Hushfacebook moves to Facebook 584 and Morphe's new 2.0 patcher, so update Morphe Manager to 2.0.0 or newer before you patch. It's 64-bit only for now, since Facebook hasn't put out a 32-bit 584 yet. New switches can close Facebook when you leave it, hide the video comment box and draw thin lines between posts on the black theme, and a new patch keeps feed videos muted. Black cards buttons, the comment gestures in clean mode and Menu promotions in the side panel work again too.

New switch under Privacy,
Close Facebook when you leave it. Three seconds after you leave Facebook it closes all the way and drops out of your recent apps, so nothing of it keeps running in the background (issue #202, requested by @M7amma). It holds off while an upload, a call or a Hushfacebook save is still going, or while a file picker or camera Facebook opened is on screen, and turning the screen off with Facebook in front doesn't count as leaving. Notifications can come late, or not until you open Facebook again. It starts off. Checked on a phone. -
New switch under Comments,
Hide the video comment box. The Add a comment box under a full-screen video goes away, outline and all, while comment boxes on posts stay (issue #213, from a patch by @dijitalcozum). The Comment button beside the video still opens the comments, with their own box. It starts off. Checked on a phone. -
New switch under Appearance with the AMOLED black theme,
Lines between posts. Facebook leaves a thin gap between posts that shows the page behind them, and on a black page that gap went black too, so a post without a photo ran straight into the next one (issue #206). With the switch on, that gap shows as a thin dark gray line in Facebook's dark mode, while the page and the cards stay black. It starts off. Checked on a phone, with the switch on and off. -
New patch,
Keep feed videos muted, under Playback. Videos in the feed start with the sound off every time you open Facebook, even after you've been away a while, and Facebook doesn't turn it back on by itself. A video you open from the feed starts muted too. A tap on a video's speaker or the volume up key still turns it on. It starts off, and takes effect after the restart its switch offers. Checked on a phone.

With
Black cardson, buttons like Log out in the side panel and Edit profile keep their dark gray fill again. In 0.16.0 and 0.16.1 the AMOLED theme's sweep for leftover dark colors also caught Hushfacebook's own colors, so those buttons went black on a black page and only their text showed (issue #191). Checked on a phone. -
Open comments with a gestureworks withAlways use clean modeon. Clean mode hides a reel's sidebar, Comment button and all, and the gestures pressed that button, so a long press fell back to Facebook's menu and a double tap did nothing (issue #179). A reel without the button now gets its comments from what its long-press handler keeps, on the same sheet the button opens. Checked on a phone, long press and double tap both. -
With
Leave calls and chats to Messengeron, a message sent to you in Facebook's own Chats no longer shows up twice, once from Messenger and once from Facebook. Those messages reach your phone as Facebook's regular notifications rather than through its chat notifier, so they slipped past the switch. Facebook now leaves them to Messenger as well, while every other notification posts as before (issue #193). Checked in tests, not yet on a phone. -
Hide Menu promotionsnow holds in the side panel Menu for accounts Facebook gives its server-drawn Menu. 0.16.0 put Facebook's own Menu in that panel, but the Menu page inside it asks Facebook's server the same question again, and those accounts got the server's Menu right back with Upgrades and Also from Meta still in it (issue #184). Hushfacebook answers that second question too now. While any Menu switch is on, the panel and the Menu tab both show Facebook's own Menu with your hidden sections and shortcuts gone. Checked on a phone with Facebook's answer forced to the server-drawn Menu. -
Block Instant Games adsnow covers games that open inside Facebook's main screen too. Those games talk to Facebook through a bridge of their own, so their ad requests went around the patch and some showed ads between levels anyway (issue #168). They get the same no-ad answer now, and withAnswer rewarded game ads as watchedon, a rewarded video still counts as watched. Checked on a phone with a game played to its map. -
Disable Audience Networkstays off now. Facebook switched those parts back on after an install or update, and one of its startup tasks lets the server turn three of them on again (issue #168). Both are held off, and any an earlier install left on go back off when Facebook starts. Checked on a phone.

Hushfacebook now targets Facebook 584.0.0.51.56 only, the newest stable release. That's build 475817393 for 64-bit phones (the arm64-v8a 480dpi Android 11+ bundle). Facebook hasn't released a 32-bit build of 584 yet, so none is declared for now. If you're on 583.0.0.39.55, update Facebook to 584 before you patch.

You need Morphe Manager 2.0.0 or newer now. The patches are built on Morphe's new 2.0 patcher, which Manager 1.x can't load (it asks you to update instead), so update Manager first. Desktop patching needs morphe-desktop 1.19.0 or newer for the same reason.

The description of
Hide the reaction preview on postsnow says where the number on the Like button goes. That count belongs toHide counts on posts, so the preview switch alone leaves it showing (issue #158). -
A settings file can now be up to 96 KB, up from 88 KB, so a file with every list full still fits now that there are more switches.
Behind the scenes
-
The device audit can now put back the switches from a backup an older Hushfacebook build left on the phone. Switches added after that build weren't in the backup, so they kept the audit's all-on values, the restore never matched, and the audit folder stayed behind. Those switches go back to their defaults first now, and everything else comes from the backup. Checked on a phone.
-
The device audit gets its report and opens the settings pages even when the walk ends on a reel or another full-screen page, and the phone smoke walk reaches the settings there too. Android dropped those requests without saying so, and the audit stopped with no report. The audit was checked on a phone, the smoke walk by its tests.
-
The device audit no longer stops halfway when another tool reads the phone's lease file at the same moment. It waits a few seconds and tries again. A missing lease or one held by someone else still stops it.
-
A baseline the device audit writes on Windows now has the same line endings as the copy in the repo, so promoting one doesn't leave the file looking half changed.
-
No release goes out now until the whole app has been walked, on a phone or an emulator, with the exact bundle being published.
scripts/device-audit.ps1leaves awalk-receipt.jsonsaying how the walk ended, where it ran and which patch build the app reported, and the release script's publish step takes it as-Walk. Anything short of a full pass with no crash on that same bundle stops it before the tag. -
A release now also waits on Android's own code check, run on a phone or an emulator. The 0.16.0 comment crash was a method that phones refuse to load, and only the phone half of
scripts/verify-injected-registers.ps1would have caught it, but the release check ran without a phone. With-Serialand-ReceiptPathit now leaves averifier-receipt.jsonthat names the phone, the patch build read out of the checked APK, and every message where the patched app and Meta's own build differ. The publish step takes it as-Verifierand stops before the tag unless it's a pass for that same bundle with no differences. When it stops, it names the methods that failed. -
The device patch scripts read morphe-desktop 1.19.0's results. That CLI renamed its list of patching steps, so every device patch read an empty list and counted as failed. Both names work now, and a result with no steps or a failed one is still refused.

The source ledger asks an adopted source for proof on every Facebook build the patches declare, and on two builds whenever two are declared. With 584 out for 64-bit phones only, two fixtures of one declared build couldn't exist, so the old rule stopped every release.
The changelog has every earlier release too.
How to update
- Update Morphe Manager to 2.0.0 or newer, then refresh the Hushfacebook source.
- Patch Facebook
584.0.0.51.56. On most phones that's build475817393, the arm64-v8a one. - Install over your current patched Facebook with the manager's existing signing key. Keep that key so updates keep working.
The .mpp download is a patch bundle, not a Facebook APK. Installation instructions.
Look over a diagnostic report before you share it. The filter can still miss private text it doesn't recognize.
What was checked
Local checks passed: 3483 runtime tests and 1119 patch tests with no failures, plus both Android lints and the release-script checks. All 95 patches applied without forcing to Facebook 584.0.0.51.56, the 64-bit build (Facebook hasn't released a 32-bit 584 yet), and a second build of the same commit matched this bundle entry for entry. I patched Facebook with this exact bundle and walked the whole app with every switch on, on an emulator signed in to a full account: 69 of 96 hook families ran, all 23 settings pages opened in dark and in light, and Facebook didn't crash once. Holding a reel opens its comments with every switch on, so a second short walk with that switch off reached Facebook's long-press menu, and Hold a reel for 2x, Share sheet items and Sanitize sharing links all ran there. Android's verifier raised nothing on the patched build, the same as on Meta's own. The walk doesn't reach downloads, chats or stories, so those are covered by the patch tests alone this time.
