by default) hides the "New", "4K" and "CC" badges YouTube stamps on video cards in search, the sidebar, channel pages and Shorts. The duration and the watched bar stay, so you'll still see how long a video is.

Each userscript
@requireand translation@resourcenow ends in the SHA-256 of the exact file it should load. If a release tag were ever moved or re-pushed, Tampermonkey refuses the changed file instead of running it. Violentmonkey doesn't check these hashes yet.

Selector updates are checked harder before they're used. A saved update is now tied to the version that downloaded it, so after an upgrade the extension starts from its own built-in selectors instead of replaying an older saved set. Updates older than the ones a release shipped with are refused, and so is any update that would step back from the one already in use. Each selector also has to parse in your browser and can't contain braces or
url(, so a bad one can't spill into the page's styles. When several YouTube tabs ask for an update at once they now share a single download, and a download that stalls gives up after 20 seconds. -
An upcoming premiere or scheduled stream in the watch sidebar isn't mistaken for a Mix anymore. Hide Mixes leaves it alone, and it keeps its Watch Feed button. YouTube's newer cards only say "Upcoming" in words, which both features now read in every supported language.
-
If the settings panel's code fails to load, opening the panel now tells you to reload the page. Before, it quietly showed an older built-in copy that had fallen behind: some cards were missing (Return YouTube Dislike and the notification bell among them) and a few messages stayed in English. That copy, about 3,900 lines, is gone, and the build checks keep it from coming back.
-
Theater Split's comments count lines up with the header text again, and the collapsed edge now says "Show comments" when you hover or tab to it. The standalone Theater Split userscript gets the same fix as 1.0.20.
-
Block Comment Authors works signed out and with Studio Comments now. YouTube renders the comment menu empty when you're signed out, so there was nowhere to choose Block. A comment whose menu can't be opened gets its own Block button in its toolbar, which you can reach with Tab.
-
Digital Wellbeing's reminders, the Subscription Groups and settings import summaries, and a few other messages showed in English whatever language Astra Deck was in. They're translated into all 11 languages now, with real singular and plural forms instead of "(s)".
-
In the popup's Settings Overview, the chips on feature schedules and the sync allowlist used to open the in-page panel on nothing. They now point you to the backup file, which is where those two get changed.
-
The Reset chip on a changed setting card doesn't cover its switch or dropdown anymore. It sits beside the title now.
-
When a core module fails to load, the log names the module and its error instead of "undefined". A load that fails with no error at all gets one retry.
-
Jump to Most Replayed clicked during an ad used to end the ad and start the video at 0:00. Now it waits for the video and then jumps to the peak. Heatmap Smart Speed also stopped steering ads by the video's curve, so an ad plays at your own speed.
-
Blocked channels hide in the watch page sidebar now. Those cards don't link their channel, so the blocklist couldn't tell whose video they were and showed them anyway. Astra reads the channel from YouTube's own card data instead, by channel ID, so two channels with the same name can't be mixed up. A channel you blocked from a feed card is matched there too once Astra has seen it on any card, and the allowlist judges sidebar cards the same way.
-
22 features were missing from the settings panel entirely, with no switch and no search result: Return YouTube Dislike and dislikes on thumbnails, the monetization indicator, the local AI summary and transcript questions, transcript search and the research tools, Subscription Groups and its view controls, the accessibility options (reduced motion, forced colors, the screen reader announcer, low power mode), the Watch Later and playlist tools, the right-click menu, Open in alternative frontend, VLC/mpv handoff, and Bypass playlist mode. Their groups had no page in the panel. They now sit on Watch Page, Home / Subscriptions, Theme, Content and Playback. The toolbar popup's Subscription Groups links land on its card now too.
-
Hide Notification Bell and Hide End Screen Cards had no card in the settings panel either. The bell's group never got a page. End Screen Cards is drawn under Hide Video End Content, but it was filed on Watch Page while its parent sits on Video Player, so neither page drew it. The bell is on Home / Subscriptions now, and End Screen Cards shows under its parent.
-
The settings links in the toolbar popup land on the setting now. Its "in-page panel" buttons for lists and saved data (hidden Guide, chat, player and watch page items, video notes, per-channel SponsorBlock and intro/outro skips, DeArrow channel overrides, watch time) matched no row, so the panel opened on whatever page it showed last. It now opens on the right page with that setting's switch focused, clears a search that would hide it, and keeps focus there instead of jumping to the search box. A link that opens a new YouTube tab opens the panel too; before, it waited for you to open the panel yourself.
-
A settings link that lands on a card with nothing to switch, like a watch-time readout, or on a setting that's greyed out until its main switch is on, now leaves the focus on that card instead of the search box. The panel's Active section readout follows the link to its page too.
-
Jump to Most Replayed and Heatmap Smart Speed work again after you click from one video to another. Once they stopped trusting a curve that names a different video, the only curves they could read came from the page you first opened. So after a click the button vanished and the speed didn't change until you reloaded. They now take the curve YouTube sends with each navigation, in Chrome and Firefox.
-
A card's Reset button could switch a hide on. On a Guide, chat or player list you'd never changed, turning an item on and off again made Reset turn it back on, because the switch had quietly moved the default too. Undo on the Reset toast works after you've closed the panel now, and a Reset that needs host access waits for your answer before it says anything was reset.

The live bridge smoke now fails when YouTube's own in-app navigation isn't admitted, or when the bridge token is still on the page as its first script runs. It also scans
windowfor anything shaped like a bridge reader. -
eslint is on 10.12 and acorn on 8.19.

When Firefox took too long to start and its profile then wouldn't delete, the WebDriver helper crashed with "Cannot set property message" and the startup error was lost. It reports both now.
