Immutable release. Only release title and notes can be modified.

The Windows packages now exclude native libraries from unrelated tools on the build machine. This fixes a Qt startup failure that a successful build alone didn't catch.

The README has screenshots from the packaged app, a clearer choice between installed and portable use, and separate usage and build guides. The original icon is retained. Earlier artwork and every screenshot iteration are saved in the concept archive.

Downloads

Choose AstraDownloader.exe for a per-user installation, or extract AstraDownloader-onedir.zip for the portable layout. First-run setup needs internet access to download the managed media tools. The source ZIP is for developers, not an installed application.

These builds are unsigned. Before running them, compare their SHA-256 with the matching .sha256 file. A matching checksum checks the bytes, not the publisher's identity. Don't bypass a security warning without investigating it.

Local verification

  • All nine release gates passed from a clean checkout, including 54 Node tests and 1,326 Python tests. One symlink test was skipped because the test account can't create symlinks.
  • Both release layouts passed 125 isolated interface checks and produced seven screenshots each. The larger Qt fixture suite covered 85 states.
  • A separate download-manager test fetched a public sample video and decoded it completely. No account was used. The marketing queue is labeled example data, not a performance test.

Browser pairing, account-gated downloads and managed Windows installation were not tested in this review. The verification record lists the checks and limits. See the changelog for the additional fixes already merged since v2.15.0.
