Changed

  • The Classic layout on current Reddit now looks like old Reddit instead of a
tidied-up new Reddit. Measured against a live public subreddit, the home feed
and a live thread rather than the fixtures, which had drifted a long way from
what Reddit ships. Listing rows read title (domain), then submitted 3 hr. ago by author (or to r/name on the home feed), then bold grey 131 comments share text links with the overflow menu at the end of that line. The vote
column paints old Reddit's 15x14 arrow glyphs in #c6c6c6 with the orange and
periwinkle voted states and a 13px grey score; Reddit's outline SVGs stay in
the shadow root, hidden, so the buttons keep their listeners and labels. Link
posts without a preview get the link placeholder and text posts the document
icon. The header's account corner is the pale box old Reddit had, reading
want to join? sign up or log in, and the search field is a plain bordered
box instead of a 40px pill. The community strip continues the header's blue
with the name at 13px and Create Post as a flat bordered button; the Join
control is old Reddit's small blue subscribe pill, reached two shadow roots
deep. Community highlights are one line of links. The right rail is flat 12px
panels, and declutter hides its related-posts, promotion and legal blocks. The
thread page is the same listing row with the media under it: the back button
and avatars go, the tagline is one 10px line, the title is 16px, the vote
rail sits top-left, and the share control is the word alone. A media expando
button sits left of the tagline like old Reddit's, and an opened expando
grows the row instead of being clipped inside its 72px.

Fixed

  • Every "N more replies" fold on a live thread printed twice. Reddit keeps a
hidden permalink copy of the control beside the live one, and the stylesheet
    forced it visible.
  • The outbound URL of a link post painted as bold 16px text across the author
line. It is now the (domain) after the title, from the post's own attribute.
  • An empty 38px feed-status box painted above every listing. Live Reddit ships
the banner holding one whitespace node, which :empty counts as content.
  • The empty flair host on every post drew a bordered box at the right edge and
reserved 172px of the title line.
  • The hidden-promotion count rendered below the fixed header on top of the
community strip. It sits beside the logo now.
  • A community-status emoji button in the home feed's tagline was squashed into
a 2px bar. Old Reddit's tagline has no such thing, so it is hidden.
  • The home feed's tagline lost its community link: the post's invisible
full-post link also starts with /r/ and took the class first.
  • A shadow host nested inside another root could never receive a stylesheet or
its parts: documentElement.contains stops at the boundary, so the host read
as detached and was dropped on the first sweep. Prepared roots are now swept
for nested hosts, and attachment is read through isConnected.
