OpenCut v1.55.0 gives the CEP and UXP panels a quieter editorial workspace. The interface now relies on typography, spacing and alignment instead of nested boxes and status pills.
Highlights
- Body text and controls start at 14 pixels, with clearer title and section levels.
- The desktop header is 56 pixels tall, the navigation rail is 164 pixels wide and standard controls are 34 pixels high.
- Flat sections and hairline rules replace ornamental cards, heavy shadows and oversized rounded containers.
- Settings opens directly on useful controls. Duplicate descriptions, connection summaries and decorative state badges were removed.
- Media selection is one compact working row with a larger preview area.
- Search, Deliverables, Agent and command-palette empty states are shorter and calmer.
Reliability
- Clip controls remain available before a clip is selected.
- Collapsible sections keep their closed state under the shared grid layout.
- Narrow UXP panels keep the current page title visible.
Verification
- 11,416 Python tests passed, with 4,620 subtests.
- 267 panel unit tests passed.
- All 72 headless CEP and UXP presentation checks passed across supported widths, themes and forced-colours states.
- All 63 installer tests passed with zero warnings.
- The quiet install and uninstall smoke passed on an isolated hidden desktop.
Windows installer
The installer is unsigned because no Authenticode certificate is configured. Windows may show a SmartScreen warning. Verify the downloaded file against release-digests.json before running it.
