This release gathers everything since v0.7.2 and brings 85 patches for Facebook 581.0.0.45.58, up from 70. 580.0.0.51.74 and 577.0.0.50.72 still work. The fifteen new ones are Hide read receipts, Hide typing indicator, Send chat photos and videos at original quality, Clean up Facebook's chat list, Download any photo, Following feed on Home, Hide seen posts, Comment sheet options, Hide Meta AI comment summaries, Hide Meta upsells, Hide tab badges, Accent color, Keep the progress bar, Turn off auto-translation and Disable Play Store updates. Morphe Manager 1.34.0 or newer is required.

New in this release

  • The diagnostic report counts the reels whose player was already partway in when Facebook started them, and with Debug logging on it names the first twenty with how far in they were. That's for the reels that show time gone on their seekbar before they've played, and it works with Tap to play whether or not Resume long videos is in (issue #90).

  • Download any reel also puts a Download row in a reel's More sheet, the one with Playback speed and Captions, right above Clear mode. Some accounts get reels without the sidebar the Download button sits in, so those reels had no way to save at all. The row saves the same way the button does (issue #18).

  • New patch, Download any photo, with a switch under Downloads. Every photo you open full screen gets Save photo, even where the poster turned saving off, and a tap saves it to your Save folder at the biggest size Meta's servers offer, which is often bigger than the copy Facebook shows. It's saved as a JPEG like Facebook's own saves, even when the servers send that copy as AVIF, and on Android 11, which can't read AVIF, the largest regular copy goes instead. If Hushfacebook can't start the save, Facebook's own runs. It's in Manager's default selection and its switch starts on.

  • New patch, Hide typing indicator, with two switches under Privacy. In a chat that opens inside Facebook, the person you're writing to doesn't see that you're typing, and people looking at a post don't see that you're writing a comment. Your messages and comments send as usual. It's off in Manager's default selection, and both switches start on once it's picked. The idea comes from HushMessenger's patch of the same name.

  • New patch, Hide read receipts, with a switch under Privacy. In a chat that opens inside Facebook, the person who wrote to you doesn't see that you've read it. The chat can stay unread on this phone, and replying may still show you've read it. Like the other privacy patches, it's off in Manager's default selection and its switch starts on once you pick it.

  • Hide tabs has seven more switches under Appearance, for tabs Facebook gives only some accounts: Dating, Professional dashboard, Saved, Ad Center, Create, Explore and Jobs. They work like the others. Each starts off, a tab you pick leaves the tab bar once Facebook restarts, and its page stays in the Menu. The Video tab already has its own switch in Hide the Reels tab.

  • Hide sponsored reels also stops the query for extended ad breaks, the longer breaks a video can line up. It ran on its own path, outside the ad-break requests the patch already answers with no ad. The diagnostic report now counts every ad-break request the patch holds back, banners and video ad breaks included.

  • Hide posts by words can also hide posts from people, Pages and sites you list. Turn on Hide posts from people, Pages and sites under News feed and add one per line to its list: a name as Facebook shows it, a profile or Page id or a Facebook link with one in it, or a site like example.com, which takes its subdomains too. A share of a listed author's post goes as well, and a link through Facebook's own redirect counts as the site it leads to. The list stays on the phone and goes into an exported settings file like the word lists.

  • Hide posts by words takes patterns as well as words. A line between slashes, like /colou?r/, is a regular expression, and each one runs with a step limit so a bad pattern can't freeze the feed, and one whose repeats would take too long just to read is turned down. Save names the first line it can't read. Four new switches under News feed hide photo, video, link and colored background posts, and they all start off. A Page's video with a button under it, like Get tickets, counts as a video post.

  • Hide suggested and promoted posts has three more switches under News feed, for things Facebook puts between posts that aren't suggestions: Memories, like "On this day" and friendship anniversaries, the row of friend requests, and the card showing where your friends are. Each starts off. Your Memories page and the requests under Friends stay either way.

  • Hide suggested and promoted posts also takes two more kinds of Facebook's own promotions, its social list prompt and the row of people to invite to a group. It goes by the type name each one carries, since some builds send them without a model class of their own. Hide sponsored posts also takes a carousel of several ads, whatever category Facebook files it under.

  • Hide Menu promotions has a third switch under Menu, Hide the Muse card. The card at the top of the Menu that reads "Meet Muse, your personal AI agent." is Meta's ad for its AI agent app, and with the switch on Facebook treats it as if you'd tapped its Dismiss. It starts on.

  • Hide sponsored reels also keeps the floating ad button off the comments of a reel or video ad that still gets through. Facebook's own comment buttons, like Message, stay.

  • Hide sponsored posts keeps the floating ad button off a feed ad's comments too, on the post's own page and in the comment sheet. The Message, shop and visual search buttons stay. It works with or without Hide sponsored reels, and pausing Hushfacebook brings the button back.

  • Download any photo has its own Photo file name under Downloads, next to the video's. It takes the same tokens, with {photo_id} for the photo's number on Facebook, and starts as FB_IMG_{date}, the name Facebook's own photo saves get. Export settings carries it.

  • A Save Facebook's notification sound row under Notifications, in every build. It copies Facebook's own chime into the phone's Notifications folder so Android's sound picker lists it, for a notification category that came up as None after a fresh install, which no app can set back on its own (issue #83).

  • Turn off screen transitions also covers tab strips inside a screen. A tap on one of Facebook's in-page tab rows, or on Feelings and Activities in the composer, shows that page at once. Stories, photo viewers and carousels move as before.

  • With Debug logging on, the diagnostic report lists the last 50 Facebook screens that came to the front, by class, action and the link's host and path (never its query). When a tap opens the wrong screen, the report says which one it was.

  • Hide Stories tray has a third switch, Hide the composer row under News feed, which starts off. It takes the "What's on your mind?" row off the top of Home, so the feed starts with the Stories tray (or your first post, with the tray hidden too). The create button in the top bar still starts a post, and a change shows the next time you pull down to refresh.

  • Hide sponsored reels also covers the Reels tab on a profile or Page. That tab asks for its ads with a query of its own, outside the Reels ad pool the patch already holds, and now it doesn't send it, so the tab shows that profile's own reels. The diagnostic report counts each held query.

  • Hide Meta AI in the feed also takes out the cards promoting Vibes, Meta AI's app of AI-made videos, that Facebook can put between posts. They go by the card's own type, like the Meta AI cards, and the report counts them under it.

  • Clean up Reels can take out the Threads cards Facebook puts between reels. Turn on Hide Threads cards between reels, which starts off, and the next reel follows right after the last. The diagnostic report counts every kind of card it finds between reels, so a new kind shows up there (issue #85).

  • Tab bar at the bottom has a second switch under Appearance, Hide the tab bar while scrolling. With the bar at the bottom, it slides away as you scroll the feed down and comes back when you scroll up. It turns on the version Facebook already gives some accounts, so the feed keeps its room for the bar. It starts off and needs a restart (issue #84).

  • New patch, Keep the progress bar, with a switch under Playback. A reel's progress bar stays full size, so you can drag it without tapping the reel first, and a full-screen video's controls stay up until you tap, in the player that Enter fullscreen landscape mode opens too (issue #73).

  • New patch, Hide Meta AI comment summaries, with a switch under Comments. Comment sheets open without Meta AI's summary at the top, and posts lose the summary under their buttons.

  • Clean up Reels can open reels and videos in Facebook's own Clean mode, with the buttons down the side hidden. Turn on Always use Clean mode, which starts off, and you won't have to pick it from the menu on every reel (issue #75).

  • In dark mode, Material You theme colours the selected tab in the tab bar, its icon and the line over it, with your wallpaper's accent (issue #65).

  • New patch, Hide Meta upsells, with its own section in settings for Meta's other products. Its four switches start off: Hide Edits promotions, Hide Threads cross-posting prompts, Hide Meta Verified offers and Hide avatar sticker promotions. They cover the places outside the Menu where Facebook pushes those, like the Reels camera and the sheet after you post.

  • Stop Story auto-advance has a second switch, Loop stories, which starts off. A story that finishes plays again from the start instead of stopping on its last frame, and a tap or a swipe still moves on.

  • Download any photo has a second switch under Downloads, Save photo in post menus, which starts off. A photo post's three-dot menu gets Save photo, and an album gets Save all photos, which saves each one in turn.

  • New patch, Following feed on Home, with a switch under Opening Facebook that starts off. With it on, Home asks for the newest posts from the friends, groups and Pages you follow, the feed the Feeds tab's All shows, instead of the ranked one. The Feeds tab's filters keep their own feeds, and the diagnostic report counts the ones it leaves alone by name.

  • New patch, Disable Play Store updates, which starts off. Google Play stops offering Facebook updates, so you no longer need Morphe Patches as a second source just for that. It's Morphe's own patch with its notice kept, and Facebook still reads its real version (issue #46).

  • Block Instant Games ads has a new switch under it, Answer rewarded game ads as watched, which starts off. With it on, a game's rewarded ad counts as watched, so the game gives its reward while no ad is fetched or played. Interstitials and banners still get no ad.

  • Default playback quality gives reels and video stories a quality of their own with Reels quality and Stories quality, and saves can go into a Video subfolder and Photo subfolder inside the save folder. Both start as before.

  • Hide suggested and promoted posts also takes rows of suggested shows under Hide page suggestions and Facebook's own promos, and posts Facebook files as injected or trending under Hide "Suggested for you" posts, as soon as Facebook serves one.

  • New patch, Hide tab badges. Hide the Home tab badge and the switches beside it take the dot and count off Home, Friends, Marketplace, Notifications, Menu, Groups or any other tab, and Hide the app icon count keeps Facebook's count off its launcher icon. Notifications still come in. Every switch starts off.

  • AMOLED black theme's Background colour takes lighter colours like #5B513F now, with cards and menus stepped to match and secondary text and links lifted so they stay easy to read. (#34)

  • With Material You theme in dark mode, the page under your last post takes the palette too instead of staying Facebook's grey.

  • Block background-return feed refresh now keeps your place when you switch back to Home too, so the feed doesn't re-rank or reload behind your back. The Keep feed position on return switch covers it, and pull to refresh still works.

  • New Turn off auto-translation shows posts and reel captions in the language they were written in. Turn on Turn off auto-translation under News feed, and posts Facebook would translate by itself keep their own text with its See translation link under them, while reels stop asking for a caption translation. It's in the default selection with its switch off, and turning it off or pausing Hushfacebook brings Facebook's translations back.

  • Keep the reel speed has a second switch, Keep the video speed, under Reels and Watch. Turn it on and a playback speed you pick in a feed or Watch video's gear menu carries to the next videos you play, until you pick another or Facebook restarts. Reels keep their own speed, and ads, live videos, stories and videos in chats start at Facebook's speed. It starts off.

  • A settings file now carries the Reels and Stories playback qualities and the video and photo subfolders. The import preview says what each will change, and an unknown quality or a subfolder with a path in it is refused.

  • New Comment sheet options with three switches under Comments, all off to start. Like only stops a long press on Like from opening the reactions, so a tap just likes, and Hide GIF and sticker buttons takes them out of the comment box. With Open every reply thread, comments show their replies right away, the way they look after a tap on View replies. A Hide reaction counts row opens Facebook's own settings, where Reaction preferences lives. Pick the patch in Manager to get it.

  • Hide Meta upsells has a new Hide Meta AI's Imagine switch, off to start. It takes the Imagine me button off posts and takes Imagine out of the post composer and the row of tools at the top of Create story.

  • Hide Meta upsells has a new Hide Threads in the share sheet switch, off to start. The share sheet loses its Threads button and keeps every other way to share in the same order.

  • Download any video has a new switch, Offer to download copied links, off to start. Come back to Facebook with a reel or video link copied and it asks once whether to download it. With the switch off, your clipboard is never read.

  • Hide Meta upsells has a new Hide other Meta AI buttons under posts switch next to Hide Meta AI's Imagine. It takes the rest of Meta AI's buttons off posts, the business AI agent and visual search buttons included, along with Meta AI's deep dive under a caption. The post's next button shows instead if it has one. It starts off.

  • View stories anonymously has a new Mark as seen button switch, off to start (#88). With it on, each story gets an eye at the top. Tap it and you show up on that story's viewer list, while every other story stays hidden. Tap it again before you leave to take the mark back.

  • New switch, Lock Facebook, under Privacy and off to start. Facebook asks for your fingerprint, face or screen lock when it starts and when you come back after the time you pick under Lock after. The black screen stays on top of Facebook's popups and tooltips, and Open and Share on a saved photo or video wait until you unlock. A reel in picture-in-picture keeps playing in its window without asking, but bringing it back or opening Facebook after that time asks, and a reply from a notification doesn't ask. Instant Games and their ads ask too, following the switch and the wait you pick even while they're already open, but a game opened soon after you unlock Facebook doesn't ask again. Pausing Hushfacebook or safe mode doesn't turn the lock off, and the diagnostic report says whether the lock can see every Facebook window on your phone.

  • Block promotional notifications has new switches for group activity, event invites, live videos and reactions to your posts and comments. Quiet hours, a separate switch, blocks the kinds you picked only between two hours you choose (10 PM to 7 AM to start). Everything starts off, and messages and calls always come through.

  • Block background-return feed refresh also keeps your place when Facebook would reload Home as you switch back to it after a while on another tab. The Keep feed position on return switch covers it, and pull to refresh and a fresh start still load new posts.

  • Hold a reel for 2x has a new switch, Only on the right edge, off to start. With it on, only a hold on the right third of a reel plays it at 2x, and a hold anywhere else opens Facebook's long-press menu, even on accounts where Facebook has a 2x hold of its own on the reel's edges.

  • Text size under Appearance makes Facebook's text 85% to 130% of what your phone's font size setting gives it. It starts at 100%, which is Facebook as it ships, and Pause puts it back. Restart Facebook after changing it.

  • New patch, Accent color, left out of Manager's default selection. Pick Teal, Green, Purple, Pink, Orange, Red, Indigo or Amber under Appearance and the blue Facebook draws links, buttons, switches and the selected tab in takes that color. Blue text and icons on a card keep 4.5 to 1 contrast in whichever look the screen uses, light or dark. It starts on Facebook's blue. Material You theme wins when both are in, and the Accent color row greys out to say so.

  • New patch, Send chat photos and videos at original quality, with a switch under Chats that starts off. Photos and videos you send from a chat that opens inside Facebook go out as the originals instead of shrunken copies. Photos lose their location and camera details (the rotation stays). A video with a location tag or a dashcam's GPS log (a gps box, NMEA text, Novatek freeGPS blocks or LigoGPS data) is still re-encoded, and so is one holding anything Hushfacebook can't read through, such as a camera maker's binary Exif box or an XMP packet. Videos from editing apps and Galaxy phones with no location in them go out as they are. One sent as it is keeps its recording date and the phone's make and model. Photos over 20 MB and videos over 25 MB are still shrunk.

  • The Words to hide editor for Hide posts by words has an Add a topic pack button: Politics, Elections, Crypto, Sports, Celebrity gossip, Weight loss ads, and Giveaways and engagement bait. A pack adds its words as a few pattern lines you can edit, and they only match whole words, so a friend's "love you to the moon and back" stays put. It skips lines you already have and says what it added right in the editor, and nothing is kept until you save.

  • Hide posts by words can also hide posts with a lot of reactions. Pick a count under Hide posts with more reactions than, from 1,000 to 100,000, and posts above it go. It starts on Off, and a post whose count can't be read stays.

  • New patch, Hide seen posts, left out of Manager's default selection. Turn on Hide posts you've already seen under News feed and posts you've scrolled past stay out of the feed when it loads again, for 1, 3, 7 or 30 days as you pick under Keep them hidden for. Forget seen posts starts over, with the switch on or off, and turning the switch off forgets the list too. The list is a short code per post and when you saw it, kept on your phone only, cleared of posts past their days and left out of exported settings.

  • New patch, Clean up Facebook's chat list, for Chats that open inside Facebook. Hide the notes and active now row empties the list behind the row above your chats, so friends' notes and who's active go, and your own note tile may go too. Hide chat list promotions takes out the promotional banners at the top, like the one asking you to turn on notifications. Both switches start off.

  • Only the first reel waits, a switch under Playback below Tap to play that starts off. With it on, the reel you land on in Reels still waits for a tap, and the reels you swipe to after you play it start on their own. The feed, Watch and stories keep waiting, and once anything waits again, like the feed trying a video or a reel coming back from another tab, so does the next reel (issue #91).

  • Slower speeds, a switch under Reels and Watch that starts off. A reel's speed menu and the gear menu's Playback speed sheet on feed and Watch videos also offer 0.1x and 0.25x, slower than Facebook's 0.5x, for reading a sign or catching a detail that goes by too fast. The gear sheet writes the new speeds the way it writes its own, like 0,25x in German, and plays the speed you tap whatever language your phone is in. Keep the reel speed and Keep the video speed keep a slow speed you pick like any other (issue #95).

  • Facebook's Whitehat settings, under Pause, backup and diagnostics, opens Facebook's own screen for security researchers when it's on the phone, and the Whitehat page on the web when it isn't.

  • With Debug logging on, the report's Stories tray line is followed by a count of the other card types the tray kept, by Facebook's own type name, so a report shows which cards Hushfacebook doesn't sort yet. It never reads whose stories they are and doesn't change what the tray shows.

  • With Debug logging on, the diagnostic report says which video formats Facebook's players were set up with: the codec, the size, and whether the picture is SDR or HDR (PQ or HLG), with or without HDR metadata. So a report shows whether a video was really served in HDR, with Turn off HDR brightness on or off. It's in every build, and nothing else from the video gets into the report (issues #93 and #66).

  • With Debug logging on, a Save photo tap writes the sizes of the photo's copies to the report (just the sizes, never the image's address), so a report can show why a save came out smaller than expected.

  • The report's Last screen left lines now say what each view on the way down paints behind itself (a colour, or the kind of drawable with its fill), so a report can show which part of a screen a theme missed. A sheet or dialog left open over the screen, like the comments, gets read first, and the walk also looks under an empty layer that paints nothing.

  • With Debug logging on, the log names each colour token Material You theme leaves at one of Facebook's dark grays, once per token, so a report can show where the theme missed a gray (issue #37).

Fixes

  • With Use the system font on, the bottoms of letters like y, g and p no longer get cut off in menus, captions and buttons on phones whose font draws lower than it says it does. Facebook lays its text out tight to the font's own measurements, which only fit Meta's font, so text in a font like that now gets the extra room Android's own apps give it (issue #96).

  • Hide sponsored reels catches the reel ads that still showed in the Reels tab on 581 (issues #47 and #35). Facebook's newer Reels loader adds a reel on its own, or a page at the end of the list, and only tells the screen afterwards. The patch was taking the ad out of that message, so the report counted it as dropped while the ad stayed in the list. Now the ad never goes in. Hide AI-detected posts had the same gap for AI-labelled reels and gets the same fix. The report counts that message on its own line, Reels announcements, so the Reels pages line counts each reel once.

  • With Material You theme in dark mode, a sheet or dialog that opens over a screen, like the comments, takes the palette on its plain dark gray backgrounds too, the comment rows and the Write a comment bar with its top border included (issue #37).

  • Hide affiliate product links takes the other Shop now cards off reels too, like the one above the creator's name for a product of their own. Facebook sends products tagged on a reel, a creator's storefront and Shop similar as card kinds of their own, and the patch only caught the affiliate one. The diagnostic report counts each card it keeps out by its kind (issue #89).

  • With AMOLED theme on, the Data mode banner that Flex carriers show under the top bar draws on the black page now, not as a dark grey band across it. Facebook paints that strip with a card's colour, and AMOLED had turned it a card's near black. The Buy data button keeps its own step above the black (issue #86).

  • Turn off HDR brightness also answers no when Facebook checks whether the screen shows HDR. On a screen that shows HLG, that check is what lets Facebook brighten ordinary videos into HDR on Android 14 and newer, and it's also how Facebook picks a Dolby Vision video's HDR track. Until now the patch only held back Facebook's HDR window, which reaches a video drawn on a surface of its own from Android 15 on (issue #93).

  • With Tap to play on, the reel you land on when you open the Reels tab waits for a tap again. Facebook 581 starts those reels the way it autoplays a feed video, so the tap on the tab counted as asking for it. Tap to play now checks whether the player holds a reel, and a feed video or a story you tap still starts as before.

  • When Facebook closes with "Facebook keeps stopping", the next diagnostic report you export shows the error and where in the code it happened, with the last few events before it. Android only records that a crash happened, so a report sent afterwards couldn't say why. The crash stays on your phone, cleaned of addresses and ids, and goes in every report you export until a later crash replaces it or you tap Clear diagnostic data (issue #94).

Other changes

  • Show View profile on Marketplace sellers also answers the seller page's flag when it's read by its number instead of its name. Facebook's React Native pages can ask for a flag either way, so a page that switches over keeps the button.

  • Picture-in-picture now also covers a video playing in Facebook's full-screen Watch viewer or in the Video tab, using the window Facebook already has in both, behind the same Picture-in-picture switch. A paused video in the viewer doesn't open one, and in the Video tab Facebook still keeps ads and live videos out of it.

  • With Debug logging on, opening Menu writes the parts of its layout that mention Muse or Get app to the log, so an exported report shows what the Muse card is made of. Only what's on screen is read, a parent component's own text is left out, and it stops once the card turns up.

  • With Debug logging on, a long press on a reel does the same for every window Facebook shows a moment later, so a report also shows what the long-press menu's share row is made of, where Muse is listed first.

  • With Debug logging and Resume long videos on, the log says where each reel was as it started, how long it is and where Facebook asked it to start, to help track down reels whose seekbar shows time gone before they play (issue #90).

  • The README's list of patches that are off by default names all 32 again, Hide Meta upsells, Hide read receipts and Hide typing indicator included, and its notes on switches that start off no longer repeat themselves.

The changelog has every earlier release too.

How to update

  1. Update Morphe Manager to 1.34.0 or newer, then refresh the Hushfacebook source.
  2. Patch Facebook 581.0.0.45.58. On most phones that's build 475215365, which APKMirror labels (arm64-v8a) (320-640dpi) (Android 11+). Phones with a 32-bit processor take build 475215364, labelled (arm-v7a) (320dpi) (Android 11+). Facebook 580.0.0.51.74, build 475019344, and 577.0.0.50.72, build 474426275, still work.
  3. Install over your current patched Facebook with the manager's existing signing key. Keep that key so updates keep working.

The .mpp download is a patch bundle, not a Facebook APK. Installation instructions.

Look over a diagnostic report before you share it. The filter can still miss private text it doesn't recognize.
