Spot2YTMusic v0.2.0
Spot2YTMusic can now make a local copy of a reviewed playlist. Pick the playlists, check the recordings, and click Download MP3s. Each playlist gets numbered MP3 files and an M3U8 file in the same order as the Spotify export. Song tags use the Spotify title, artist, album, and track number.
Downloads can stop and resume. Completed MP3s stay in place, and the app reuses audio it has already fetched. A failed video is shown in the activity log while the remaining songs continue. You can still transfer the same reviewed plan to YouTube Music.
The review panel now shows Spotify album and duration beside YouTube recording details and match notes.
MP3 downloading requires separately installed yt-dlp, FFmpeg with ffprobe, and Deno or Node.js. Put them on PATH or beside the Windows app. The ZIP includes the README with setup links. Download only recordings you have permission to save.
The Windows EXE is unsigned, so Windows may show a publisher warning.
v0.1.3
The Windows app has a new migration workspace. Choose playlists on the left, review song matches in the middle, and pick a recording on the right. Transfer progress and the activity log stay below the track list.
The dark and light themes have clearer match states. Side panels scroll on smaller windows, and the app sizes itself to the available screen when it opens. The recording tile uses generic artwork because Exportify exports don't include cover images.
Download Spot2YTMusic.exe to run the Windows app. The ZIP includes the EXE and license notices. This build is unsigned, so Windows may show a publisher warning.
v0.1.2
Choose the playlists you want from an Exportify ZIP or CSV before scanning. The same checklist lets you transfer selected playlists from a saved plan, even when other playlists still need review.
Stop scan now interrupts retry waits and prevents another search from starting. An active YouTube Music request may need to finish first. Completed search results stay in the local cache, so you can pick up where you left off by scanning again.
Disabled actions are easier to spot, and the review count follows the checked playlists.
The Windows EXE is unsigned and may show a publisher warning. No YouTube Music account changes happen during a scan.
Spot2YTMusic v0.1.1
This fixes a Windows packaging error in v0.1.0. Exportify ZIP import worked, but Scan all stopped before making any YouTube Music changes because the EXE was missing the library's language files.
The EXE now includes those files. Every Windows build also starts the frozen app and initializes its YouTube Music client, so this error is caught before release. Background errors now say which step failed.
I checked the import worker with a multi-playlist Exportify ZIP. Download the new EXE or Windows ZIP below. The EXE remains unsigned, so Windows may show a publisher warning.
Spot2YTMusic v0.1.0
Spot2YTMusic now has a Windows desktop app. Open Exportify from the app, import playlist CSVs or an Export All ZIP, scan YouTube Music, and check uncertain matches before transferring. It handles several playlists in one run and verifies the destination after every batch. Saved plans and review choices let you resume.
Download Spot2YTMusic.exe to run the app. The Windows ZIP includes the EXE and license notices. Source and Python packages are attached too. SHA-256 hashes are in SHA256SUMS.txt.
Spotify export and the first YouTube Music authentication setup still need your browser. The EXE is unsigned because this release has no code-signing certificate, so Windows may show a publisher warning.
Spot2YTMusic v0.0.3
Spot2YTMusic now has a clearer first look for people moving playlists. The README starts with the review step, explains which Spotify CSV columns work, and walks through scanning and creating a playlist. It also names YouTube Music's built-in transfer option so readers can choose the route that fits them.
The new header is designed for GitHub's light and dark themes. The original header, an alternate light design, and the selected artwork are kept in the repository. Package metadata now links back to the project and its issue tracker.
The transfer workflow is unchanged. It still reviews matches before writing, keeps song order and repeats, and checks the destination when resuming. This release passed 17 local tests and an installable-wheel smoke check.
Spot2YTMusic v0.0.2
Spot2YTMusic v0.0.2 is the first public release. It reads Spotify playlist CSV files, searches YouTube Music, and gives you a review sheet before writing a private playlist. It keeps song order and repeated songs. If a transfer stops, it checks the destination before resuming.
Install Python 3.11 or newer, download the wheel, and run:
python -m pip install spot2ytmusic-0.0.2-py3-none-any.whl
spot2ytmusic --helpThe source archive is attached for builds from source. Account authentication stays local. YouTube Music access uses the unofficial ytmusicapi library.
