HushTelegram v0.0.13 has 68 patches for telegram.org's Telegram 13.0.1 (org.telegram.messenger.web, version code 71679) and the official Telegram beta 13.0.1 (org.telegram.messenger.beta, 71669). Sixty-four are selected by default, and every new switch starts off. This release moves to Telegram 13.0.1 and brings twelve new patches, most of them asked for in the issues. You can translate a whole chat, keep a copy of downloaded files and songs in your phone's Download folder, make folders by chat type in one tap, and get notifications through a UnifiedPush app like ntfy. There's also Faster downloads, a black launch screen with AMOLED black, HushTelegram's own icon and name, and switches that hide the Contacts tab, channel bar buttons, the Send as button or messages matching your keyword filters. HushTelegram settings is split into seven pages now.

What's new

  • Telegram: New Black and white launch logo patch. With AMOLED black on and your phone in dark mode, the launch screen on Android 13 and up shows Telegram's own logo in white on black, with its usual animation, instead of the app icon. It's left out of the default selection because it has Morphe rebuild Telegram's resources, so pick it in Expert mode.
  • Telegram: New Hide Contacts tab switch on the Chat list page. Turn it on and the Contacts tab is gone from the bar at the bottom of the main screen after a restart, and a swipe no longer lands on its page. Calls or Settings stays as you had it, and the new message button on the chat list still opens your contacts. It starts off.
  • Telegram: Ask before sending a sticker now covers the stickers Telegram suggests above the keyboard when you type an emoji, in a chat and in a story's reply bar. Those went out on one tap before. A sticker that costs stars still gets Telegram's own question only.
  • Telegram: Hide blocked users in groups now keeps a blocked person's new messages in a group from notifying you too, not just out of the chat when you open it. It also reads your whole blocked list now. Telegram only loads the first 20 people until you scroll its Blocked users page, so anyone past them used to slip through. And when someone else replies to a blocked person, their reply now shows without the quote of what was said, the way a reply to a deleted message looks.
  • Telegram: A wording pass. Pause is explained the same way everywhere, Import settings says what a file holds, and errors that left you guessing now say what to do next: download a damaged file again, update HushTelegram for a file from a newer one, or open an export that couldn't be checked.
  • Telegram: With Debug logging on, what HushTelegram writes to Android's log goes through the same redaction as an exported report, so tokens and keys in a message or an error stay out of it.
  • Telegram: The App name option turns down direction marks and zero-width characters, which could flip or hide the name under the icon. Emoji built with zero-width joiners still work, and so do Persian, Kurdish and Indic names that need the zero-width non-joiner.
  • Telegram: Export diagnostic report says "Preparing the diagnostic report" while it builds the report and takes no second tap until the copy or the file is done. The back arrow and the name at the top use the page's own white, and the back arrow shows when a keyboard is on it.
  • Telegram: A keyboard or D-pad gets into the list as soon as settings opens, stops on the status card and on the paused page's status line, where Enter presses their Pause, Resume or Undo button, and a ring shows which row it's on. The two Export diagnostic report choices read as buttons to a screen reader, and a ring marks the one a keyboard is on.
  • Telegram: HushTelegram's own dialogs in a chat (Message details, Forward to, the Ask before questions) now go light or dark with Telegram's theme. Before, they followed the phone's dark mode, so they could come out white over Telegram's Night theme.
  • Telegram: Import settings now lists every switch the file changes and which way it goes, like "Hide ads turns off", under the count. A file someone shared with you can't quietly turn off Stop usage reports anymore.
  • Telegram: When Telegram turns down the API ID your build signs in with, the phone number screen now says so, with a button that opens the guide to using your own ID. Before, it just sat there after you tapped the arrow. This covers API_ID_PUBLISHED_FLOOD, the built-in ID being refused, and API_ID_INVALID, a registered ID or hash with a typo in it. Reported in #11 and #3.
  • Telegram: Keep deleted messages remembers the newest 5,000 kept messages per account. Past that, the oldest ones now go to Telegram's own deletion, the way they would have without the switch. Before, they stayed in the chat without their deleted label, where Clear kept messages couldn't reach them. If Telegram can't take some of them back, they stay kept and are first in line next time, so newer kept messages aren't pushed out early. Clear kept messages also can't hand the same message over twice when another one is kept at that moment, so its count stays right.
  • Telegram: Messages that pop up at the bottom of the screen are shorter now, so Android shows them whole instead of cutting them off after two lines.
  • Telegram: The Export settings row now says what a file carries (your switches, filter lists and sticker size) and which switches stay out of it.
  • Telegram: A new Folders by chat type switch on the Chat list page, off by default, makes Private, Groups, Channels and Bots folders in one tap. They're ordinary Telegram folders, made the way Telegram's own folder screen makes them, so they show as tabs above the chat list right away and reach your other devices. Private takes in your contacts and everyone else. A type you already have a folder for is skipped, and Telegram's folder limit is kept, with a toast that says when it left no room. Turning the switch off removes the folders it made. One you've renamed, given an emoji, or added, left out or pinned chats in is yours and stays. A color doesn't count, since Telegram gives each new folder one of its own. If nothing can be done (HushTelegram is paused, you're signed out, or Telegram is still loading your folders) the switch goes back and a toast says why. The switch isn't in settings backups, since importing it wouldn't make or remove anything. Asked for in #7.
  • Telegram: A new Save downloaded files switch on the Playback page, off by default, puts a copy of each file and song you download in Download/Telegram on your phone, the folder Telegram's own Save to Downloads uses. File managers, music players and other apps can open them there. It covers documents and songs. Photos and videos already have Telegram's Save to gallery settings, and GIFs, voice messages and round videos stay in Telegram. So does anything from a secret chat, self-destructing media, and chats or messages that don't allow saving. A file that's already there with the same name and size isn't copied twice. A name with hidden text-direction marks in it, or one too long for the file system, is cleaned up so the copy still lands. On Android 9, and on Android 10 when Telegram has storage access, Telegram's own folder is already open to other apps, so nothing is copied. Asked for in #7.
  • Telegram: A new UnifiedPush notifications switch on the Notifications page, off by default, is for phones where Firebase notifications don't come through. Install a UnifiedPush app like ntfy, turn the switch on, and Telegram signs up the address that app gives it, through the Simple push type Telegram's own API has for this. Telegram's servers call that address when something arrives, the app wakes Telegram, and Telegram fetches the message itself, so only the wake-up passes through the UnifiedPush app. The Push app row under the switch shows how the sign-up is going, and reads it again when you come back to Telegram, so a sign-up the app ended while you were away shows as ended. The sign-up reaches ntfy even if you haven't opened it since installing it. With more than one UnifiedPush app installed and no ntfy among them, you pick which one gets the sign-up. Turning it off ends the sign-up and has Telegram ask Firebase again right away. Uninstalling the UnifiedPush app does the same at the next start. The switch isn't in settings backups, so a file someone shared can't route your wake-ups through another app. Asked for in #5.
  • Telegram: Translate with an outside service can now use an AI service with your own key instead of Google's web translate. Tap Translation service under the switch and fill in the address, model and key. Anything that takes OpenAI's chat format works, like OpenAI, OpenRouter, DeepSeek, Groq or Gemini's OpenAI address. The key stays on your phone: it isn't in settings backups, the diagnostic report or the log, and it only goes over https (plain http is allowed just for a model server on the phone itself). A message already in your language stays as it is, and if the service turns your key down you'll get a toast that says so. A redirect from the service isn't followed, so the text and the key only ever go to the address you typed. Use Google in the same dialog goes back and forgets the key. Asked for in #2.
  • Telegram: A new Faster downloads switch on the Playback page, off by default, has files download in 512 KB pieces with 8 requests at a time instead of 128 KB pieces 4 at a time. That's the setting Telegram already uses for accounts its servers pick for it, so it isn't a Premium unlock, and the servers still decide how fast they send. If a big piece fails, Telegram drops back to small ones on its own like before. It applies from the next download, no restart needed. Asked for in #6.
  • Telegram: A new HushTelegram icon and name patch puts HushTelegram's own badge on your home screen, with a themed version that takes your wallpaper's color on Android 13 and up. Its one option changes the name under the icon. It isn't selected by default, since there's no switch to undo it after patching: turn on Expert mode in Morphe Manager and pick it. An alternate icon you chose in Telegram's own settings keeps its look. Asked for in #6.
  • Telegram: AMOLED black now turns the launch screen black too, on Android 13 and up while your phone is in dark mode, so Telegram no longer opens on its dark blue screen before the black one. It's Android's own black screen with Telegram's icon on it, so nothing is added to Telegram's resources. Turning AMOLED black off or pausing HushTelegram brings Telegram's own back the next time it starts. Asked for in #6.
  • Telegram: A new Translate with an outside service switch, off by default, adds Translate here to a message's menu and Translate this chat to a chat's menu. The text you turn on goes to Google's web translate, one message at a time, and nothing is sent before that. Turning the switch off forgets the chats and messages you'd turned on, so switching it back on later sends nothing until you choose again. Telegram's own translation and its Premium checks aren't touched.
  • Telegram: Two new switches on the Look and feel page, both off by default. Hide channel bar buttons takes Search, Direct messages and Info out of the bar at the bottom of a channel and leaves Mute and Join. Gift already goes with Hide Premium, gifts and Stars, and a channel's Recent actions log keeps its own Search. Hide Send as button hides your picture next to the message box in groups and channels where you could post as a channel, but only while you're posting as yourself, so you'll always see it when a message would go out under a channel's name.
  • Telegram: A new Hide messages by keyword switch on the Conversations page, off by default, with a list of filters for groups and another for channels. A filter is one line: plain text matches wherever it appears in a message, and a line in slashes like /crypto|airdrop/ is a regular expression. Neither minds capital letters. Matching messages are left out of a chat when you open it, the way Telegram leaves out a message it can't show, so nothing is deleted and the server never hears about it. Private chats and your own messages are never filtered. The editor refuses a line it can't use and says which one, including an expression that could take too long on a long message, and it won't keep a list too big to carry in a settings file. Settings export carries both lists, and an older HushTelegram leaves them out of an import rather than refusing the file.
  • Telegram: Hide Premium, gifts and Stars now also covers Premium stickers if you don't have Premium. They're left out of sticker packs, the sticker keyboard and its favorites and recents, the way Telegram leaves them out where Premium can't be sold, and a Premium sticker someone sends you no longer plays its full-screen effect or pops up the Premium tooltip. The sticker itself still shows in the chat. The emoji keyboard drops locked emoji packs too, so the emoji tab only lists emoji you can send, and a Premium pack with some free emoji keeps those. With Premium, nothing changes.
  • Telegram: A new Change sticker size switch on the Look and feel page, off by default, with a Sticker size row under it. Pick 50%, 75%, 125% or 150% of the size Telegram gives a sticker in a chat, and a chat shows the new size the next time you open it. Animated emoji and dice keep their own size. Settings export carries the size you picked, and an import refuses a size that isn't one of the four.
  • Telegram: HushTelegram settings no longer puts about 55 switches on one Chats page. They're now on Ads, Chat list, Conversations, Playback, Notifications, Look and feel and Privacy, the same groups Morphe Manager sorts the patches into, and each patch's description names its page. Hide phone number and Turn off beta debug logs moved to Privacy. Your saved choices don't change, and search still finds every switch.
  • Telegram: The two longest settings pages, Conversations and Look and feel, are now split under short headings like Translation or Theme, each group in a card of its own, so a switch is easier to find than in one long list of thirty. Switch rows also dropped the icon they all repeated, which gives their text the full width. Asked for in #6.
  • Telegram: Telegram 13.0.1 is now the supported version, both telegram.org's build (version code 71679) and the official beta (71669). Every patch is checked against those two builds, and 12.10.6 and 12.10.7 are no longer supported.
  • Telegram: Several patches were updated for the way Telegram 13.0 builds its screens, so they keep working there: Hide Stories, Hide Premium, gifts and Stars, Hide Telegram Features and Invite Friends, Gallery camera on tap, Quiet contacts nag, Holiday look all year, and the HushTelegram row in Telegram's own settings.
  • Telegram: Telegram 13.0 renamed My TON in Settings to Gram Earnings. Hide Premium, gifts and Stars still hides that row under its new name.
  • Telegram: Telegram 13.0 no longer sends the storage report that Disable analytics used to stop, so the patch doesn't look for it anymore. Channel read times and Premium screen reports still stay on your phone.
  • Telegram: Hide Premium, gifts and Stars now also hides the Wallet row that Telegram 13.0 added to Settings. Settings then looks the way it does for an account that has no Wallet.
  • Telegram: Hide Premium, gifts and Stars now also takes the Wallet button out of the chat list menu and the attach menu. The other attach buttons, Gallery and File included, stay just as Telegram lays them out without Wallet, and the chat list menu keeps everything else it shows, mini apps too.
  • Telegram: Hide Premium, gifts and Stars now also hides Send Gram in the three other places Telegram 13.0 offers it: a profile's menu, the menu that opens when you tap a TON address, and the menu on a Gram transfer message. Each one then looks the way it does for an account without Wallet. Copy address and View in explorer stay on TON addresses, and Gram transfers people send you aren't touched.
  • Telegram: Use system font now covers Wallet too. Card numbers and amounts switch to your phone's monospace font at the weight Wallet asks for, so the columns still line up. The small font that draws the Gram currency sign stays as it is, since phone fonts don't have that sign.
  • Telegram: Disable analytics now stops the camera's dual camera report, which tells Telegram your phone's maker and model when its servers ask for device stats. The camera itself works as before.
  • Telegram: The settings home page ends with Support HushTelegram, which opens the Ko-fi page in your browser.
  • Telegram: The settings status card no longer shows a stale "HushTelegram X is made for Telegram Y" line when you're already running a build newer than the last release it knew about. It stays quiet until it finds a release newer than yours.

Tooling

  • Tooling: The source ledger is caught up with the October 11 audit (new sources, moved pins, 397 forks), and the census is fresh again. Sources hosted somewhere other than GitHub or GitLab now get their own list with the version an index last showed, so the audit stops flagging one it can't read and speaks up again when a new version appears.
  • Tooling: The settings screen's code is split into one method per page, and patch helpers nothing called anymore are gone. The release script keeps gh's warnings out of what it publishes, and the release receipt stops on a clone git can't open instead of reading it as a copy with no history.
  • Tooling: The selection matrix expects the Firebase crash and session report switches only on a build that ships those SDKs, which is Telegram Beta. It also rebuilds the one call Turn off beta debug logs adds to Telegram's startup settings the way the patcher adds it, so a default build no longer fails there, while a call in the wrong place, on the wrong register or added twice still does. With HushTelegram icon and name in the selection, it expects the app and Telegram's default launcher entry to point at the icon that patch adds, and nothing else in the manifest to change.
  • Tooling: The selection matrix no longer fails every selection that includes Save downloaded files. That patch has the patcher rewrite one of Telegram's classes, which drops two values set to zero and false, and a field left without a value starts at zero or false anyway. The check now reads those as the same, and a real value that goes missing still fails it.
  • Tooling: The source audit reads the Morphe Patch Tracker again. The tracker now names some bundles twice in different case, like ImmortalZeus:dev and immortalzeus:dev, and PowerShell couldn't hold both, so the whole source failed. Files like that are now read with case kept, and both bundles count.
  • Tooling: The source audit reads Jman's bundle index again. It moved to Jman-Github/Patch-Bundle-Registry, and the bundle list and patch catalog the audit used to read are gone. The audit now reads the registry's own snapshot: the newest generation, every latest bundle that targets Telegram, and the Telegram patches in each. The ledger points at the registry and at HushTelegram's listing there.
  • Tooling: Awesome Morphe lists HushTelegram now, so the ledger records the listing and the release check stops calling it pending.

Install

  1. Install Morphe Manager 1.34.0 or newer.
  2. Add HushTelegram as a patch source: https://morphe.software/add-source?github=SysAdminDoc%2FHushTelegram
  3. Get Telegram 13.0.1, version code 71679, from telegram.org's Download button. The official beta 13.0.1, build 71669, works too. The patched app needs Android 9 or newer.
  4. Coming from v0.0.12? That one was built for 12.10.6, so patch the new 13.0.1 APK and install it over your current HushTelegram with the same Morphe Manager signing key. New to HushTelegram? Uninstall the stock Telegram first, since Android won't put one over the other. Your chats come back when you sign in, but secret chats don't. Back up Morphe Manager's signing key after your first patch. You'll need it for every update.
  5. If Telegram won't send you a login code, register your own app at my.telegram.org/apps. Use only letters and numbers in the short name. Then select Use registered Telegram API credentials, fill in apiId and apiHash, and patch again. The result installs over your current HushTelegram build. Keep both values private.
  6. Want HushTelegram's own icon, or Telegram's logo in white on the black launch screen? Turn on Expert mode in Morphe Manager and pick HushTelegram icon and name or Black and white launch logo before you patch.
  7. For notifications, open Telegram's Settings, then Notifications and Sounds, and turn on Keep-Alive Service and Background Connection. Phones where Firebase notifications don't come through can also try the new UnifiedPush notifications switch on HushTelegram's Notifications page with a UnifiedPush app like ntfy.
  8. To change HushTelegram's switches, open Telegram's Settings and tap HushTelegram settings.

The .mpp download is a patch bundle, not a Telegram APK. Installation instructions.

Validation

959 runtime tests and 419 patch tests passed locally, along with both Android lints. All 68 patches applied without forcing to Telegram 13.0.1 (version code 71679) and to the 13.0.1 beta, build 71669. The release receipt checked each patched app's manifest, native libraries, resources and alignment.
