Two more Messenger builds work now, and there's a way to hide the extra settings icon. Still 27 patches.

New

• Hide app drawer icon, in the App tab. It removes the separate "HushMessenger settings" icon from your app list. Settings still open from the long-press Patch controls shortcut and the HushMessenger row in the Menu tab. The switch only shows up when that Menu row applied, so you can't lock yourself out.
• Build 346013370 is supported. That's the APK Morphe Manager's download link handed out, and it used to stop with "version code 346013370 is not supported". It hasn't been tried on a phone yet, since both test phones run newer builds.
• Build 346013354, APKMirror's arm64 nodpi bundle of 580.0.0.49.91, is supported too.

Changed and fixed

• Allow screenshots now covers Android 14 and newer, where Messenger hears about screenshots from Android itself, and the photo and media viewers that lock their window in a protected chat. View-once media stays protected.
• A Facebook patched with the same key as Messenger, like Hushfacebook, is no longer turned away when it asks Messenger for its shared message keys. Meta's own rules still decide what it gets. Any other app, or a Facebook signed with a different key, gets the old answer.
• The line under each switch only shows while the switch is on. It no longer says "Not active since restart", which made working switches look broken.
• The App tab's Quick access card mentions the Menu tab row on builds that have it.
• The README explains how to get alerts from only the chats you pick, with Messenger's own settings.

Updating

Refresh the HushMessenger source in Morphe, patch Messenger again with the same key and install it over your current copy. Then use Restart Messenger.

All five supported builds (346013387, 346013440, 346013442, 346013354 and 346013370) take all 27 patches, and clean builds from two separate checkouts give the same bundle.

A big one. HushMessenger goes from 21 to 27 patches.

New

• Three privacy switches, all off by default. Hide read receipts works in end-to-end encrypted chats too, but there Messenger marks a chat read and sends the receipt in one step, so chats you open stay unread until you reply. Keep unsent messages keeps what other people unsend and marks it "[unsent]". It can't cover end-to-end encrypted chats. Allow screenshots lifts the screenshot block in vanish mode and encrypted chats.
• Use system emoji draws emoji with your phone's font instead of Messenger's.
• A HushMessenger row right under Settings in the Menu tab.
• Re-signed builds no longer open to a blank screen. The fix answers Messenger's check of its own certificate and nothing else.
• Each switch shows when it last took effect, and the App tab can export and import your choices.
• Crash-loop safe mode turns every switch off if Messenger keeps closing right after it starts. Your choices stay saved.
• An optional update check in the App tab. It's off by default, and nothing is sent while it's off.
• Support for build 346013442 from APKPure.

Better

• Hide typing indicator now works in end-to-end encrypted chats, which is most one-to-one chats. Before, the other person still saw "is typing" there.
• Hide Meta AI also removes the "Ask Meta AI" button in search. Hide avatar stickers also covers Messenger's newer sticker keyboard.
• Other apps can no longer restart Messenger.
• Lots of settings polish: screen reader labels, focus rings, theme fixes and right-to-left layout.

Updating

Refresh the HushMessenger source in Morphe, patch Messenger again with the same key and install it over your current copy. Then use Restart Messenger. Builds 346013354 and 346013370 are still rejected before any change, because their original APKs are needed first (issues #1 and #3). Signing in with "Continue as" through a patched Facebook app still fails on the Facebook side. That fix is coming in Hushfacebook.

• Hide People You May Know now also clears the suggestions on Messenger's Notifications tab and the block after the last chat. It takes the same path as Messenger's own Hide option, even on accounts where Meta turns that option off from its servers, and it never changes Messenger's settings. Pausing HushMessenger or turning the switch off brings the suggestions back. Checked on the S25: the Notifications tab lost its suggestions, they returned while paused, and chats and notifications still showed. The end-of-list block and the server override didn't apply to that account, so they're covered by build checks only.
• Pass 157 local tests. Both supported APKs apply all 21 patches, and two clean builds produce the same bundle.
• Explain where to find the settings after patching: long-press Messenger for Patch controls, or open HushMessenger settings from the app drawer.

Download the .mpp bundle and refresh the HushMessenger source in Morphe, then patch Messenger again and use Restart Messenger. Builds 346013354 and 346013370 are still rejected before any change. Their original APKs are needed first (issues #1 and #3).

• Long-press Messenger for Patch controls or Restart Messenger. Keep the app-drawer settings entry and cover Messenger's alternate icons.
• Add Quick access and a restart button at the top of the App tab. Explain when inbox changes need a restart.
• Save pending choices before restarting the main process. A failed save leaves Messenger running and shows an error. Restarting doesn't clear app data.
• Preserve Messenger's direct-share target, all original resource values and existing hook behavior. Rebuild both supported APKs with all 21 patches and verify their signatures.
• Pass 153 local tests. Exercise the long-press menu and fresh-process restart in a temporary S25 test app, retain saved choices, and recapture both settings pages and themes. Remove the test app afterward.

Changes

• Clearly label the UI preview, remove its app-drawer entry and prevent its setup report from claiming active Messenger controls. Real patched Messenger still gets its embedded settings launcher.
• Add Copy setup with app versions and known control states. It excludes account and chat data.
• Preserve page, category and search state across language changes. Keep multi-digit numbers readable in the RTL test language, including Arabic numeric separators.
• Generate the catalog from the built bundle, retain distinct hidden dependency identities and reject release metadata or checksum drift.

Verification

All 133 local tests pass. Both exact supported Messenger APKs apply all 21 patches, and all 57 expected host hook calls are present. Rebuilds preserve every original class and all 13 native libraries. APK v3 signatures verify. Two clean bundle builds produce the same SHA-256. Lint has no errors and seven existing warnings.

Issue #1 still needs its exact original APK, build 346013370. Live ad removal, typing suppression and the other host behaviors remain unverified in a working original-package installation.

The .mpp file is a patch bundle for Morphe, not an installable Messenger APK. Exact supported arm64 builds are 346013387 and 346013440. Verify the download with SHA256SUMS.txt.

HushMessenger v0.3.1

• Require both shared permissions to retain signature protection. Check their DEX sites before renaming the manifest permissions.

• Validate every method in a control before editing it, then publish its settings capability only after success. Reject changed browser parameters and plugin return constants.

• Keep both supported build codes visible in Morphe's compatibility description.

• Keep controls reachable in short windows with large text by moving the branding and reminder into the scroll area. Let navigation scroll when the keyboard leaves very little room. Preserve the normal portrait layout.

• Restore search selection and each page's scroll position, refresh switches when returning to settings, and keep focus on visible controls.

• Explain bubble availability on Android 9 and 10 without discarding the saved choice. Add accessible page names, correct right-to-left spacing and explain that choices apply to every account in the installation.

• Reject incomplete or conflicting certificate, permission and package records during the installation check. Include apps installed in other Android profiles.

• Check arm64 libraries, ELF page alignment and Android's native extraction rules. The optional --stock-apk argument verifies that a rebuild preserves the tested stock libraries.

• Return clear errors for missing inputs, tool timeouts, corrupt compressed native libraries and malformed changed-APK reports. Read wrapped dependency errors and keep temporary APK cleanup on failure.

• Pass 103 local tests. Android lint reports no errors and the same eight warnings as the baseline.

• Rebuild both supported APKs with all 21 patches, verify their v3 signatures and preserve every native library. Two clean bundle builds produce the same checksum.

• Exercise both settings pages and themes on an isolated S22 display. Check small windows, 200% text and keyboard-visible search on a headless Android 16 emulator.

This is still a preview. Original-package Messenger startup remains unresolved. Issue #1 uses unsupported build 346013370 and stays open until its exact APK can be validated. Live ad removal, patched message delivery and calls remain unverified.

The phone sources last verified v0.2.0. S25 is disconnected; Manager remains active on the S22 main display, so its source refresh is pending isolated access. Both stock sign-ins are preserved.

The MPP is a patch bundle. Import it in Morphe, then rebuild Messenger to apply it.

v0.3.0

Settings that are easier to use

HushMessenger v0.3.0 redesigns settings around two pages. Controls has category filters, search and a setup panel showing your enabled count. App keeps appearance, version details and setup help together. Open HushMessenger settings from your app drawer after installing a patched Messenger build.

• Dark and light layouts follow the new design references, with grouped rows and clear switch states.
• Switching themes preserves your selected page, category, search and scroll position. Your existing patch choices stay saved.
• Narrow screens and larger text get a stacked header. Interactive targets are at least 48 dp.
• The catalog still contains 21 selectable patches and 20 optional controls. This release changes settings presentation; its Messenger hooks are unchanged.

Checked locally

All 57 tests pass (26 Kotlin, 20 Android and 11 Python), and Android lint reports no errors. Both supported Messenger APKs rebuilt with all 21 patches and passed v3 signature verification. Two clean builds produced the same bundle checksum. The release settings extension was exercised on an isolated S22 display, with both pages and themes compared against the design references.

Existing limits

Original-package re-signed Messenger still has an unresolved blank startup screen. The standalone settings checks do not establish signed-in Messenger behavior. Live inbox ad removal remains experimental. Version code 346013370 reported in issue #1 is still unsupported; tested codes are 346013387 and 346013440.

Refreshing the source downloads the bundle. Applying these settings changes requires rebuilding and installing Messenger with the same signing key as your previous patched copy. Keep your stock sign-in and encrypted history intact. The attached MPP is a patch bundle, not a Messenger APK.

v0.2.0

21 selectable patches

HushMessenger v0.2.0 replaces the two-entry catalog with separate choices for each feature. It has 20 optional controls plus Install beside Meta apps. Every switch starts off.

Thirteen controls are new:

• Inbox ad filtering, People You May Know, friend request cards, growth prompts and inbox promotions.
• Chat Moments and the Reels badge.
• Generated-sticker tools and the avatar sticker tab.
• Chat promotions, business reply suggestions, business typing suggestions and event prompts.

The seven existing controls are now separate patches. The Meta AI control also hides the inbox toolbar button.

Find the settings

After patching and installing Messenger, open app drawer > HushMessenger settings. Use Find a control to search. The screen shows only installed controls. Pause all changes retains your saved choices, and a light theme is available.

In Morphe Manager, open Sources, expand HushMessenger, refresh it, then open Patches. The list should contain 21 entries. Updating the source downloads patch definitions; it doesn't replace installed Messenger.

Verification

• 52 local tests passed: 26 Kotlin, 15 Android and 11 Python. Android lint passed.
• Both S22 and S25 remote sources and catalog pages show v0.2.0 with 21 entries. Their installed Messenger apps stayed intact.
• All 21 patches applied to both supported arm64 APKs, codes 346013387 and 346013440. Both rebuilt APKs passed signature verification.
• A people-only build changed just its two host hooks and added one installed-feature flag.
• Settings search, empty results, saved choices, pause and both themes were exercised on an isolated S25 display.
• Two clean release builds produced the same bundle. The bundle includes the GPL license and upstream notices.

Remaining limitations

Original-package startup remains unresolved. A previous re-signed Messenger build stayed on a blank first-run screen. Preserve your installed app and encrypted chat recovery information.

Inbox ad filtering is experimental. It filters only Messenger's typed ad items and keeps ordinary rows. Live removal still needs an affected account with a visible ad. The other new host features have exact-build and automated checks, but still need signed-in before/after tests on their affected screens. The settings check doesn't establish full Messenger runtime behavior.

Build 346013370 from issue 1 remains unsupported until its exact APK can be checked.

Download patches-0.2.0.mpp and compare it with SHA256SUMS.txt. No Messenger APK is distributed.

v0.1.0

Startup limitation

The original-package startup failure is still unresolved. Earlier re-signed Messenger and zero-patch rebuilds opened a blank first-run screen on S25. Keep your installed app and encrypted-chat recovery intact. Refreshing a Morphe source downloads patches; it does not install a new Messenger APK.

New controls

Select both patches for the full bundle. After installing a patched APK, open app drawer > HushMessenger settings. A gear icon opens saved switches, a light theme and Pause all changes. Every feature starts off.

• Hide stories and notes, inbox subtabs, or Facebook shortcuts.
• Hide the Meta AI floating button and menu entries. Search and existing AI conversations remain.
• Open HTTP/HTTPS links externally through Messenger's existing preference branch.
• Suppress outgoing typing signals or remove the low-memory gate for Android bubbles.

Close and reopen Messenger after changing inbox options. Android still controls bubble and notification permissions. Ad blocking and media-transcoding changes are not included because their current paths haven't been verified.

Checks

The clean local build, Android lint and all 40 tests passed (20 patch/source-index, nine Android settings and 11 certificate tests). Both exact arm64 Messenger 580 APKs, codes 346013387 and 346013440, patched and signed successfully. Two clean bundle builds matched. Changed permission bytecode was rejected before rebuild.

An isolated S25 diagnostic copy verified the settings screen, saved switches, light theme and Open Messenger button. Stories and notes, the Facebook toolbar shortcut and Meta AI floating button disappeared when enabled and returned when paused. This copy needed a private package-name adjustment and skipped history restoration; it does not prove original-package startup works.

Typing events, inbox subtabs, bubble behavior and the new browser override still need their full device acceptance checks. Automated checks cover their hooks and runtime switches. Both stock Messenger installations and sign-ins were preserved.

Download

Add github.com/SysAdminDoc/HushMessenger as a remote source in Morphe Manager, or import the attached patches-0.1.0.mpp as a local source. Use one source method. The source should show two patches. The remote index timestamp was corrected after initial publication for Manager compatibility; the bundle and checksum are unchanged.

Compare the download with SHA256SUMS.txt. No Meta APK or private signing key is distributed.

HushMessenger v0.0.9 provides the patch bundle for Messenger 580.0.0.49.91 arm64 builds 346013387 and 346013440.

Known startup limitation

Re-signed Messenger previously installed with the matching Facebook key but opened a blank first-run screen. An unchanged Morphe rebuild did the same. This release does not resolve that startup failure. Re-signed chats, calls and notification behavior remain unverified.

Changes

The new read-only installation check verifies candidate and installed APK certificates before any phone changes. It reports installed-app signer mismatches, shared-permission owners and downgrades. API-specific rotated certificates and complete multiple-signer sets are checked; source stamps aren't app identities.

Stock S22 and S25 exchanged encrypted messages between two owned accounts. The S22 browser switch passed HTTP and HTTPS comparisons. Its original setting was restored, and both installed apps and sign-ins were preserved.

Verification

• Twelve Kotlin tests and eleven Python tests pass. Ruff checks pass.
• Two clean local builds produced the same bundle checksum.
• Morphe Desktop 1.17.0 patched and signed the S25 APK off-device. Its manifest has 26 plus three renamed permission attributes and no old names.
• The altered-APK check stopped before output. The installation check passed the stock candidate and rejected a mismatched fixture and the rebuilt APK without installing either.
