Hushfacebook v0.5.0 gathers everything since v0.4.0. It targets Facebook 580.0.0.51.74 and still supports 577.0.0.50.72, now with 51 patches, up from 43.

New patches

• Hide the Reels tab dot. No more red dot or number on the Reels tab (called Video on some accounts). Notifications, Marketplace and the other tabs keep their badges. On by default.
• Hide the Reels tab. Takes the Reels tab off the tab bar, and its shortcut out of the long-press menu of Facebook's icon. Reel links and reels in your feed still open (#26).
• Keep the reel speed. Pick a speed once and the next reels play at it (#25). On by default.
• Hold a reel for 2x. Press and hold a playing reel for double speed, let go to go back. Facebook's own pull-down lock works with it.
• Default playback quality. Data saver, Up to 480p, Up to 720p or Highest, for reels and videos.
• Turn off double tap to like. A double tap on a reel or video no longer likes it. The Like button still does.
• Open Messenger from the top bar. The Messenger icon at the top opens the Messenger app instead of Facebook's Chats (#19). In the default selection, with its switch off until you turn it on.
• View stories anonymously. Watch stories without being added to their viewer lists (#24).

Fixes and changes

• Feed. The "Suggested for you" row of groups to join is hidden again. Facebook now sends it as one of its own promo cards, so it got past the filter.
• Marketplace. Search results lose their ads too, with no gaps left behind (#29).
• Saves. Stories and VP9 reels save at full quality with their sound, and a switch makes saves that CapCut and InShot can open.
• AMOLED and Material You. Cards turn black on the black page (#27), and the Android 15 bars follow the theme.
• Messenger. A Messenger patched with the same Manager key works with your Facebook both ways, including signing in with Continue as.
• Diagnostic reports leave out more IDs and tokens, and say why the feed was allowed to refresh.

Known limitations

Every new patch was tried on a phone, and the changelog says what each check covered. A few fixes were checked with automated tests only, mostly in the diagnostic report and settings. The AI-detected reels filter still hasn't met a reel Facebook has flagged. Some reports still need the reporter's details, including WhatsApp import (#11), Xiaomi Gallery sound (#14), Media settings (#12) and a missing Reel Download button (#18).

Review diagnostic reports before sharing them. The filter can still miss private text it doesn't recognise.

Validation

Local checks passed: 1327 runtime tests and 565 patch tests with no failures, plus both Android lints and the release-script checks. All 51 patches applied without forcing to both supported Facebook builds, with no resource or injected-code structural errors. The dependency advisory check found no advisory for gson 2.14.0, kotlin-stdlib 2.4.20 or annotations 13.0.

v0.4.0

Hushfacebook v0.4.0 gathers the fixes and additions since v0.3.4. It targets Facebook 580.0.0.51.74 and still supports 577.0.0.50.72, with the same 43 patches.

What's new

• Clone app copies. A copy of Facebook renamed with Morphe's Clone app patch recognises itself again, so Dark mode and Active status should open there (#16).
• AMOLED black theme. The status bar stays black when you come back to Facebook from Recent Apps, on the Reels and Video tabs too (#22).
• Keep your feed. Block background-return feed refresh has a new No time limit switch, so your place stays however long you're away (#23).
• Saves. Running saves are listed under Downloads with a Cancel button, which helps when notifications are off. A save cut short is cleaned up the next time Facebook starts. Error pages, oversized manifests and a full phone now stop a save sooner, and Cancel stops a video while its picture and sound are being joined.
• Diagnostic reports. Export diagnostic report always gives a report with your build details, even when nothing was logged. It leaves out more credentials and IDs, says what a saved video actually holds, and counts why a reel has no Download button (#18).
• Feed filter. Closes a way Facebook could swap sponsored posts into the news feed past the filter.
• Settings. A Supported links row shows whether Android opens facebook.com links in this app, with a shortcut to Android's page for it. Reels and Watch opens with a map of which switch hides which Reels surface. Search tells TalkBack how many settings it found, category pages say when Hushfacebook is paused, and settings import and export now report what was really saved.

v0.3.4

Hushfacebook v0.3.4 brings together all changes since v0.2.0. It targets Facebook 580.0.0.51.74 and retains support for 577.0.0.50.72. The bundle now has 43 patches, up from 27.

What's new

• Searchable settings. A new overview leads to category pages, with search, clearer dialogs and a live preview for saved video names. Dark, light and wallpaper themes are supported.
• Marketplace only. Keep Marketplace, Notifications and your profile or Menu in the tab bar. Optional quiet social notifications and feed preloading controls are available, with a way back to regular Facebook. The mode starts off.
• More filtering controls cover suggested Stories and Groups, Menu promotions, sponsored search/profile posts and Marketplace requests. Word lists can hide or keep posts, and creator-labelled AI posts have a separate opt-in switch.
• Playback and saves. Tap to play clears the initial play overlay when playback starts and stops a quick swipe from carrying a tap into the next Reel. Long-video resume is available. Compatible saves preserve known H.264/AAC pairs, and audio selection favors formats more players can handle.
• Choose a custom font file, open on a chosen tab, set the default comment order, limit tag suggestions to an explicit @, and block selected promotional notifications. Hushfacebook also has an entry in Facebook's Menu.

The rebuilt bundle is byte-for-byte identical to the previously verified v0.3.4 bundle. The existing S22 settings and playback checks apply to the same runtime code; the affected configurations listed above remain unconfirmed.

The release includes the patch bundle, its dependency inventory (SBOM), the build and fixture receipt, and SHA-256 checksums.

Hushfacebook 0.2.0 targets Facebook 580.0.0.51.74, and 577.0.0.50.72 still works. It's the batch of fixes held back since 0.1.8, with 27 patches now, five of them new.

New patches:

• Install beside Meta's apps (on by default). The official Messenger, Facebook Lite, Business Suite and Workplace can now be installed next to a patched Facebook without INSTALL_FAILED_DUPLICATE_PERMISSION. If you patched before, patch again and install over the top. It's an ordinary update and Facebook keeps its data.
• Stop update prompts (on by default). A patched Facebook can't install Meta's updates, so it stops asking.
• Use the system font and Use the phone's emoji (both off until you pick them in Manager) draw Facebook's text and emoji with your phone's own fonts.
• Don't send reel watch history (off until you pick it) keeps the list of reels you watch from going back to Facebook.

Other changes:

• Long-press the Facebook logo at the top of your feed to open Hushfacebook's settings (#2). A tap still does what it always did.
• Hide AI-detected posts has a second switch for Reels and Watch.
• The Video file name setting takes {owner} and {posted}, so {owner}_{posted} saves a video as Some Page_20260925.mp4 (#6).
• An opt-in check tells you when a new Hushfacebook release is out. It's off by default and never downloads anything.
• The settings screen shows which rows open something, and the diagnostic report choices fit at large text sizes.
• The README has a Troubleshooting section for Manager's error messages and a section on what Meta can see.

Checked on a signed-in test phone (Galaxy S22, Android 16) through Morphe Manager, installed over the top with the login kept: a long press on the Facebook logo opened the settings, a tap stayed Facebook's, and the Stories tray row reads as it should.

All 27 patches applied without force to Facebook 580.0.0.51.74 and 577.0.0.50.72. The only manifest change is the two renamed Meta permissions from Install beside Meta's apps. Local checks passed: 575 extension tests, 273 patch tests and both Android lints.

Hushfacebook 0.1.8 fixes the known issue from 0.1.7: Clean up Reels now takes the Follow button off reels on the Reels tab. It only caught the Following button next to people you already follow, so a reel from anyone else kept its Follow button. Following someone from their profile still works.

Checked on a signed-in test phone (Galaxy S22, Android 16) before release. With the switch on, no reel on the Reels tab showed a Follow button, and turning it off brought the button back.

v0.1.7

Hushfacebook 0.1.7 brings back the settings shortcut from #2. Facebook pushes three shortcuts of its own whenever it posts notifications, so on a launcher that shows only a few, Hushfacebook dropped off the end. It stays first now. Long-press Facebook's icon on your home screen to find it.

There's a new patch, Clean up Reels. It takes the Follow button off reels and hides the comment and reaction previews Facebook shows under them. The Remix, template, Stars and link-out buttons go too, and each part has its own switch under Reels and Watch. It starts off in Morphe Manager.

Downloads have two new settings. Download quality holds every saved video to 1080p, 720p, 480p or 360p, or picks the smallest file. Video file name builds names from a template with {date} and {video_id}. Download any reel is on by default now, so a fresh patch puts a Download button on every reel.

Saved files get the right extension when Facebook's server labels them wrong. A gallery write that fails is reported and cleaned up, and if the gallery won't let go of an unfinished save, the first save after a restart tries again. With Open links in external browser on, fb.watch, m.me and Facebook's other short links open inside Facebook again. The settings screen is easier to read on the black page and says what each row does in all five languages. It won't close Facebook any more when no browser can open the source link.

On a signed-in test phone (Galaxy S22, Android 16), the update went on through Morphe Manager and kept the login, and Hushfacebook shows first when you long-press Facebook's icon. A reel saved with the quality set to 720p came out as a 720p file named from the template. Clean up Reels kept the comment preview off the reels it showed.

Known issue: on the Reels tab, the Follow button beside a reel's author still shows with Clean up Reels on. The fix is next.

Hushfacebook 0.1.6 makes settings easier to scan. Actions stand out more clearly in dark and light themes, and the recovery screen has more distinct controls. Shorter descriptions in all five translations keep the important exceptions. Pause has a visible badge when active.

The Save folder dialog explains where files go and confirms the saved name when characters need replacing. The diagnostic choices explain quick and full reports. The Licenses screen wraps notices for a phone and makes project links tappable.

Hushfacebook 0.1.5 adds an optional switch that holds a Story at the end until you navigate, and another that keeps your place when you return to the feed within ten minutes. Pull to refresh and a fresh launch still work as before.

The Hushfacebook settings screen now groups controls into clearer cards. The default dark view has a stronger status header and blue controls. Hide Reels in the feed also catches showcase rows and the extra row Facebook adds near the end.

• Hide Stories tray is a new patch. The row of stories at the top of the feed goes away, Create story included, the way Facebook builds the feed when its own tray is off. Stories still open from profiles, notifications and the Stories viewer.
• "Suggested for you" has its own switch in Hide suggested and promoted posts. It hides the posts Facebook recommends from people and pages you don't follow and from groups you haven't joined, going by the same flag Facebook's own "hide suggested posts" reads. Posts from friends, followed pages and your groups stay.
• "People you may know" has a switch of its own too, and friend requests are left alone.
• Hide AI-detected posts is a new patch that hides posts Facebook's own detection labelled as made with AI. Its switch starts off.

• Material You theme gives Facebook's dark mode your wallpaper's colours on Android 12 and newer, and a fixed palette on Android 11. Light mode stays as it is, and it works alone or with AMOLED black theme.
• Sanitize sharing links takes the tracking tags Facebook adds to shared and copied links back off, and links that open in your browser lose their fbclid tag.
• Hushfacebook's own text, launcher shortcut included, is in the language Facebook shows, and a settings file with a number too large to read is refused with a message.
• Each release now carries a CycloneDX SBOM of the bundle, and a release stops on a known advisory nobody has looked at.
