What changed

• Reworked the README around the download path, a safe first run, and the jobs people use most.
• Added a version-free hero with real product screenshots captured on a private Windows desktop.
• Replaced the old poster-style icon with a transparent mark that stays readable at taskbar size.
• Fixed crashes in Profile Quick Switch and Source Bundle Selector, then added GUI smoke coverage for both dialogs.

Verification

All 367 tests passed on Python 3.12. The release EXE also passed its version check and launched successfully on a private Windows desktop.

The Windows build is not code-signed because a trusted publisher certificate is not available. Verify the checksum before running it.
